The Inter-Galaxal Wars, Part One
Date: 29 September 2003, 1:41 AM

War is hell. War always has been, from Ugh and his stones to Hitler's Armies. However, War was shoved on humanity by the Covenant, and Humanity intends that if it is to be it's end, it would make such an end as to be remembered in the annals of time.
The Year is 2579 A.D., 6 Years after the battle of Earth. Humanity, through some miracle(Named the Master Chief), has survived the vicious assault of the Enemy, and pushed him back.
The Prophets overthrown, the Covenant realized their mistake, before it was too late. They declared a peace with the UNSC, and the Humans gradually recovered from their great wounds and aches. Much, much death has been had, the Human race almost wiped clean.
However, we recovered quickly. So now, the Covenant and the UNSC have bonded to become the United Confederation of Planets, gaining two other members who, inspired by the peace, entered the Confederation.
Universal Translators, given to all of the Confederation's members, allow different species (or different Nations i.e.: Chinese and French) to talk easily and smoothly.
However, new threats, as they always have, present themselves...

0900 Hours, 12 May, 2579(Confederation Military Time)
Civilian Trade Frigate Morningstar, Conan Nebula, en route to Chei Seti 4

"Slipspeed ahead, Ensign," Commanded Lt. S.g. Tar'Kadol, a Taiidarian Male, the Commanding Officer.
She's... not responding, sir." The Human Ensign swiveled his seat to face Tar'.
"What!? That can't be..."
"Sir! We're caught in an energy field of some kind! We can't break free!"
"What!? Energy field?" His barrage of questions were cut off by the sight produced by the viewport.
A massive ship, with a strange color never seen before, sat before them. Trying to describe this would be like describing Purple to a blind man, so we'll leave it at that. It's shape was also strange.
"No Confed. Ident Codes, no insignia matching database, color never used by the Confederation... Um... they're not ours." The bamboozled Science officer said, whilst conducting scans.
"Who the hell..."
"A strange power surge... they're powering weapons!"
"Red Alert! Power Up Laser Cannons! Shields to full!"
"Incoming!!" A pulse beam sliced right through the Morningstar, breaking the hull in two.
A few seconds later, several smaller beams punctured the Bridge, Cargo Bays, crews' quarters, and Main Reactor.
The ship exploded in a brilliant flash, destroying 24 Sentient Beings and 100,000,000,000 unibucks, the Standard Confederation Currency, worth of Ship and Cargo.
Then, the mysterious ship disappeared into Slipspace.

1000 Hours, 14 May, 2579(Confederation Military time)
Confederation Slipspace Test Ship Mustang, emerging from slipspace , Conan Nebula

"Captain Riker, we've arrived," Announced Master Lt. Johnson, The Helm Officer.
"Excellent. Hail Chei Seti Spacedock," Commanded the Captain. So, the new Slipspace model worked. Ha! He'd like to see the looks on the faces of doubters, saying it was unreliable until the kinks were worked out, when they got his report!
"Uh... this isn't Chei Seti," Said the Communications Officer.
"What!?" Captain Riker was disappointed.
"NAVICOM needs a moment to recalibrate," Reported the Navigational Officer. After a second, "There we go. We're in the Conan Nebula."
"That's 2 and a half light years from target!"
"Sir, debris belt ahead. Scanning." The Science Officer Reported, and a mass of data and pictures materialized on the Holo-display in front of Riker.
A piece of the debris was highlighted, and words appeared under it.

Terrarium Carbonic Alloy
Confederation Insignia
Ident Code: 2G9D33DFR4724
LASER SCORING DETECTED

"Computer, look up Ident Code 2G9D33DFR4724 in Confed database," Commanded Riker.
"On it," Responded the Ship's Computer, then said a second later, "Trading Frigate Morningstar, last check in was at Confederation Security Station 183 at 0823 Hours two days ago."
"Laser Scoring... deploy salvage Corvette. Get the ship's Logs, if possible."
"Corvette Away," Announced the Chief Operations Officer.
A Launch Bay opened it's doors, and a ship that just fit through traveled out into the void, and headed for the debris.
Several Minutes went by. "Copy, Logs Found," A radio transmission from the Corvette stated, "Returning to ship."
"Good. Let's 'ave us a look, then."

Riker and his Senior Officers were in the briefing room. Riker had just turned on the logs.
"Lt's Log, Date 14 May, 2579. The Morning will go to Chei Seti 4, to trade with a merchant that's to rendezvous with us."
There was a pause, as the log had some gaps. "Sorry, Cap'n," Said the Science Officer, "The whole Logs couldn't be retrieved."
"We are now entering the Conan Nebula, still a way away from our destination."

Date: 30 September 2003, 11:26 AM

1400 Hours, 15 May, 2579(Confederation Military Time)
Confederation Headquarters Briefing Room, San Francisco
Sol System

"I tell you, we must meet this with force, sirs!" Insisted Field Marshal Patton XIII.
"Meet what with force, George? It disappeared, and my ships can't find them," Said Fleet Admiral Forest.
"Indeed," Admitted the President of the Confederation, Tei Kadash, a Kushan Male, "We must find this threat, before more people, ships and Unibucks are lost."
"I knew you'd see it my way, Mr. President!" Said Patton XIII with glee.
"Fleet Admiral, step up your patrols," Ordered the President.
"No need, sir," Said a voice, and the three high-ranking officials looked to the door. A Technician in a Red Uniform, his insignia indicating him as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, was there. He had a disk in his hand.
He walked up to the table, and put the disk down.
"This just in, received by Light Cruiser Rabid, in the Alpha Dimbari System," Said him, and he saluted. The man inserted it in a slot on the table.

A holo-tank popped up, and it started. A Screen appeared, and was soon replaced by an audio message, with text and stuff scrolling along.
Static riddled the message, but they could make out a voice. There was weapons fire, explosions, and screams in the background. "This is Commander Dak Tak of- Confederation of Planets Battle Frigate Endeavor. We are under attack,- alien race. They took us by surprise,- The planets in the solar s- Beta Centashi- incinerated by enemy- We are being-, repeat, enemy boarding parties have arrive- What the!? Intruders on the-! Security to Bridge!"
The voice breaks off, as the weapons fire gets louder. The last thing the person said, was a scream.
An alien laugh fills the room, then static.
A chill ran up Tei's spine, and he shook his head. "Field Marshal, load up your troops. Admiral, send the largest strike force you can find. We're going to Beta Centashi."

1600 Hours, 15 May, 2579(Confederation Military Time)
Marine Bay 3, Heavy Troop Transport Everlasting
Slipspace, en route to Beta Centashi System

"Hey, man! We going to kick some ASS!!!!" Said a Mexican Private, to a British Corporal.
"Yah, my dear Marine, we shall kick them in the posteriors!!!!" The Brit said.
"ATTENTION, ALL MARINES REPORT TO DROPSHIPS. EMERGING FROM SLIPSPACE IN THIRTY SECONDS," Boomed over the loudspeakers all over the ship.

"Let's go!" Said an American Sergeant, as he climbed into a Pelican Mark V Dropship, a fusion of the Covenant Dropships and Humanity's own pride.
They held 3 dozen loaded down Troopers, quite an impressive load, each.
It also had a cargo space for 4 "Viper" Hoverbikes, another cross-breed: Motorcycle with Ghost. They had 2 Laser Cannons on each side, they each produced 780 Megajuels of energy; about 1200 Volts. At a maximum speed of 20 Gilometers, a Gilometer being 6 and a half Kilometers, they could speed past all opposition.
Or, they could hold 2 "Shadow" Hovertanks, with 10 1500 Megajuel spitting laser cannons, and a shuttle-class in terms of firepower Laser Lance, they are quite an opponent.
"Aye, aye," Said the pilot, and the ship's 9 small engines boosted it into the air, and 2 bigger engines propelled it into the void.
It joined 90 other Pelikan Vs, flying towards the 5 Planets in the system.
"Enemy ships! Lots a em!" Screamed a Pilot over the Comm line, and the Capitol ships-about 93 Confederation ships- moved in, and engaged the 70 Enemy ships.

"Arm weapons," Commanded the Captain of a Confederation Cruiser to the Ops Officer.
"Aye," He responded, and typed the orders in. "Laser Lances online, Laser Cannons charged, Missile Launchers armed, Ion Cannons ready to fire, Turbo-Laser Point Defense Cannons on as well. Shields at %100. Launching Cobras."
50 small, advanced strike craft streaked from the two massive Launch Bays, and headed for battle, way faster than the Capitol Ships.
These "Cobra" Class Interceptors were a favorite among pilots and Captains alike; they were deadly, and so small even a ship not designed for strike craft holding could garner some.
Strike Craft had several drawbacks: they had only a small portion of a Capitol Ship's firepower, their Fusion Reactors couldn't be made self sustaining(To keep the mass ratio reasonable), so the reactor on-board must be fed drive mass to continue to function, and each ship packed very weak energy shields, through they were adequate for defense from other strike craft, and they couldn't be given beam weapons, ether. The demand on the reactor was simply too great. Instead, they used 70 mm Armor Piercing Projectiles, Magnetically Accelerated to speeds capable of penetrating energy shields on strike craft relatively easy.
Except for Attack Bombers. They had energy weapons powerful enough to blast through a Capitol Class ship's shields and armor, with enough shots.
"Target the lead ship, and fire all weapons," He ordered.
"Firing..." The ship was weirdly silent and still, as the broadside of flashing energy beams and missile trails rushed towards the weird enemy ship.
They broke upon the enemies' Ion Shields, and the shields dissipated.
"Fire Phase Torpedoes!"
13 glowing balls of Purple, Red, Blue and Black energy fired at the enemy, tearing through the hull of the other ship. The main Fusion Reactor exploded a moment later, and the enemy ceased to exist.

The dropships entered the atmoshpere, and the Marines suited up in Mark X Combat Armor. A Human Male put on his body and leg armor, then put on the helmet. With an almost-transparent glass piece 3 centimeters from the eyes, they acted like goggles, and displayed stuff like a HUD.
A lot of Marines admitted it was cool. In times of need, the suit could be vacuum sealed; it had enough air to last the wearer for 16 Hours at a time. It automatically refills lost air in storage at the first chance.
The shiny green armor layer is capable of reflecting a 50 caliber round, or 200 Megajuels of energy before it failed.
The enemy still used Projectiles.
Then, there was the toys. Most marines used the KL-98 Heavy Combat Rifle, capable of firing 8000 bursts of laser energy, or a beam of concentrated Photons for 15 Minutes straight before the battery must be replaced.
Marines had three Spare batteries at all times, if it could be helped.
A few had the KL-93 Sniper Rifle, firing photon bursts(4000 in battery) or a beam of energy(20 Minutes in battery) out of a long barrel, giving it extreme range. It also came with a scope, capable of x50 Magnification.
4 spare batteries were kept by Snipers, as there wasn't as many bursts, but 5 Minutes more beam fire.
Master Sergeant Johnson looked around one more time, then put his helmet on.
The Dropship landed, and it's doors opened. "Go! Go! Go, Marines!!" He yelled, and they charged out onto the surface...
