Halo 2: Jupiter
Date: 16 July 2002, 6:08 am

This is my very first FanFic...I'm not that great of an writer but i'm trying my best. Any feedback would be appreciated. Post it up on this forum or email me at SuperChink316@Hotmail.com. Also most of the facts in the story I made up.

Jupiter : Roman Mythology: The ruler of all the Gods in Roman Mythology.
Astronomy: The fifth planet from the sun, the largestand most massive in the solar system.

When I was young I would keep wondering why the largest planet was named after Jupiter. I was 10 at the time that an idea struck me. The ruler of the Gods was named after the planet. I was still confused and that very day I decided against thinking about it again. During that time I was aware but still naive to the war around me, the war with the Covenant. My father was a high level captain and I was always at the starport where he worked. I would always pester him to stop working and play with me. He did....sometimes. But then one day he disappeared. The fist thing I did after my discovery was talk to Mom. She said that he had to go on a very important mission. Mom also told me that he would be back after a few weeks. Well, I waited...and waited...and waited...and waited...days, weeks, months, years. They all pass, yet I kept waiting. It seemed like all time had stopped until he came back. Mom started to cry just a few months after he left. She just kept crying and crying everyday. My uncle took care of my mom and me. He would come over to stop her from crying but she didn't listen. But that didn't matter, Dad would be back soon. I was about 14 one day when I saw the letter next to Mom's dresser. It was a KIA slip....about my father. I couldn't believe it. At first I was angry because she kept this all from me. She kept me from the truth about my father. Then I was just in shock. He was dead. I had waited and waited and waited....and he was gone. I threw a huge temper tantrum that day. I hated everyone. Of course Mom didn't know what the hell was going on...why I was being such a jackass. It took me a whole month to work this out of my system. But in my gut I knew that I had already known this...a LOOOOONNNG time ago...yet I just wouldn't believe it.

Two years after this, I decided that I would join the Marines to fight against the Covenant. Strangely, it had also been the day when the "lost" Spartan had come back with is news about the halo and the Pillar of Autumn. I was really athletic and a great strategist. The day I turned 18 I enlisted. I was immediately sent to boot camp for a quick 2-week training of hand-to-hand combat, heavy weapons training, vehicle training, strategy, and Covenant anatomy. The people at the boot camp decided I was best to handle the heavy stuff...like artillery, rockets, and mortar launchers. Now these weren't the old wimpy mortars like in the 20th century...oh no...one mortar could take out all of Paris, New York, London, Beijing, Tokyo...and any other big city you could name. Well maybe not a whole city...but at least half of it. But anyways my specialty was heavy weapons...and the new stuff...like the stuff straight out of the labs to test out....I would be the first one in my unit to see and test out the new stuff. I was the leader of the squad....kinda. More truthfully, we were a big family. Since my friends saw me join they decided to join too. And by either the luck of the draw or just some freaky willpower by me we were stuck in a unit together.

By now the humans had an advantage because of the destroyed armada of the covenant and the everyday discoveries scientists were making. Fleets of warships were being constructed near Earth, for her protection of course. Waves of warships of every variety (and the new ones with shields) were being constructed. It seemed liked the humans were winning this one. The United Galaxy Defense, which was officially declared to defend Earth and her sister planets from the covenant had pushed the remains of the armada far from Earth and gave her some breathing room. A 100 light year perimeter was made and defenses were at the utmost optimum. But the Covenant weren't stupid. While the UGD finished their perimeter, the Covenant had again made a vast armada to destroy Earth. During this time, my unit, the Knights, had seen combat against live covenant only 6 times. And most was just to mop up enemies on the colonies that they had set up. And out of those 6 times, 5 were just a series of grunts shooting at us. We were the best compared to the other squads we had encountered. Didn't we deserve something better? Some competition? I would regret those words. Just 3 days after the defenses were set up, they Covenant armada attacked. They found a weak spots between the southeastern grids of our defenses. The newly developed plasma-pods and Havoc-Missiles took care of at least 20 ships but there was still a whooping 330 some-odd ships left to deal with. UGD immediately started sending ships and marines to the scene. We volunteered to go first. I would also regret that decision too.

It was June 23rd, 2560 that we Tronos. It was a D1-class moon, which meant that it was fairly habitable with gravity about earth's force. We stormed out of Pelican 2s (the original thought to be unsafe were mounted with mini-Mac guns and also outfitted with shields projectors) and onto the high cliff where an almost collapsing bunker was under attack by the covenant. Everyone pulled out there GA1A (which were automatic Gauss rifles) and started a counter-attack. I pulled out my Class5 grenade launcher and started to pop out grenades at the many grunts and elites coming at me. If wasn't much of a fight when we finished. It was just us in our corners crushing covenant attackers. We did lose 3 people....2 to a nicely aimed fuel rod rocket and another to a covenant sniper. After the battle my squad went to the mess hall to find some grub.

"That was some of the best combat that I have ever seen," I said.
"Not that great. My arm is still singed from that plasma bolt."
"Ah quit being a pussy Joey. It doesn't look that bad..."
"HEY...SHUT YOU DAMN MOUTHES...WE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP"

We decided to do what the grumpy marine said and played cards. It was about 2100 hours when the siren went off. The covenant were back so we grabbed our gear. Plasma bolts started striking everything when I got to the top of the bunker. They had us completely off guard. Men started to fall everywhere. I got in between two pillars and started to fire with my rifle. The covenant were closing on our position. Luckily we planted mines so the first wave of intruders we destroyed. But they just kept coming and coming. There was no way that we were going to hold this position. I heard someone calling for evac. I guess that was the smartest thing to do.
"HOLY SHIT....THEY GOT ARMOR"
I looked in time to see a giant blue plasma mortar hit the top of the bunker. It collapsed the metal beam holding up the north section of the roof. If slowly collapsed as I saw metal and shrapnel fall on top of me. The pain took over me, as a large rumble was heard from my voice and forcing out a tremendous scream. Then I passed out from the pain.

Halo 2: Jupiter Chapter 1

This is the 2nd part of my fan-fic. If you didn't read the first one I suggest you do because you'll be lost on some of the parts. As I said last time, criticism and suggestions would be appreciated. Again my email is SuperChink316@Hotmail.com.

I drifted in and out of consciousness. And everytime that I was conscious, pain would rip through my body. I was too weak and dehydrated to scream and yell. I was sure that I had multiple internal injuries and I also had multiple broken bones. While I laid there drifting in and out, time seemed to stop, just like while I was waiting for Dad. I constantly thought of him and Mom. I hear explosions in the distance. They kept getting louder and closer. I felt the heat from the Havoc missiles. I could only pray and hope I would get out of this alive. Then heat engulfed me. And again a tremendous scream came out of my throat.

When I woke up again, I felt completely numb. The first thought through my head was, "was I paralyzed?". Then I cam e to my senses and realized that it was probably just the drugs. I opened my eyes and saw that I was in a completely white room I saw doctors and scientists around me. I tried to open my mouth and speak but I couldn't.

      "Ok. Prepare the nanoprobes."
      "Wait, he's awake."
"That doesn't matter, he needs the nanoprobes"
"Ok. 100 mg of nanoprobes coming up"

I kept hearing conversation like this for a few minutes and then I felt groggy. I felt kind of drowsy and sleepy. I close my eyes and fell into a slumber.

When I woke up I was in a standard hospital room. I sat up from the bed and looked around. It was a medium sized room painted in all white. I stood up and walked around. I saw the record of my injuries on the table across from my bed. I had suffered a long list of injuries. 2nd and 3rd degree burns across my whole body. My liver and stomach were severely damaged. All of my lower body bones were broken. Half of my ribs were broken while the other half were fractured. At the end of the list, I had suffered 6 severe concussions, which is why I lost consciousness so many times. Abruptly, a man walked into the room. He gave me some pain relievers, but I said that I didn't have any pain. He looked pretty surprised when I said that. I asked him where they found me. He explained to me that after the bunker collapsed and evac picked up all of the remaining troops, UGD commenced a planetary bombardment. Most of the covenant were extinguished. I was found by one of the patrols and was in very bad condition. He also told me I was on Lunar (the official name for Earth's moon) and was being treated for my injuries. I asked him why I was on Lunar when I could have been brought to any kind of starship for my injuries. He said that all of these questions would be answered shortly and I needed my rest. Pain was beginning to come back to my whole body so I took his advice and went back to sleep after taking 2 of the pain relievers.

My whole body ached...my head hurt...and damn...it felt like my skin was on fire. I really didn't like this feeling. I got up and took 2 more pain relievers. I got up from my bed and walked to the door in my room. I wend outside to see a long hallway with 24 other rooms in addition to mine. A nurse came down the hallway and yelled at me about being up. I asked her what was I doing here. She said that briefing would be at 0800 hours. I looked at her dumbfounded because I had no sense of time since I had been here. And as if she read my mind, she told me it was 0100 hours. She hurried off after telling me to go back to my room. I disobeyed her suggestion because I wanted to know what was going on now. I walked down the hallway and looked into each of the rooms. And in each one there was a person in it. Which wasn't strange, but the strange part was that they each had an emblem tattooed onto their neck. As I continued to walk down the corridor, I saw a large door, which opened up to a large white room. I assumed that this was the operation room because of all the medical supplies and instruments. I looked one of the metal tables when I noticed something strange. There was something tattooed on my neck too. And it was the same symbol I saw on everyone of the other people in this corridor. As I examined it closer I noticed that it was a barcode. I was really confused and I decided to walk back to my room and sleep until 0800.

The alarm went off and I immediately jumped to my feet expecting covenant rushing at me. But I leaped up only to find the same man in my room that had talked to me. He told me the meeting would start in about 15 minutes and pointed to a black jumpsuit. I put it on and went with him. I saw others leave from their rooms with the same black jumpsuit on. We walked to a large door with some kind of security system I had never seen before. He told me to put my head up to a large curvature, which cradled my head perfectly, and a laser shot out and waved across the barcode across my neck. The doors opened I walked into the large room. The first thing I noticed was that there were about 120 other people in the room with the same kind of jumpsuit. Then noticed that the 1st admiral of the UGD was standing on a podium and he began to speak.

"I know many of you want to know what's going on. Immediately following the fall of Reach, Earth and her sister planets had decided to create another Spartan program. This was code named Project: Jupiter. The top scientists from all planets would come to devise this program, but we weren't sure that we would finish in time. Our confidence returned after John 117 came to earth to report about Halo and the destroyed covenant armada. To put in briefly, all of you here are to be trained to be Spartans. You will be the best of the best, and will be trained under the best of the best."

At that point the champion of Earth stepped forward. The olive green armor amazed us all. We just stared in awe like a child meeting his hero.

"John 117 will be training you all so I suggest that you hurry up and eat. Official training will start in 0900 hours....dismissed."

I was in awe...I was in a state of confusing. Me??? A Spartan??? How...why??? I slowly followed everyone else to the mess hall and had a quick breakfast. I just kept thinking...why me...how...I mean I would enjoy having so much power and such...but...how...why...I finally realized that this is just like the Jupiter confusion that I had when I was a child.

For the next week we trained for specialized Spartan activities such as Reconnaissance, Assassination, Assault, and Defense. We were each put in one of these groups to specialize our skills. I was in assault with was probably 1/3 of all the other Spartans. We were fed muscle, growth, and neurological enhancers (which were used to speed up reaction time and hand-eye coordination). During that week we each grew about 3 feet and gained at least 100 pounds in muscle. I was put into Alpha Lance with 4 other Spartans. James 225, Sam 226, June 227, and Luke 228 were all under my command because I was the most qualified to lead the lance. After finished our week of boot camp Spartan style, we were issued our Spartan weapons. These weapons were specifically designed for Spartans. Three members of my group were issued heavy-duty gauss rifles. June was issued a plasma sniper rifle that fired armor piercing bullets that were encased in plasma. Because of my lack of accuracy even after taking neuron drugs, I was issued a chain gun...which was basically a portable LAAG. We reported to a conference on July 2, 2560. We were told that all Spartans are to be sent immediately to the Tarsonis, the main staging ground for UGD forces in the southeastern quadrant. All of us knew that many would give up our lives in defending Humanity. We plan to face our first battle in 2 days. I hope my father is watching over me.

Halo 2: Jupiter (Chapter 2)

This is Ch. 2 of Halo 2: Jupiter. I thank everyone for helping me out with giving me advice and such. Please continue to help me improve upon my story. SuperChink316@hotmail.com. Please tell me if I should continue this series!!!!!!!!!

July 4, 2560. We have successfully landed on Tarsonis and were all briefed about covenant strongholds and fleet positions. After the briefing we were divided into our separate companies of about 25 men each. And divided further into companies of either 15 or 10 and then into our individual lances. Our lance, alpha cat, was accompanies by beta and gamma cat. Our first assignment was to overtake a large covenant base on Elentra, an E1-class planet, and in other words, a gigantic desert planet. According to UGD intelligence, this base was the primary fuel-mining colony that supplied at least _ of the covenant armada's fuel. We were prepared to depart at 1100 hours.

Each of the lances in the Shawdowcats (our company name) were aboard a separate cruiser, which insured that at least one company lance would make it down. When we arrived 300000 kilometers away from the planet, we discovered that the intelligence was right. There were about 5 covenant ships in orbit refueling. Out cruisers sent out a comm., stating that they were about to engage in the enemy. The three cruisers immediately sent out Guardian fighters, and Longsword bombers. In a matter of 2 minutes the cruisers were engaged with all of the covenant ships. Only 3 ships were powered up because the other 2 were powered down while refueling. Our cruiser immediately fired upon the 2 helpless frigates, while the other 2 attacked the ships in orbit. Our Havoc missiles ripped through one of the frigates causing a gigantic explosion, which destroyed the pipes connecting the surface to the ship. While we targeted the second frigate, a plasma torpedo from one of the covenant cruisers destroyed our missile guidance system. I heard the intercom calling for all Spartans to go aboard the pelican for immediate dispatch. I race down to the docking bays and into the pelican, while watching Guardians and Longswords rearm and refuel. When the rest of my lance arrived we rose from the iron floor of the cruiser and began our journey to the covenant base.

After entering the atmosphere, we saw the massive covenant foundation. The damn thing looked like a city. Longswords were making bombing passes over the institution but didn't do much except take out most of the defenses on the southern side. We met up with the rest of our company and prepared to move out toward the south side.

"This is gonna be some hard shit."
"Yeah...I know...the covenant are going to reinforce that side so we..."
      "Better strike now, I know."
"I'm glad that they brought us the Dune buggies."
"When we finish, evac better be here in a jiff or I'm breaking some legs."

This conversation lasted for about 4 minutes. During that time, we devised a plan to infiltrate and destroy the institution. The best way to do this was to plant Cryphate (a very high explosive materiel) mines next to the main fuel cells. Our secondary mission was to download the covenant military archives for study. We hopped in our dune buggies, which were large, agile warthogs. There were two high caliber gauss rifle on the back that were used by 2 Spartans while 3 others rode in the front. We made it to the checkpoint in about 3 minutes. All of the snipers from the company scanned other the southern side. A gigantic hole was made by a bomb from one of the Longswords. The only defense there was a poorly made bunker our of sandbags with 5 grunts armed with plasma rifles (since the last war, covenant has beefed up on arming their soldiers) and one with a fuel rod gun...which may pose a problem. We decided that one dune buggy was to drive and distract all the grunts while the snipers took out as many as they could. I volunteered...well...demanded that I be the driver while Sam and a Spartan from beta took the guns. I put my cybernetic boot on the gas and we rushed toward the gapping hole. We got to the entrance and my gunners started to fire. The grunts were all sleeping so the rifles sliced through three of them while the snipers took out the remaining two. Then, apparently, all this commotion caught the attention of several elites on the top of a balcony and we were immediately under fire. Plasma bolts rained down at us, most of them landing harmlessly into the sand turning it into glass. One did manage to hit me on the neck and even though my shields held I could fell my skin start to get hot. I raised my head up to get a glimpse of who had hit me but there was nothing there but a black crater. I turned around to see a Spartan waving at me.

The company all came to the gaping hole in the side of the structure. My lance proceeded into the complex, which appeared to be the vehicle hanger. There were rows and rows of ghosts, banshees, and the newest addition to the covenant force, silences. The silence was floating assault vehicle, which I had only seen once besides this time, and seated four men. 1 was a pilot, the person beside him was a passenger and there were two gunner positions in the back to fire plasma turrets. We thought that this might come in handy so we hijacked four of the silences and put them next to the dune buggies. We equipped our weapons and headed inside.

My lance was to proceed and place the explosives. Beta was to download the military archives and Gamma was to severe communications so the base couldn't make a distress call. The company decided that we were to rendezvous in 15 minutes at the same blown up spot. As beta and gamma went their separate ways, my lance moved towards a computer port to find out where the fuel cells were. While hacking into the battlenet, a group of jackals saw us and began to fire. I told June to kept working while the rest of us gave her cover fire. My lance fired their rifles but the bullet bounced off their shields. Sam managed to get in a lucky shot and tore one of the limbs off a jackal. I whipped out my mini gun and started to fire. I wasted about 300 rounds in 2 seconds but I managed to take out all of the covenant. June finished hacking and found the location of the fuel cells. We hurried out of the corridor leaving the jackals in a bloody mess.

Our noisy encounter didn't go unnoticed. As we ran toward the fueling room, we heard an elite call out through then intercom that there were Spartans in the building. All of us muttered curses under our breaths and kept running. Once we arrived we chucked some high impact (in other words bouncy with big explosion) frags in the room in case of any defenders. Strangely there were no defensive units. We carefully placed Cryphate mines next each of the fuel cells and left the room. All of the sudden, alarms went off everywhere. Elites stormed in from a northeastern door. We instinctively started to fire as we made our exit. We managed to bring down 5 elites but 10 more shot at us. Grenades were launched both ways. Explosions echoed through my ears. Luke fell to the floor with a remains of a bolt in his legs. I boosted his up while firing with my rifle. He took my mini gun and fired, taking down another four elites. At that point the remaining two covenant decided it was better to run and sprinted out where the came. We left the room leaving bullet-rittled carcasses of covenant behind us. We reached the rendezvous without much trouble except for a lone elite or jackal that we easily dispatched of. Once we met up with the rest of the company, we radioed in for evac. The only problem is...there was a hoard of covenant between the outside and us. The mass of covenant was made up of at least 35 grunts, 25 jackals, 35 elites, and 5 hunters. And it was just 15 Spartans to fight them. My lance would go in and fire upon the elites, jackals and grunts. Beta was to direct most of their fire on the hunters. Gamma would provide cover fire to get us into position. I went first followed my Luke, James, and Sam. June stayed back to snipe whatever she could. Gamma was already firing so we dashed to the right behind a mortar tank. Beta was already in position so I gave the ok to fire. Muzzle blasts and plasma pulses could be heard everywhere. Screams echoed through out the hanger. I saw a grunt get decapitated by a gauss round while a sniper bullet when straight through a jackal's shield and into the soft body. The elites were smart and hid behind the others and fired every so often. I saw one Spartan get hit in the chest with a fuel rocket. He was lifted off the ground and slammed into the wall. Someone yelled out FRAG OUT so all of us chucked a couple grenades out. The explosion was tremendous. Not only did we eliminate about _ of the entire covenant forces, we destroyed about half of the vehicles in the hanger. The remaining covenant attackers gave up and put down their weapons. By that time the pelicans arrived and we picked up the wounded, secured the prisoners, and picked up all of the vehicles we could and departed from the planet.

While on the way up to our cruiser, a bright light flashed from the planet and all that was left of the fuel station was a gigantic black crater.

Halo 2: Jupiter (Chapter 3)

This is Ch. 3 of Halo 2: Jupiter. I thank everyone for helping me out with giving me advice and such. Please continue to help me improve upon my story. SuperChink316@hotmail.com œ email address.

As I stared into that black crater, I couldn't help but think of all the people that will have to die in this word. I cursed the covenant for dragging all these innocent people into such a conflict. Didn't they know that these marines had families??? Then I cursed my stupidity. Of course they knew...even though the covenant were the lowest scum in this galaxy...they still had families. I just didn't understand why they hated humanity so much. It was times like these I missed my father because just looking at him would give me strength.

Our pelican docked into the hanger of our cruiser. Luke was sent to the infirmary for 1st degree burns and Sam went because her faceplate was cracked after a hand-to-hand match with an elite. All of the stolen vehicles were also docked into the hanger and were being studied by the scientist. I was told to report to the captain's quarters. When I got there I found him sitting in a chair reading an official UGD memo.

      "Sit down Steve"
"No thank you sir....You wanted to see me about something?"
"Yes...the news of your performance has reached UGD command. And they are impressed by your leadership capabilities. They are also impressed with your company's performance destroying the fuel station and collecting the data. Admiral Dirmingale wants to put you in command of the company. Of course you will still lead the Alpha Cats, but you will also command the company. Do you wish to lead this group?"
"Yes sir I would like to. Thank you sir."
"Oh...before I forget...go down to the Spartan labs...they have something for you."

I saluted him and walked out the door. I kept thinking about me being the commander of the entire company. Am I up to the challenge? What if I screw up? What perks do I get? The questions kept coming until I faced the Spartan lab. I walked in and headed to the top scientist.

"The captain told me to report here for something"
"Ah yes...look what the UGD has sent you"

He pointed to 5 MJOLNIR battle suits but they were all black. He told me that his is a Mach 6 suit. All things were improved. The suit's shields and armor was stronger. It also had a build in zoom scope. The suit also injects neural and muscle enhancing drugs when the adrenaline level reaches a certain point. I was told to distribute all of these new suits to my teammates. When they saw the new armor, they were in awe. It was as if they were 6 year olds in a candy store. We each changed into the new armor and began to examine ourselves in the mirror.

At 0600 hours the next day, all Spartans were to report to the briefing room. Commanding admiral Relcov had news for our lance. He reported that the UGD had obtained the tactical coordinates of the primary staging ground for all covenant activities in this quadrant. Their primary base was on an A-3 class planet. This planet was mainly swamp with a large lakes dotted across the whole planet. The crucial difference was that this planet's gravity was three times earth's gravity. We were told that training would commence for this mission in one hour. Our lance met up with beta and gamma at a Jade, a similar class planet. We did 3 days of parading for swamps and gravity training to get used to the gravity. We couldn't use or gravity generators because the covenant would be able to detect the excess energy use. The last day was to memorize every step of the plan and what to do if something got screwed up. My lances primary goal was to download crucial information about world inside covenant space. Beta was to destroy all barracks, vehicle, and ship hangers. Gamma would join with the marines directly assaulting the main covenant complex, which would hopefully direct attention away from us. After the training, each of the lances returned to their flagships. Our three ships slip jumped simultaneously toward the red juncture point. When we arrived we saw a UGD armada. The bridge's tactical display showed 130 battleships, cruisers, carriers, and frigates. On the long-range scan, there were five large blue masses. This was the half of the UGD's space armada....a total of 650 ships. This was truly a major operation. All of the covenant strongholds would be under direct assault by ships, marines, and Spartans. The blue dots on the map started to move and I realized that the assault force was moving into position. The collective armada that we were in held position _ a light year away from Alexandria, the planet we were to infiltrate. Long-range sensors detected a covenant fleet surrounding Alexandria, no doubt to guard if from attackers like us. At 1400 hour, our fleet would slip jump to the northwester hemisphere of the planet because it had the lowest number of patrols and defensive orbital stations. Of course our jump would be detected so the whole armada heated up the Streaker Mac Cannons, armed the Havoc missile pods, and powered up the shields.

We slipped jumped and were instantly taking and returning fire. There were 25 covenant ships in patrol in that area. Our armada caught them by surprise and we rained down fire on them. Six ships were obliterated in our fist volley. I saw the Streaker Guns from our ship tear through the hull of a covenant cruiser. Our havoc missiles tore through on of the torpedo pods, which apparently detonated the dormant plasma torpedoes. The explosion created a shockwave, which knocked some of the other covvie ships out of orientation. Cheers could be heard throughout the corridors of the ship. The covenant retaliated swiftly by sending a volley of plasma charges and torpedoes in full spread. Our ship was hit by sever bolts and one torpedo, which was enough to damage our Streaker Cannons. I looked outside again to see many ships taking fire and returning fire with a vengeance. One of our frigates was spinning out of control and slammed into a cruiser. There was an insinuating explosion and there were only bits and pieces of the frigates while the cruiser had suffered a giant hole in its side. The armada eliminated the remaining covenant forces without sustaining much more damage. Sirens wailed from the walkways and I knew I was being summoned. Covenant forces were already closing on the armada's position. I met up with the rest of my lance at the Ironfist (which was a longsword designed to accommodate the things we needed for this mission). Although the Ironfist could defend itself easily, with its mini Mac guns and Havoc missiles, three pairs of Guardian fighters escorted it to the rendezvous. From the ship I saw 2 more Ironfists descended from two other battleships. Our small little fleet entered the atmosphere and prepared to hover over a lake for deployment. A group of banshees and silences came out to meet us at 12 kilometers in the air. The Guardians immediately recognized the enemy and began to pump out Streaker rounds. This brought down 1 silence and 2 banshees. The remaining forces (which consisted of 4 silence and 8 banshees) struck back with plasma rounds. One of the silences turned around toward the covenant base. We didn't want any more reinforcements so we chased after it at full impulse. Three Havocs were launched to insure immediate destruction. One missed the target but the other two struck the base of the vehicle, which cause an instantaneous explosion, engulfing the entire vehicle. As we turned around to help our companions, we noticed that all of the enemy aircraft had destroyed. Many of the guardians had been damaged, one had an engine blown out and was leaking coolant, so they return to the ships. Gamma's Ironfist was slightly singed on a wing but it could still fly.

We descended over the lake and unloaded the Aquaticas, a marine hovercraft vehicle used for aquatic assaults. It offensive weapons contained STS and STA havoc missiles, and a full series of gauss chain guns. There were four aquatics brought down, and each could fit two Spartans. I choose to operate an Aquatica with Sam as my gunner. The remaining Spartans would provide cover fire from the Ironfists and destroy any enemies that got in the way. I could feel neuron and stimulant drugs begin to pump through my body. If everything goes according to plan, we could have all the information we need to bring the covenant to their knees....well...the ones that had knees anyways.
