PAX East, through the eyes of CL
CruelLEGACEY has been doing a bang-up job of covering the Halo-related material that could be found at PAX East this year - He's got summaries of Day One and Day Two (his Day Three summary should be up today), as well as the latest Waypoint Community Modcast (recorded at the show, and featuring an amazing collection of guest hosts). You absolutely shouldn't miss the Waypoint Dance Mob (it's not all Waypoint; our own GrimBrothers One and Four, along with Hitmonchan, are featured), and for extra spice, there's a version filmed by HBO's own Miguel Chavez. GAFfable Grab Bag
The fine forum folk over at NeoGAF have been a buzzing a bit with some neat tidbits from around the web. Here is a selection of their sleuthing...
- Hitmonchan107 found an interesting article from VG24/7 with a few comments from former Bungie founder Alex Seropian (in the news a fair bit lately, 'eh?) talking about his high hopes for Halo's future with 343 Industries.
- Homeboyd noticed what looks to be a preview for a special OXM UK publication titled "Halo: The Game that Changed the World."
- Meanwhile VivaciousJazzy wanted to make everyone aware of... well, of this. Don't feel awkward, I couldn't stop watching either.

The Last Sleeper - with ties to Halo and Bungie
So yesterday, GrimBrother One stopped in with a Kotaku link about Kendall Davis, who was working on Halo 4 until he quit to create a comic game. What started as a story with only passing relevance to HBO became more interesting when Hitmonchan did a little digging and learned that the game has ties to Bungie's Aerospace. MSNBC examines coming Halo titles

A healthy obsession
Hitmonchan needs to take a break from newsposting for a bit - but he couldn't resist sending along a huge batch of farewell links. Check out these videos!
- Straight Outta Bloodgulch is a music parody from JT Machinima - language is not safe for work, but this is pretty funny!
- IGN's Top Ten Reach Kills for July 13 has some silly stuff - but a few are great. (I liked the fusion-barrel-wipes-out-AL clip... and the #1 clip ROCKS.)
- The Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption mod Sci-Fi at War has added some new Halo units - take a look!
- Schwang and Sizzle put together The Dual, a Halo PC dualtage. Fair warning - mute your audio.
- And the best of the bunch (according to both Hitmonchan and me) - Mega Bloks has kicked off their Toymation Contest, and the promo video is simply spectacular. Go watch - and then join in the fun!

SHC's June Montage
Hitmonchan also pointed out SHC, a Halo 3/Reach montage containing footage from the SingleHaloClips community collected during the month of June. Some great plays, nice mix of games. Hitmonchan107 brought word via Tunavi from NeoGAF that the Reach June Playlist is now live. Our own Fyrefulff also weighed in with changes that he's noticed himself. Though there isn't an official changelog from Bungie just yet, details of what were planned for the full update can be found in their most recent Weekly Update. Get in there and swat some heads! Halo Community Tournament
Calling all Halo fan sites: On May 28, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST, you're invited to a night of fighting, fun and free swag. Put your community's pride on the line in a 6v6 tournament! Play custom games with 343 Industries! Each community should designate a community leader, who will organize the site's members. Can a chainsaw cut through Spartan armor?
Hitmonchan, just before heading out for a weekend of debauchery and pantsless reveling, stopped into our forum with word of an interesting aside in an interview with Epic's Cliffy B. Apparently, the Master Chief COULD have been in Gears 3, but the idea was nixed by Microsoft because Gears is a bit too... bloody. Go read Cliffy's description of what might have been! The Gift that Keeps on Giving
Last week, I held a contest on my Twitter account (shameless plug) for a Mark V Spartan helmet (It's actually a Mark VI, but who's counting? ;-) -Grim), and Hyokin was the lucky winner. Instead of keeping it for himself, he decided to be charitable and hold a contest for it. All you need to do is draw, take a screenshot or Photoshop a picture of a purple Spartan rocking the EVA helmet. Also, I completely misinformed him about the helmet. It's for both male and female avatars. For some reason I thought he was talking about the Spartan armor. Sorry about that, mate! (Hitmonchan 20:04:32 UTC)

Over at Halo Waypoint, bs angel pointed out a new montage from Sandman (with editing by SillyGoose) - it jumps back and forth between Halo 3 and Reach, and makes me want to go play both. Reach brings home a Pulcinella
Hitmonchan found this a few days ago - but the site was a bit messed up, and it was hard to tell. Looks like Halo: Reach won the Interactive Animation Award at the 2011 Pulcinellas, an award ceremony for "International Television and Cross-Media Animation" in Italy. Congrats, guys! News from Elsewhere Sunday (Part 3)
Hitmonchan, after promising he was done for a while, came back this afternoon for ANOTHER round of Halo links. While I was out enjoying myself in Community BTB, he was sweating away in a room full of small children - wait, that's not right. Anyway, check out his finds.
- Slashprofilms tried to create a Jaws parody in the Reach engine. They ran into some problems.
- A gamesite editor is giving away a copy of Dr. Halsey's journal on Twitter - swing by if you'd like to get in on this.
- An article that seems to have been written several months ago showed up on X360 Magazine's website - they've come up with alternative punishments for Reach cheaters.
- He found a couple of nice montages - Arkanum and Thrust's Snipetality-edited trailer, and Just Mad's "I'm Still Just Mad 2" (it's old, but we've never mentioned it). Update: Oops, that was I'm Still Just Mad (the first one). The second one is here. Thanks, HMC.
