The Ghost: Chapter 1
"Come now Shinat, we must hurry!" Guan an Elite, beckoned to his trusted companion. "I'm hurrying as fastes as I cans masters buts this stuffs be very heavys!" The little grunt replied. He was hobbling as fast as he could to keep up with Guan's quick pace but the equipment he was carrying was becoming quite a burden on him and he was slowly losing ground. "Shinat your scratching that lens!" Guan barked at his dimwitted companion. "Many sorrys master!" Shinat pleaded as he picked up the camera lens that he had been dragging on the ground. "It's quite alright... just be more careful next time," Guan replied, shaking his head and allowing a low chuckle to escape his lips. The two pressed on for many days, through the thickest jungles and the driest deserts, until finally they reached there destination the Hanache Ruins. "Look at them Shinat aren't the beautiful and very ancient indeed," Guan said. "Yeses master theses are very oldey indeed!" Shinat replied placing one hand to his chin in an attempt to mimic a pose Guan did whenever he was thinking hard. "Come now lets have a look shall we." Guan said as he approached the ruins. The ruins were made of a solid stone with many intricate carvings and picture painted on to the walls. The pair went past room after room each with a different number carved above it. "One fifty, one fifty-one, ah yes here we are one fifty-two. Do you know what's inside of here Shinat?" Guan asked. "Nos masters me not knows anythings bouts whats inside of there." Shinat replied scratching his head. "Ah well you shall see now." Guan said opening the door.
A bullet rang out striking an Elite's ear and tearing its skin away from its face while the force from the impact sent it sprawling backwards into the sand. "Charlie company Right flank now!" Barked Second Lieutenant Matthew Josel. Several marines charged the right flank of a fortified enemy gun emplacement however, heavy fire from an unseen second emplacement sent them scattering for cover. Two more bullets rang out from Marcen's sniper rifle one finding a Jackals left arm and the other plating itself deep within the skull of an unsuspecting Grunt. Marcen stopped to reload, from his position in a large tree he could scope most of the first gun emplacement but he'd have to relocate to see the second one. He hopped down from the tree and made his way over into a nearby rock formation. He activated his guile suits camouflage mode, the new guile suit design took pictures of the object behind it and displayed the picture on the suits front, not as good as Covenant cloaking but it did its job. An Elite had taken control of the gun in the second emplacement while at least twenty grunts ran about attempting to keep the marines at bay. The marines under Second Lieutenant Josel were getting hell from that gun, so in two shots Marcen silenced it. With the gun temporarily silenced the platoon charged, Marcen did his best to cover without hitting any of the marines but it wasn't easy. He took special note of an Elite who waded through marines with his plasma sword as if he were invincible the Elite had obviously sighted Marcen because he made sure he always kept a marine between him and the sniper, he was good. The Elite went through four marines until Marcen got his shot, it would take a stroke of luck but he had no choice. He pulled the trigger sending a bullet through a marines shoulder and into the Elites belly. The Elite dropped its sword brought both hands to its wound and collapsed onto the ground. While the wounded marine rolled screaming on the ground and kicking violently, it was a little knick, with some luck the marine may get sent home. Marcen got up and headed away from the battle another eleven mile walk to his evac point, this battle was done. He would leave the battle without the UNSC forces even knowing he was there.
"I do not gets it master what is this?" Shina questioned. Guan chuckled, "There is the DNA structure of an entire species in this computer," Guan replied as he punched in several buttons on this monitor. "This species used to serve the Covenant Alliance well thousands of years ago before the Great Cleansing began, but they were all executed. They were unreasonable, over-aggressive, and uncontrollable. However, Shinat I believe I can clone them, bring them back to life, and make them submit to my will. By rearranging a few molecules I believe I can bring them to life again and they will help us end the Great Cleansing." "Wells master it sounds very hard it doeses." Shinat replied. Guan said nothing more to the little Grunt he concentrated fully on the task of hacking into the system downloading the genetics file and then decrypting the code. Shinat found a big glass panel with several computers behind it. He tapped on the glass one time and it slid open, he stepped inside where a big red flashing button caught his eye. "Master what is thises its is shiny!" He called to Guan. "Oh not now Shinat I'm quite busy!" Guan called as his fingers worked quickly over the monitor. Shinat decided that no harm would be done if he just pushed the button so he did. He waited for a moment and when nothing happened he shrugged and walked back into the main room. When he did several valves opened with a mechanical hiss and whir. Guan looked up to see what Shinat had done, "May the gods save us..."
