SPARTAN II: Stranded Chapter I: Crash Landing
Date: 26 April 2003, 1:15 AM

"Chief! Wake up, wake up!" the voice screamed in his head.
"Ahh! What the fuck?" Master Chief said.
"Covenant ship is approaching! Get to the controls!" Cortana said.
Master Chief quickly got up and rushed to the controls. A ship appeared from behind. Chief shut off the auto-pilot and grabbed the controls. He accelerated and pulled sharply to the left, and the Covy ship stayed close behind. It started firing plasma bolts, and Chief nosed down. He quickly spun the Longsword and fired 3 missiles at the Covy ship. One hit and the other two flew off to the left. He spun the ship around again and went as fast as he could. "Cortana, where is the nearest planet?!" He needed to find a planet to hide out. There was no way he would survive this assault.
"Searching," Cortana said. "Uhhh...."
"What?" Chief said.
"The closest planet is the Grunt homeworld."
"What is the next closest?"
"The next closest is 100 light years away, you'll be shot down if you try for it."
"Ah fuck," Chief said. "Would I be able to live on a world with low oxygen?" he asked.
"This planet has abundant oxygen, the methane must be like nitrogen on Earth." Cortana said.
"Oh, I see," he said. He thought quickly if he should try for the other planet. It was possible to make it, if he was lucky. He certainly did not want to land on an Covy inhabited planet. They would kill him the first chance they got. He had to decide fast. He felt a plasma bolt hit the hull. 'Fucking hell," he thought. "Ok, Cortana, find me an un-inhabited area on the planet." He had to take his chances.
"Analyzing," she said. "OK, I have the coordinates, I'll display them." The coordinates popped up, and the Chief turned the ship towards the Grunt planet. He turned on the nuclear reactor engines, and made the jump.

The Covy ship easily tracked him, and was quickly firing away at the Longsword. Chief flew towards the planet, and more Covy ships joined the assault. He was getting tons of damage to the ship. He rushed by a moon, and soon entered the atmosphere. The ship started to flame from the friction. He looked on the radar, none of the Covy ships had tracked him through the atmosphere. He saw white clouds rush up at him, then through them, and saw green for a split second before slamming into the ground. Dirt was thrown up on all sides and flew up into the air.
The Chief groaned, and got up slowly. He felt extremely dizzy. "Chief, Chief? Are you ok?!" Cortana said.
"Yeah yeah I'm fine, you're giving me a headache though," he replied. He had to get out of there, fast. He went to a storage area, and grabbed supplies. He took rations, an MA5B assault rifle, an M6D pistol, and about 20 fragmentation grenades, and 20 plasma grenades. He holstered the pistol, slung the MA5B on his shoulder, and attached 8 grenades to his suit. He put the rest in a back pack. He ran through the long corridors of the ship, and reached the vehicle area. He opened a hatch at the back of a ship, then got into a Warthog, and started the engine. He drove out the doorway.

The Flood combat form was hurting like hell. The collision could have killed him. He got up and felt bones crack, but they just reformed. He had heard some yelling earlier, and felt something hitting the ship, then the ship slamming into the ground. He looked around and saw light coming in on the opposite side of the room. He heard someone coming, and then an engine being started. He ran to the door and saw a Warthog drive out of the ship and into the forest.
The ex-Marine, two other combat forms and some infection forms had rushed onto the Longsword on Halo, just before Chief got into it and flew away. They knew this human would kill them if he saw them, so they hid in a cargo storage room, from which the ex-Marine and its cohort had acquired MA5Bs. They had been living off a dead Elite. He had fallen asleep for a very long time and then he felt the plasma bolts slamming into the ship.
Now he had to get off, and bring the infection forms with him. This was the Flood's opportunity. They could infect a whole planet full of potential hosts. He let the infection forms attach to him, grabbed his rifle, and ran out of the ship, the other two close behind.

"Damnit, that crash will attract some troops for sure," he said. Sure enough, a Covy dropship appeared, and instantly spotted the Warthog. It started firing from the Shade, and set down. About 15 soldiers came out, and fired at the Warthog. Chief got out and ran up a hill, reached the peak, and started running down the other side.
He ran down the hill, plasma rounds whizzing by his head. There was a huge field, with mountains on either side, and a cliff, and a rock formation to the left. He dove behind a rock and took out a frag grenade. He threw it over the rock and heard Grunts yelling and an explosion. He looked over the rock, and fired his assault rifle, taking out several Grunts. He got hit with plasma shots being fired by an Elite. The shield protected him though. He took out his pistol and used the scope, and shot the Elite 3 times, taking out his shield. Chief then ran out and quickly threw a plasma grenade at the Elite, and it stuck to him. The Elite cried out in anguish, knowing he was about to die. It exploded and the Elite went flying.
Two Jackals started firing thier plasma pistols at Chief. One charged up the pistol, and fired, taking out the shield. Chief quickly dove and rolled behind a tree. Chief waited, the shield regenerated. He looked out again and there was a Grunt right there. He yelled in surprise and Chief shot him with the pistol. He picked up the Grunt's needler. He looked out and threw a frag grenade at the Jackals. They screamed and the grenade exploded, sending them flying.
Chief looked to the right, and saw another Elite. He aimed the needler, and fired the whole magazine at it, all 20 needles homing in on the Elite, and there were 3 huge purple explosions, and the Elite flew up 10 feet in the air, and fell to the ground hard. He reloaded the needler, then felt several plasma shots hit him. He quickly spun around and fired the needler, 5 needles at each of the 3 Grunts. The needles exploded, killing the Grunts.
He then saw two Hunters charging down the hill right at him. He took out his assault rifle and started firing while running backwards. One Hunter fired a fuel rod blast at him, but he jumped over it. He ran to the cliff edge, and waited for a Hunter to come at him. One did, charging at him, and swung his huge metal shield at Chief. he dove off to the side, and got up fast. The Hunter was teetering on the edge of the cliff. Chief ran at him and hit him with his shoulder, with just enough force to knock him off the cliff. He screamed as he fell 100 feet to the ground below. The other Hunter fired a fuel rod blast at Chief. He dove and barely avoided the blast. He took out a plasma grenade and stuck it on the Hunter, then took out the pistol and started firing bullets at him. The grenade exploded but the Hunter was still alive, they were very tough. The Hunter came at Chief, and Chief jumped into the air over his head, but he swung his shield up and whacked the Spartan, whipping him 10 feet in the air. He fell to the ground hard. He saw the Hunter charging up its fuel rod cannon. Chief took out his pistol, and aimed carefully at the exposed orange skin, and fired. The Hunter yelled and fell to the ground, and the fuel rod blast went flying off to the side. The Hunter got up though, but Chief ran behind him, and shot at the exposed orange skin on his back 3 times. He fell to the ground again, dead.
Chief sat on the ground, exhausted. But then he heard a noise from behind. He spun around, an Elite was creeping up behind him, ready to kill the Chief. He yelled and fired his plasma rifle at Chief. The Spartan's only hope was a grenade, and he threw one at the ground near the Elite's foot. It exploded, but the Elite had already ran and dove to the side. That gave Chief time to take out his pistol and shoot the Elite in the head. Chief fired 5 rounds, killing it. He knew there were probably more coming, though.
He heard the familiar engine of a Banshee. He quickly hid in a rock formation. He saw a Banshee fly overhead, and took out his pistol and fired a whole clip at it. It started smoking, and it turned around, ready to fire a fuel rod blast at him. Chief reloaded and kept firing. It fired right at the rocks. He lay on the ground and covered his head, and heard a huge explosion. He felt his skin burning from the blast. Chief aimed at the Banshee again. It was circling back, and Chief fired 6 shots at it, and it exploded.
All of a sudden a Ghost went flying over the rocks. 'Crazy fucking Elites' Chief thought. He ran out of the rock formation, and saw the Ghost. It started firing its plasma cannons at Chief, and he threw a plasma grenade on it. The Elite bailed out of the Ghost, and it exploded. Chief took out his needler and fired 20 needles at the Elite, and they exploded on him, and he died.
Chief walked back to the Hunter, and pried the fuel rod cannon off its arm. He climbed up the hill, and peered over it. The dropship was still there, waiting to pick up passengers. Chief carefully aimed the cannon, and fired. The bright green plasma splashed against the side of the dropship with a loud explosion. Chief fired three more rounds, and finally hit one of the engines. The dropship stopped its ascent and came crashing down.

The Grunts screamed in terror as the ship hit the ground, sending them flying from one end of the ship to the other. Kluka 'Kamamee, a gold-armoured Elite, screamed as well. The ship shuddered to a halt. The Grunts were shrieking as piled out of the ship and started to run. Kluka yelled "Ishtoushtibibbil!" at them but they payed no attention. They ran off into the forest. Klukee swore at them, and got out of the ship.
He looked up the hill, and saw the Warthog, but no humans. He ventured out to destroy the vermin who, definitly by luck, had stolen a fuel rod cannon and shot his ship down. He wondered how the hell the human had managed to defeat 15 Covenant soldiers. He went out quietly, towards the Warthog, and kept looking over his shoulder. He inched closer to the Warthog, and bent down to look under it. He spotted feet. "Hahaha! Wort wort wort!" he yelled, and vaulted himself over the Warthog, and felt something smash his face, and he fell to the ground, he quickly got up and swung his plasma rifle, but missed the human. He felt something strike his foot, and he looked down in horror at the glowing blue ball. "NOOOO!" he screamed, lifting his leg and trying to claw the grenade off, but to no avail, it exploded, and he was sent flying into the air. He was still alive, the gold armour protected him well, and he looked down, to see a green flash fly up at him and explode onto his body, and it instantly killed him, and sent his body flying so far it reached the forest, and fell down through the leaves, and landed on top of a fleeing Grunt.

"Tough sons a bitches," Chief said, watching the Elite crash into the forest, his cannon smoking. He threw the cannon to the ground. He got into the Warthog and started it up again, and drove down the hill, and past the rock formation, into the mountains.

Spartan II: Stranded Chapter 2: Infection

Nadax the Grunt ran through the forest, arms flailing in panic. He heard a loud thump, and he looked over to his right. He saw an Elite's dead body, and he rushed over to it. He recognized the Elite, it was Kluka, his commander, well, former commander. He heard a groan, and called to the other Grunts for help. As second in command, he was the leader of this group now. There were about 10 Grunts in the party. He ordered the Grunts to lift the Elite's body. Underneath it lay Fopal, one of Nadax's good griends. "Fopal! Are you alright?" he squealed.
"Oww...," he groaned. "Help me..." he said, before passing out.
"You two!" he said, pointing at a pair of Grunts. "Pick him up and carry him!"
"Yes sir," one said, and they picked Fopal up.
"Everyone, follow me," Nadax said, and marched forward through the forest. The trek passed uneventfully, and they were getting very tired, and then Nadax heard a kind of slurping noise. "Everyone stop!" he yelled. "Do you hear that?" he said. Some of the Grunts started shaking nervously. "Unholster your plasma pistols," he ordered. He heard rustling in a bush to the left. "Fire!" he cried and everyone fired their pistols at the bush, and Nadax took out a plasma grenade and threw it into the bush, and there was a huge explosion. He felt something land on his head. "Ahhhh!" he screamed. "Help me you fools!" he shrieked, as he felt something punch his head. He felt the weight get torn off as the Grunts fired the pistols. He turned around and looked at the hideous creature that had attacked him. It looked like a human, except it was brown and dead looking, and looked distorted. It held a rifle in its hand. It started to rise. "What the hell?!" he said, and fired his pistol at it again, but it kept getting up, so he threw a grenade at it, and blew it apart.
All the Grunts got into a tight circle, looking outward. They charged up their pistols, and then a creature jumped out of nowhere and slashed at a Grunt, knocking it out. Some tiny ball things jumped off the skin of the creature and attached themselves to some of the Grunts. They all fired at once and didn't stop. Their pistols were running low on energy. Another creature jumped in and fired its rifle, and killed two of the Grunts. The Grunts that had the ball things attached to them started screaming, and fell to the ground, and started turning brown. The other Grunts started shrieking in terror. Nadax fled, and tried to drag Fopal away from the battle. A creature jumped high into the air and landed in front of Nadax. Nadax dropped Fopal and fired his pistol, but the creature kept coming. He threw a grenade at the creature and just missed it. The grenade exploded behind the creature, and it was knocked down on its face. Nadax ran up to it and started whacking it over the head, and then felt something prick into his neck. "Ahhh!" Nadax screamed, and clawed at the ball attached to his neck. He slapped his hand on it and it exploded. He looked over at Fopal and saw three ball things attached to him. The creature was back up, and walking towards Nadax. Nadax took out his pistol and fired at the hideous bastard, then turned and ran. The creature ran after Nadax, and slashed at him, knocking him to the ground. Nadax fell on his face in the dirt. He turned over and fired his pistol. He fired four bolts and then it stopped, and the pistol started up its alarm, signifying the pistol was out of energy. Nadax lay on the ground, crying "No, no, no...please no." The creature pointed the rifle at Nadax's head, and fired.

The Flood fired his rifle at another Grunt that was fleeing. He hit the Grunt's legs and it fell to the ground. Some infection forms quickly bounced over and started to attach. The Grunt screamed, then was cut short. Not a bad haul, seven out of ten Grunts infected, though one of the ex-Marines had been destroyed with a grenade by a tough Grunt. The infection had begun.
They would have to infect 100s more in secret though, before a formidable army could be arranged to fight the Covenant head-on. They poked around in the mind of a Grunt, and found out there was a Covenant city nearby. They started to run towards the city. They travelled through the forest for about half an hour, before reaching the outskirts of the city. Hover cars were abundant in the streets. An ex-Grunt took out a plasma grenade and threw it into an intersection. It exploded, overturning some cars. Grunts crawled out of their cars only to be overrun by infection forms. Hundreds of Grunts were being infected. The Flood were breaking down doors and taking every Grunt in the area. They now had enough combat forms to take a military base. They quickly located one and started their march.

'Yamamee, a gold armoured Elite, was checking the weapons inventory of a cargo room. He counted 10 crates of grenades, 200 plasma rifles, 200 plasma pistols, 200 needlers, 20 energy swords, and 20 fuel rod cannons. There was also a crate of wristbands, that produced energy shields, which Jackals used. 'Perfect,' he thought. He grabbed an energy sword, admiring it. He attached the handle piece to his belt. He opened a crate of grenades, and took out 5, attaching them to his belt. He already had a plasma rifle holstered.
All of a sudden, he heard some screaming. Someone yelled over the COM channel, "We are under attack! I repeat, we are under attack! All troops to platform 3!" An alarm sounded. 'Yamamee left the room, rushing to platform 3. He went through several long corridors before reaching it. He looked out from the entrance. Grunts and Jackals were firing pistols at some hideous brown coloured creatures. Elites were yelling orders and firing their rifles. 'Yamamee aimed his rifle and fired at the creatures. One took about 20 blasts before going down. There were hundreds of tiny ones that looked almost like Grunts. They started jumping high into the air and slashing the Grunt soldiers. There were 2 large creatures, commanding the field. Huge bulbous creatures rushed into the fray, like they were unaware of they firefight. Two exploded after getting shot several times, but about ten of them got close to the Jackals and exploded, sending them flying. One landed near 'Yamamee. The Jackal was dead. 'Yamamee threw a grenade and it landed on a bulbous creatures legs. The grenade exploded and the creature went flying up, so high that 'Yamamee lost track of him. 'They must be full of air,' he thought. He was wrong. He saw one explode, and tiny balls came out and started attaching themselves to a Grunt. The Grunt screamed and fell to the ground, clawing at the ball. Yamamee fired his rifle at the ball and hit it. The one that had flown into the air landed right beside 'Yamamee. It started to expand and Yamamee ran from it, and got away from the blast. His forcefield was protecting him from the tiny ball things. They just exploded on it. Yamamee took out his energy sword and activated it. He jumped into the battle, slicing the air and hitting the creatures. He sliced about ten in half. He accidentaly hit a Grunt. He took out a grenade and threw it at a pack of the balls. They all exploded.
There were too many of them. There were still hundreds of the browns, and the Covenant were down to 30. He heard an Elite comrade screaming. 'Yamamee looked over and saw the balls attached to him. His comrade was Talu, a purple Elite. "No!" he yelled. Yamamee rushed over. Talu fell to the ground, and started turning brown, like the other creatures. 'Yamamee pushed his way through the creatures, slicing them open with his sword. He reached Talu, and said, "Talu! Talu! Are you alright?" Talu's eyes opened. He slashed at Yamamee, knocking him to the ground. 'Yamamee picked his sword up and sliced the air near Talu's head, just missed. Talu jumped away, into a crowd of Grunt and Jackal soldiers. Reinforcements arrived, two Hunters. Yamamee knew it was too late now. All the Elites were turning into those things. The Hunters were swinging their shields wildly. They easily annilated 20 of the creatures. They fired fuel rod blasts, and took out 30 more. They also killed the rest of the Grunt and Jackal soldiers though. 'Yamamee turned and fled to the forest, slicing his way through the creatures.

The Hunter and his bond brother were killing like no tomorrow. They were the only Covy left in this fight. One Hunter fired at a huge pack of infection forms. He then felt hundreds of tiny pricks in his back, near the exposed area of his armour. The Hunter cried out in anguish, and fell face first into the ground. He was getting infected. The other Hunter rushed over, swinging his shield and sending the Flood flying. One ex-Marine jumped on his back and started biting him. Some Carriers rushed over and exploded beside the Hunter. He went down, overwhelmed by pain. Infection forms swarmed on the Hunters, taking them over.
The Flood had won the battle. They stormed into the base and found hundreds of weapons. One room contained 650 weapons. All of the Flood combat forms took a weapon. The ex-Marine leader threw away his MA5B, it was very low an ammo. He grabbed a fuel rod cannon, and slung it on his back. He also holstered a plasma rifle. They all took at least 2 grenades each. The Flood now had an army of over 1000 combat forms. Most were Grunts, however. There now were two Marines, two Hunters, about 50 Elites, and about 100 Jackals. There were also 10 Banshees at this base, and 20 Ghosts, and one Wraith. The two dropships had evacuated with some troops. Still, this was a huge victory for the Flood. The ex-Marine was much smarter since the Halo event. The Flood could poke deeper into the host's mind, and assume the host's intelligence now. He would make up a basic military structure. The weaker Elites would pilot vehicles. The remaining 20 Elites would command smaller regiments made of 40 Grunts and five Jackals. The other Marine would be the second-in-command. There were still hundreds of carriers and thousands of infection forms.
The Marine commander gathered his army, and they left the base. The Banshees did air patrol, with the Ghosts surrounding the army. They would protect the army from attack. The Wraith was in the middle. They advanced towards the city again. The city had a population of over 30 million. They had to build up the army, fast, before the Covenant realized how huge the threat was and sent in a massive force. The advanced, destroying every building in the army's path. The infection forms overran hundreds of Grunts. Some had to be killed, as they put up too much of a fight, since a lot carried plasma pistols for personal safety. Most were easily taken prisoner.

Mupfaa, a civilian Grunt, was watching his favourite show on his computer, when a news break came up. "Great," Mupfaa said, angered that his show had been interrupted.
Grunt reporter sat at a desk, clearly frightened. Mupfaa leaned in closer. "This is an emergency! Everyone must evacuate the city! Dropships will soon come to your neighbourhood. We have a report of thousands of alien creatures attacking the city! The Prophets say they are not human, I repeat, not human, and they are a much bigger threat than humans. Everyone must leave their homes. You are only allowed to bring 50 units of high-density product. You are also advised to bring any plasma weapons with you. This is not a test. Goodbye."
The computer screen went black, and returned to the desktop. Mupfaa quickly gathered some of his treasured belongings, and a plasma pistol. He ran outside. Twenty of his neighbours were standing in the middle of the street. Mupfaa ran over to them. "Does anyone know what is happening?" he asked.
One turned and said, "I just got back. I was on the west side of the city, and I saw tons of Ghosts and Banshees. I didn't think much of it, until I saw them blowing up buildings and shooting people. I drove back here. It was horrible. I saw some ugly creatures. They were uglier than humans, if you can believe it."
Mupfaa was very frightened by this new information. He hoped a dropship came soon. They all stood for 5 units, silent. Mupfaa heard the roar of a dropship engine. He looked up at the sky, and saw one fly towards his neighbourhood. He started yellign and waving, and so did the others. It slowly descended. Mupfaa then heard a new noise, it sounded like a Banshee. He looked to the left, and saw lots of them, heading his way. The ground started to rumble. The dropship descended faster. Mupfaa felt a sense of dread. The Dropship landed, and Mupfaa jumped onto it, and so ddi everyone else. The dropship flew back up into the sky. Mupfaa looked out a window and saw Banshees flying right for the ship. The Shade started to fire, hitting the Banshees. They all started to fire at the ship. The Shade disabled one, then the ship started to pull away. The Banshees were too slow to keep up. Mepfaa sighed a sense of relief. He looked down to the street. He was horrified. All he saw was brown. He also saw a Wraith. The Wraith fired a huge plasma mortar at the dropship. The dropship accelerated, and the mortar just missed. All the Grunts were panicking. Thankfully, the dropship veered upwards, so far that they could barely see the huge army. Mupfaa yelled at everyoen to calm down, and said they were all right. They all calmed down. One was hyperventiliating. A Grunt beside him comforted him. Mupfaa was scared. He never thought he would be scared. How could the Covenant fear anything? They shouldn't fear anything. They were the superior group of the universe. No one can defeat them. Yet Mupfaa was still scared. Scared this new alien could kill them all.

Chapter 3: Friendship
Date: 17 May 2003, 2:25 AM

'Yamamee crashed through the bush, running in terror of those things. He leaped over a tree trunk and felt a rifle butt smash into his stomach. "Argh!" he yelled, and doubled over. His rifle and sword were ripped from his hands. Master Chief put 'Yamamee in a headlock.
"Can you speak English?" Chief said.
"Yes, I studied your language," 'Yamamee choked out.
"Good. Why are you running around in the forest alone?" Chief said.
"Some... things came to my base and attacked us, and I fled," 'Yamamee replied
"So, you're a coward?" Chief said.
'Yamamee scowled. "You would have run, too."
"What did these things look like?" Chief asked.
"They were brownish, some looked human, there were thousands of these little ball things, and some creatures that exploded," 'Yamamee said.
"Oh no..." Chief said. "How the hell did they get here?" he said to himself.
"I don't know, but two of them carried human weapons," 'Yamamee said.
Chief now knew how they got here. They got on his Longsword. They must have, the Covie ships wouldn't carry human weapons. They never used them. "How many soldiers were at your base? What vehicles did you have?" Chief asked.
"Over 1000 soldiers, 10 Banshees, 20 Ghosts, and one Wraith," 'Yamamee said.
"Well," Chief said, "Your city is now theirs. What is your name?"
"My name is 'Yamamee, yours?"
"Master Chief. 'Yamamee, I would like to propose an alliance with you, for now. Do you accept? If you do not, I will be forced to kill you. I think we will need each other to survive this ordeal."
'Yamamee thought about it. Alliance with a human? Unthinkable in normal circumstances. But this was not normal, these new aliens would easily beat him if he was alone.
"I think an alliance is in order," 'Yamamee replied, "But do you know what those things are?"
"Yes, yes I do," Master Chief said. "They are called the Flood. They were on a ring-shaped world called Halo. My ship crashed there, and we were having a conflict between us and the Covenant, when my Captain discovered the Flood. They infected him, and I had to kill him. An AI named 343 Guilty Spark found me shortly, and explained most of the story to me. Halo was a weapon, it killed all of the Flood's food, which are humans, Covenant, anything sentient, and Guilty Spark wanted me to activate the ring. I didn't, I went to my downed ship and activated the self-destruct on it, and destroyed Halo. I escaped on a single fighter, and I guess some Flood got onto my ship. They only have one purpose: infect every last sentient being in the universe."
"These things, could they defeat the Covenant?" 'Yamamee said.
"Yes they could. They might take this planet. And then you'd have to glass your own planet to stop the Flood." Chief let 'Yamamee out of the headlock. He heard engines of dropships. 100s were flying overhead. "They are attempting to evacuate the city. I fear it is much too late for that. Walk with me." Master Chief started walking through the forest. "Tell me where your city is, exactly."
"I'll lead," 'Yamamee said. He walked ahead of the Chief. "Why are we heading back? Aren't you afraid?"
"I am never afraid," the Chief replied. "I want to see them for myself," he added. 'Yamamee continued his walk. Soon huge buildings loomed above the trees. "Start running," Chief said, and increased his pace. 'Yamamee started to run through the forest, and Chief was close behind. They left the forest behind, to be welcomed by huge piles of rubble. 'Yamamee looked at the damage, stunned. Master Chief knelt down and peered at some green blood. "They will continue this rampage until the city is out of commission," he said. "Follow the trail of destruction. We'll have to run to catch up. If you see a car, tell me." Master Chief started to run, but he didn't put a lot of effort into it, 'Yamamee was too slow.
'Yamamee looked into a driveway and spotted a car. "There's one!" he shouted. Chief took out his assault rifle and pointed it at the driveway. "I meant there is a car," 'Yamamee said.
Chief relaxed. "Good work," he said, and headed towards the car. He opened the door and spotted a cowering Grunt. "Hey you! Get out!" The Grunt looked up, confused, and then spotted Chief in his armour. He huddled down again.
'Yamamee came over and spoke to the Grunt in his own language. The Grunt spoke back, then got in the back seat of the car. "He's coming with us," 'Yamamee said.
Master Chief was not happy. "Frankly, I think he'd be safer here."
"I will protect him, let him come," 'Yamamee said.
"Fine, he can come," Chief said. 'Yamamee got in the driver's seat, and started the engine. Chief got in the side seat. They drove out the driveway, and accelerated. They drove for about ten minutes, and then saw a Banshee in the distance. Chief took out his MA5B.
There was a huge battle a kilometer ahead. There were thousands of soldiers. 'Yamamee continued to drive for another half-kilometer, then Chief told him to stop.
"We should proceed more stealthily," Chief said. He got out and started to walk.
"What about him?" 'Yamamee said, pointing at the Grunt.
"I told you you should have left him," Chief said.
"Well I couldn't leave him with no getaway vehicle," 'Yamamee said.
"Let him take the car then. We won't need one. And if we do, I'm sure we'll come across another one," Chief replied. 'Yamamee talked to the Grunt, and the Grunt got in the driver's seat. Chief heard a slight noise. He turned around, and saw a Ghost coming. "'Yamamee! Hide!" he yelled. He ran into a nearby building.
'Yamamee rushed into the doorway. The Grunt was trying to start the engine, but it wasn't working. The Ghost was 100 meters away. The Grunt started to panic. The engine wouldn't start. The Ghost started firing. It was right there. The Grunt got out and started running. The car exploded, and the Grunt was sent flying headfirst into the building. "NOOO!" 'Yamamee screamed. 'Yamamee rushed out and ran towards the Ghost, and the pilot was unaware of 'Yamamee. 'Yamamee ran up, and dropkicked the Flood out of the Ghost. 'Yamamee took out his sword and sliced the ex-Elite's limbs off. 'Yamamee was seeing red. He started cursing in Elitian, and punched and kicked the Flood. He took out his sword again, and stabbed down into the Flood's stomach. It was still alive though. 'Yamamee kept stabbing it in the chest, and it died. 'Yamamee raised his foot and crushed the Flood's head. He took out a grenade, gripped it in his hand, and punched down through the Flood's chest, then activated it, and then he ran away, and the ex-Elite was blown into a million pieces. 'Yamamee then went over to the dead Grunt's body, and prayed for the Grunt. Master Chief looked on in admiration of the Elite's intensity.
"Let's go," 'Yamamee said, getting on the Ghost. Chief started to run at max speed, while the Ghost flew off ahead. They came across a few Flood that were lagging behind. 'Yamamee shot them with the plasma cannons before they could raise their weapons. One started to run, but Chief cut him down with rifle fire. One was carrying a plasma sniper rifle. Chief slung his assault rifle on his arm, and picked up the sniper rifle.
"'Yamamee! Is this rifle any good?" he asked.
"The bullet's velocity is higher than human sniper rifles, and can zoom farther," 'Yamamee replied.
Chief aimed at a wall and fired. He saw a green flash and then saw a hole appear in the wall. 'Much faster than a plasma rifle,' Chief thought. He could easily see plasma rifle and pistol blasts, but this rifle's blasts were too fast for him to track. He looked into the scope, and increased the zoom. He zoomed so far he could make out a Flood's ear. He fired, and the ex-Jackal's head was blown off. Some other Flood turned and looked towards Chief, but Chief was too far away for them to see. Chief could also see that there were thousands of them, and knew it was hopeless to try and fight them. "'Yamamee, we should head back. There are too many Flood."
"I will not turn back," 'Yamamee said. "Those things destroyed my base. I will not be a coward again."
"You can go by yourself, and I will stay here and snipe them, but there is no way I am going into that battle," Chief said.
"Fine. I will go by myself," 'Yamamee said. 'Yamamee got out of the Ghost. "You'll need it later," he said. He ran towards the fight, yelling a war cry. Chief knelt down, and looked into the scope. He aimed at an ex-Elite's head, and fired, taking it down in two shots. He saw 'Yamamee, slicing open ex-Grunts, and firing his rifle at ex-Jackals. He saw one charge up a pistol, and Chief sniped him, and the blast flew off to the side and killed a carrier form, which exploded and killed several others. Chief continued to snipe while 'Yamamee kicked and fought to the death.

'Yamamee was angry. One of the ex-Grunts had shot his leg. He swiped at its head, slicing it in half. 'Yamamee spotted more Flood coming, and was being overwhelmed by plasma fire. Several were shot down by Chief. 'Yamamee charged into them, blade first, cutting through five of them. He spun to the right, cutting through two more, then fired his rifle at another. An ex-Elite had appeared, carrying a sword of its own. It ran at 'Yamamee, and swung the sword. 'Yamamee blocked it. 'Yamamee threw his rifle to the ground, and gripped his sword with two hands. He swung at the ex-Elite's legs, but it blocked him with its own sword. 'Yamamee then swung at one of the arms, and cut it off. The ex-Elite countered with a stab to 'Yamamee's leg. 'Yamamee cried out in pain, and fell to one knee. The ex-Elite raised its sword, preparing to stab down into 'Yamamee's head, but 'Yamamee thrust upward into its stomach, and then cut its head off. He picked up the other sword, and was swinging wildly with both of them. He was on a rampage. Flood were dropping left and right. 'Yamamee's injury was slowing him down, though. An ex-Grunt fired its pistol at 'Yamamee, and took out his shield.Several others fired, and 'Yamamee felt a burning sensation in his leg. He fell to the ground, dropping his swords. He quickly threw all but one of his grenades at the crowds of Flood that were inching closer. He took out his pistol and started firing, but he was surrounded, and they started slashing at him. He fell to the ground, overwhelmed. He felt tiny pricks all over his body. He took out his last grenade. "You will not take me!" he screamed, activating the grenade, and blew himself and the Flood on top of him apart.

Chapter 4: Rescue
Date: 30 May 2003, 1:18 AM

Chief continued sniping after the explosion. Some spotted him, and Chief ran back to a building. He got in the Ghost, and started the engine. He drove at full speed back to the forest. He got there in 15 minutes, and found a narrow path in the forest. The Ghost barely fit. Chief kept driving for another three minutes, before arriving at a clearing. His Warthog was parked near a tree.
Chief got out of the Ghost and ran over to his Warthog. He grabbed some clips of ammo that were lying in the back, then got in the driver's seat. He turned the 'Hog around and looked across the clearing, and caught a glimpse of movement. He peered closer, and saw what it was. Chief floored it across the clearing, and about ten combat form Flood rushed out, only to be obliterated by the 'Hog's front bumper. One had jumped out of the way, however. Chief jumped out of the seat, and got on the back. He aimed the machine gun at the Flood, and fired, tearing it apart. It was a good thing he was using the machine gun, because tons of Flood rushed out of the forest afterwards. Chief turned and fired, and saw green blood and pieces of flesh fly. One threw a plasma grenade at the 'Hog, but just missed Chief's head. Chief picked up a frag grenade that was lying in the back and threw it into the pile of Flood corpses, blowing them apart. He wanted to make sure those bastards were dead.
"Banshee incoming!" Cortana yelled. Chief looked upwards, spotting the Banshee. He aimed the machine gun and fired, taking down the Banshee in seconds.
"I was starting to miss that voice," Chief said.
"I was trying to hack into Covenant files," Cortana said. "Not too much though, I only found out how much it costs for a gallon of food nipple beverage."
"I wonder what happened to that Grunt," Chief said, recalling the last Grunt he heard speak on Halo.
"I'll keep trying to find information, there has to be something useful," Cortana said.
"Alright, keep me informed," Chief replied as he fired at a few more enemies. He waited a few moments before crawling off the back, assault rifle aimed at the bushes. He got back in driver's seat, and wondered what to do. He thought about the Longsword, and thought maybe he should restock on supplies, unless the Longsword was destroyed. He still had a lot of supplies though. His question was answered by Cortana, with startling information.
"I found out something rather interesting," she said. "There is a prison nearby, holding four Marines."
"What?!" Chief said. "Where?"
"I'll give you a nav point on your HUD," she replied. Red arrows pointed, showing a distance of 30 kilometres.
"I have to save them," Chief said.
"I thought you might say that," Cortana said as Chief turned the 'Hog towards the nav point, and stepped on the pedal. The 'Hog lurched forward through the foliage. Chief activated the long-range motion detector on the 'Hog. No enemies were showing up on the detector for a five kilometre radius. Chief kept driving for another 10 minutes, bumping up and down over rocks and fallen branches.
The forest was dark, the canopy did not want to let the light in. Soon hundreds or dots appeared, as Chief neared the prison. He wondered if the Flood had taken the prison. He kept driving, and heard gunfire in the distance. He was getting close. He parked the 'Hog near a tree, and took out his assault rifle. He ran through the bushes, and kept watch of his motion detector. He was almost at the prison. He ran up a small hill, and looked down at the prison.
He saw plasma flying through the air at all angles. The Flood and Covenant were having another fight. Chief ran down the hill, straight at the prison. There weren't too many enemies, and he thought they'd be more concerned with each other. He took out his plasma sniper rifle, and searched the battleground. He looked over to the other sides, away from the battle. He saw a faint green glow. He zoomed closer, and saw active camouflage. Perfect, he thought.
He ran around to the other side, and then ran at the prison. He watched closely. There might have been an invisible Elite. He saw no ripples in the air, and ran in, picking up the camouflage and activating it. He looked down at himself, and could only see a faint trace. He ran around the prison again, back to the battle. He made sure to stay away from plasma fire. He came up to a Gold Elite, and meleed it in the back, killing it. He saw Elites streaming through an open door. He ran up to it, and tossed a frag grenade, sending a few Elites flying through the doorway. He ran in during the confusion.
"Cortana," he whispered. "Where are the Marines?"
"Turn left at the first corridor, then right at the next. You'll come up to them eventually," she replied.
Chief walked down the hallway, and saw the first corridor. He ran through, until coming up to another corridor that led to the right. He turned down it, and ran for another 20 seconds, before coming to a cell. In it were the Marines. "Cortana, deactivate those plasma bars."
"Done," Cortana said a moment later, and Chief watched as the bars disintegrated. The Marines looked a little surprised.
"Marines!" Chief said. They all looked up, and had a look of confusion as they could not see the Chief. Chief deactivated the camouflage. They looked at the Spartan, wide-eyed.
"Are you a....a Spartan?" one asked.
"Yes I am. I crashed here, but I have no time for explanation right now. We have to get the hell out of here," Chief said. "Did they keep your uniforms?" he added, taking note that they only wore ragged t-shirts and shorts.
"Yes they did," another said. "In those lockers, right behind you."
Chief turned, and saw some odd-looking storage units. He kicked them open. He took a uniform out and looked at it. "Which one of you is Private Smith?" he asked. A skinny, tall, bald Marine stood up, saluting Chief. Chief returned the salute, and threw him the uniform. "Who is Private Wallace?"
"I am, sir," a muscular, brown haired man said as he saluted. Chief handed him the uniform and returned the salute.
"Private Mann," Chief said. A short, blonde haired Marine stood up, saluted the Chief, and took the uniform. "And you must be Sargeant Anderson," Chief said, looking at a stocky black haired man. Anderson saluted, and took the uniform.
You can use this sniper rifle for now, Sargeant," Chief said, taking out the sniper rifle and handing it to Anderson.
Anderson took the rifle, and looked at it. "Thanks," he said. "And you can use this pistol, Wallace," Chief said, throwing him the pistol.
"This won't be an easy escape, Marines. We're gonna have to run fast. I'm sure you can make it, though. I'll lead, and take out as many enemies before they can see me. Let's go!" Chief ran down the corridors, Marines close behind. He saw an Elite at the door, firing at Flood. Chief ran up and meleed him to death. He fired his rifle at some Grunts and Jackals, cutting them down. The Marines ran out, Sarge firing the rifle, and Smith taking down a couple of Grunts with his pistol. "Run Marines, run!" Chief yelled, standing in front of them and taking the blows with his shield. They ran up the hill, Chief close behind. Chief's shield was low, but the Flood and Covenant were fighting each other again. Chief ran, and easily caught up to the Marines.
They reached the 'Hog, and Chief started the engine. Mann got on the back, handling the machine gun. Sarge sat in the side, Smith squeezed in beside him, and Wallace sat on the back, holding tightly to an object, while aiming the pistol with his other hand. Chief floored it, driving away from the prison. Chief explained what happened during the ride, but had to tell certain parts over because of the noise. Chief was driving back to the Longsword, where the Marines could get supplies. They came across Flood a few times, but they either got ran down or gunned down. They drove across the field where Chief had encountered his first enemies. The destroyed Banshee and Ghost still lay there, along with Covenant bodies. They drove over the rise, and Chief spotted 'Kamamee's corpse, and the downed dropship. Chief steered away from the dropship, and drove into the forest again. Stray combat forms ran into the path, and Mann tore them to pieces with machine gun fire. Anderson threw a grenade which Chief had given him, and destroyed several more. One jumped up and landed on Smith's head.
"AHH!" he screamed, trying to knock it off. Chief took out a plasma grenade and stuck it on the ex-Elite's face, then grabbed its arm and threw it high into the air, and a huge blue explosion blew it to pieces. Anderson fired the sniper rifle, picking off three of them, and Mann finished the rest off. Chief kept going, and spotted a huge grey object in the distance.
"Is that the bird you came in on?!" Wallace yelled.
"Yep," Chief said. They soon reached it, and Chief drove up to the back. Wallace got out, and lowered the ramp. He ran inside, and Chief drove in, and Wallace closed the entrance again.
Chief led them to weapons storage, where he grabbed some new clips of ammo. Anderson grabbed an assault rifle and sniper rifle, Mann grabbed a pistol and shotgun, Wallace grabbed a rocket launcher and pistol, and Smith got an assault rifle and pistol. They all grabbed eight frag grenades. Chief got 20.
They decided to stay and rest, Mann would take the first watch. He sat in the control room and watched for enemies on the motion tracker. Chief was surprised the damn thing still operated. He was eager to go to sleep. He saluted the rest of the Marines, and headed to a bunk.
