The Battle To End the War: Chapter 1
Date: 24 December 2004, 2:25 AM
Marine Eric Tyson leaped behind a boulder, and then reloaded. Hundreds of bolts of plasma passed and hit the boulder. There were also Needler needles that pinged in a high pitched 'Ting' off the rock. He knew he couldn't wait much longer, the Covenant were tearing the rock apart. He finished reloading his battle rifle and leaped out in front of a Ghost. He jumped in the air and landed on the front end of it, capped the pilot three times in the head, and rolled the dead Elite out of the cockpit. The Ghost started to lower as Eric swung his legs around the wing of the Ghost, sat in it and drove off. He turned the Ghost around, aimed at a Covenant Creep, and held the triggers down, sending hundreds of 10,000 degree plasma bolts. The front end of the Creep melted away leaving the engine defenseless. The Ghost drove strait in front of the Creep, boosted, using all of the power of the engines, and Eric jumped out when the Ghost was three feet away. He tumbled a couple of times and came to a stop fast enough to see the Ghost smash into the Creep, causing both of the vehicles to explode. A Needler needle hit his armor and self destructed, blowing it of his arm. Eric immediately got to his feet and ran off, dodging as much plasma fire as he could. Only three plasma rifle shots hit his armor plated back. The heat from the plasma melted some of the armor, and the molten metal gave him third degree burns and permanent scars. He hid behind a building, panting like a dog, trying to catch his breath. He peeked over the corner with the scope on the battle rifle, aimed at couple of Grunts, and picked them off, one by one. He had to reload but an Elite was heading his way. Eric took a moment to think and saw broken bar that was bent flat, flat enough that he could hold on to it and hide. And that is exactly what he did. He ran directly into the, but before he hit push up and off the wall with his feet, and jumped high enough to grab the bar. As soon as his legs swung around the bar and then on top of it, the Elite jumped in front of the ally and started firing rapidly. Eric knew if he would have thought for one more second the Elite would have entered the ally way before he could have gotten completely on the bar, and he would have been killed. The Elite stopped firing, looking around to see if he had killed him but saw nothing. He took a couple of steps forward and stopped. Mean while, while the Elite was doing his thing, Eric thought of a way to kill the Elite. At that moment he finally thought of something. A drop of blood dripped from Eric's arm and landed on the Elites shoulder. The Elite looked over at what it was as Eric swung upside down, and hung by his legs on the bar. The Elite touched the blood and rubbed it between his fingers, tying to figure out what it was. Eric grabbed a grenade and pulled the pin on it. The Elite just realized that it was blood as Eric slammed the Grenade into the Elites mouth. Eric swung back on the bar and sat on it like a frog, then sprinted into a window on the building. He broke the glass as his feet hit the window. He fell onto the building and listened as the grenade blow off. Eric looked out the window and cut his hand on the broken glass in the window frame. He looked at the ground and saw half of on Elites body lying of the ground. All there was left was the legs of the Elite, and nothing more. He got to his feet and felt glass that has penetrated the open spot on his back. He jumped out of the window and hit the ally's floor with a thump, got to his feet, and ran out of the ally. He looked around, and saw that all of the Covenant in that particular area had been killed. 'But by who?' he wondered. There were no marines or anything anywhere. "Odd," he said to himself. He walked by a couple of dead Grunts and found out that one was not dead; it was trying to crawl for cover. Eric placed his foot on the back of the Grunt stopping it from moving. He was curious of who or what had killed most of the Covenants infantry in that area, so he decided to question the Grunt. The Grunt attempted to crawl away, but couldn't. Its grunts were weak, and the Grunt was dieing quickly. "Who did this to your group?" Eric asked impatiently. The Grunt struggled to crawl away and gave up, but he would not say a word. "Who did this to your group?" Eric asked again. He put more pressure on the Grunt's back, but he still wouldn't say a word. Eric pulled out his pistol and shot the Grunt twice in the arm. The Grunt screamed and the started to cry. But still said nothing. 'Stubborn little buggers', he thought to himself. He lifted the Grunt up by the back of its head, the punched it twice in the lower torso. The Grunt screamed again, but didn't say anything. "Who did this to you group?" Eric said as he put the pistol up to the Grunts head, and put pressure so it would hurt the Grunt. The Grunt grunted, but kept its mouth closed. "I agree with the Elites," he said. "The only thing you Grunts are good for is shields." That statement made the Grunt angry. "If you don't tell me who did this I will blow your head off! Do you understand?" At this point Eric was really mad. You could hear how impatient he was by the tone of his voice. But the Grunt still resisted to answer. Eric pulled the trigger knowing that it was empty. The Grunt shrieked, and started to hyperventilate. Eric reloaded the gun and put it to the Grunts head again. "The Brutes... the Brutes!" The Grunt finally replied.
