New 343i Podcast with Greg Bear

Reach Radio Dialogue

What's Coming This Week
The Great Britain version of Xbox.com has posted a calendar for the coming week's launch festivities - Go read it for stuff to look forward to. Hidden Fan Goodness
GrimBrother One sent along a summary of the posts from our forum that had been overlooked by front-page posters (well, by CYBR and I) in the last week or so - sort of a mini-solution-by-crowdsourcing! Thanks, Grim. I left a couple of things out for various reasons - but here are the rest (these are all before Sunday).
- Xbox360Achievements.org got a chance to play Tip of the Spear at Gamescom - they wrote up their impressions last week. (Do we have to tell you that you can't describe a campaign mission without SOME spoilers?) Grim noticed.
- SPU7N1K is looking to win a contest in Singapore and meet some Bungie employees - his entry (showing off his Halo collection) is pretty fun!
- Grim asked the Waypoint guys a while back if they had any large (printable) versions of the image they used for a "box art" shot of the service. (No, Waypoint doesn't come in a box.) GLYPH looked around - but was unable to provide one. However, when he learned of the need, newguy2445 stepped up and created a pair of images - you can pick the one you like the best. Fantastic!

Deliver Hope
Halo: Reach - Deliver Hope, the latest live-action trailer (following up 'Birth of a Spartan') is now live on both Halo Waypoint's website and YouTube (thanks, GrimBrother One). Reception on our forum seems to be mixed - but I have to say, I liked it, quite a lot. We don't know a lot about the timeframe of this piece - but I'd guess it's just a tiny bit before the game starts. Go make up your own mind! 3D Reach?
Odd. GrimBrother One pointed out a tiny piece at vg247 - apparently, Reach was available in stereoscopic 3D at Gamescom. (This is the first we're hearing about it, so it's unlikely this is anything more than a tech demo... but it's interesting.) Update: false alarm. It's a Toshiba TV demo. Waypoint Tweets Up a Storm
Waypoint's getting busy on Twitter - there are a couple of recent tweets that might be of interest to you. They're bringing something new to San Diego this week (thanks, GrimBrother One), and will show it off soon; GLYPH added some details on timing (keep an eye out for 'Preview Night' tonight on Waypoint). Also, they're asking for questions about the Halo fiction (thanks, Hedgemony) - the ones they pick will be answered at the Halo Universe Panel on Sunday. (They've already chosen one from yesterday, but keep an eye on the feed; they'll solicit new questions again later today.) Finally, they announced that Karen Traviss will be writing a new series of Halo novels, starting with the sequel to Ghosts of Onyx. (Read the press release for full details.) Thanks to Urban Reflex for that last. Whew! Update: Traviss clarifies on her blog that the upcoming book is not exactly a sequel:
It isn't a sequel to Ghosts of Onyx in the sense that you mean a sequel, i.e. a continuation of the same story with the same cast- these novels are just set after it and follow the events of Halo 3. There'll be new characters and new storylines.

Whipping Halo into Shape
