The subject matter isn't very new - a small band of survivors, attempting to stave off destruction by the legions of Hell - but the cinematics are quite good; this one looks to be worth waiting for! The trailer is 2:20 long, and is available in either WMP9 format (24.4 mb) or QuickTime format (26.7 mb). Go watch! (Louis Wu 22:32:48 UTC)
August 11, 2006 Link to this post The Haxor That Loved Me Obienator submitted a trailer for "The Haxor That Loved Me", a sequel to "Gameplay May change During Online Play", to the MPRRS; great cinematics, a well-thought-out storyline and over-the-top histrionics combine to bring you a pretty funny video. I'm looking forward to the full film! It won't be out for a few months - so in the meantime, watch the trailer: 47.9 mb in either WMP9 or QuickTime formats. (This film made the MPRRS Top 20, for now.) (Louis Wu 08:44:45 UTC)
August 11, 2006 Link to this post ArKiVe M4 Trailer Over at Halo3Forum.com, you can find a trailer for a new montage vid from ArKiVe and Titan - pretty nice work! Thanks, Z. (Louis Wu 01:52:17 UTC)
August 8, 2006 Link to this post The Real Halo 3 Trailer - now downloadable You may or may not remember a video we mentioned at YouTube, about a month ago - it was a live-action version of the Halo 3 trailer, with the Best Cortana Evar. (No offense to Jen, of course.) It took a little while, but we finally got hold of the original video from its creator, Slosha - you can now download a full-sized version from us (720x480, 34.2 mb in WMP9 format, 31.1 mb in QuickTime format) - enjoy! (Louis Wu 12:46:29 UTC)
August 5, 2006 Link to this post Halo:Unyielding Teaser Trailer Laird let us know that he's posted a mini teaser trailer for his upcoming 'Halo: Unyielding' project - pretty impressive! Go grab a copy. (Louis Wu 12:08:07 UTC)
August 3, 2006 Link to this post Prophecy Ep 1: The Threshold of War Lordstemplar1 submitted Prophecy Episode 1 - 'The Threshold of War' to the MPRRS recently, and they gave it a thumbs-up. (You might remember the trailer, which came through a couple of weeks ago.) This one sets up the story - action's a bit light, but tension is building. It was originally submitted encoded with the H.264 codec - this causes too many of our viewers problems, so I've reencoded it with standard QuickTime and WMP9 codecs. Grab it in WMP9 format (53.2 mb) or QuickTime format (54.6 mb) - and get ramped up for the next episode! (Louis Wu 21:11:01 UTC)
August 2, 2006 Link to this post Project Crimson Official Trailer Back in early July, Metroid05, of the Atomik Films crew, submitted a trailer for Project Crimson, a machinima series they're in the process of making. The MPRRS reviewers liked it, but the instructions we got about hosting were unclear - and Metroid05's email wasn't working. Today, the hosting questions were answered, so we're making the trailer available - both in WMP9 format (43.3 mb) and QuickTime format (43.6 mb). Project Crimson tells the story of genetic experimentation gone bad, and is heavy on the visual effects. The full machinima is due this coming winter. Take a look! (Louis Wu 18:27:32 UTC)
August 2, 2006 Link to this post Talent's Final Montage Trailer - now in QT On Monday, we posted a link for Talent's Final Montage trailer, being hosted at Halo3Forum.com. Although there's plenty of bandwidth for it there, Halzred submitted it to the MPRRS for feedback anyway - and they liked it, quite a lot. if you want the WMP9 version, you're still welcome to grab it from H3F - but because it passed here, we're offering a QuickTime version, for those who'd rather watch that. Weighs in at 23.5 mb, and is nice and short (just about a minute and a half) - give it a go! (Louis Wu 05:15:47 UTC)
August 2, 2006 Link to this post Administrivia - lost moviemakers Lot of movie stuff today; I went through the MPRRS database, looking for strays. I found a few, too. Most are either taken care of or in the PROCESS of being taken care of - but two are in limbo; I've sent the creators multiple emails each, with no response. All I can think of is that the messages are being routed to their spam folders - so while I hate to do this, I don't see any other way to reach them. If you ARE these people, or you KNOW them, please get in contact (or have them get in contact) with us. (And check the junk folder!) The first is Metroid05, whose 'Project Crimson Trailer' passed a month ago... and the second is xbryboyremix, whose 'Corrupt' passed last week. I needed clarification about hosting and/or higher-res versions from both individuals, but never got a response. Please - if you're out there, find me! And with that, the next news posts will be about movies we actually have for downloading. (Louis Wu 05:09:07 UTC)
July 31, 2006 Link to this post Don Miguel and Talent at H3F Couple of nice montages over at halo3forum.com - Don Miguel's The Real has some great multikills (though I could have done without the acid-trip effects in the middle), and Halzred's editing a new trailer for Talent (apparently his last) - full montage is due out in the fall. Go watch! Thanks, Z. (Louis Wu 22:48:31 UTC)
July 24, 2006 Link to this post Blind Men and Elephants Narcogen has taken the latest Halo Story Page update as a jumping-off place for speculation - some good thoughts about the Halo 3 trailer in there! Give it a read. (Louis Wu 11:18:23 UTC)

July 17, 2006 Link to this post Sin City Halo - Redux Northeast noticed a vid on YouTube that reproduces the Sin City trailer in the Halo engine. (It's different from the one we hosted here.) Go watch - pretty good work! (Louis Wu 11:19:09 UTC)
July 14, 2006 Link to this post Montages Up Couple of new films to watch over at Halo3Forum.com - thanks, Z. There's DaY & EXP10S1ON's DualTage - a mix of two players, a mix of Halo and Halo 2. And there's a trailer for HANXU's upcoming montage - some really long-range sticks. WMP9 format for both (135 and 17 mb, respectively). Go watch. (Louis Wu 19:58:33 UTC)
July 14, 2006 Link to this post Prophecy - the official trailer We usually put up just a couple of copies of movies that pass the MPRRS (a QuickTime version that's generally compatible with versions 5 and up, and a WMP9 version) - but yesterday, a vid passed that simply didn't want to re-encode. Lordstemplar1 submitted a trailer for Prophecy, an upcoming machinima project, in H.264-encoded QuickTime - but attempts to convert it were unsuccessful. I did, eventually, get it into our standard formats - but because I had so much trouble with it, I'm making the original available as well. You can read more about Prophecy on their official website - and you can grab the trailer from us in QuickTime 7 format (26.2 mb), QuickTime 5+ format (25.4 mb), or WMP9 format (19.8 mb). (Louis Wu 12:24:53 UTC)
July 13, 2006 Link to this post Xbox Live Summary, Halo-style Only peripherally Halo-related... but interesting nonetheless; Gamasutra has an artcle discussing Xbox Live - and a pretty amazing 60% attach rate for Xbox 360 owners. (That means 60% of all 360s are linked to an Xbox Live account - compare this to the Xbox attach rate of only 10%.) Halo plays a large role in what XBL offers; Halo 2 continues to be the most-played game on Live, Halo trailers account for absurd numbers of download bytes (speaking of which, the Halo 3: Behind the Scenes documentary is now available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace - 400 mb worth of 720p, Dolby 5.1-soaked goodness; go see it as it was meant to be seen), and Halo 2 Vista will be one of the first games (along with Shadowrun) to take advantage of Live Anywhere, a feature that let's you access Live features simultaneously from your Xbox or your PC. (Again, just so we don't start any rumors: Halo 2 Vista will NOT be able to interact directly with Halo 2 Xbox; the Live Anywhere functionality will involve your Friends List in this case.) (Louis Wu 11:56:40 UTC)
July 11, 2006 Link to this post Conquest, Part 2 - Trailer now available AnubisUK stopped by our forum to point out that the trailer for Broken Console's Conquest Part 2 is now available - swing by their website to grab a copy (10 or 15 mb, depending on size, in both WMP9 and QT). Part 1 was a pretty impressive piece of work, and the trailer for Part 2 is nicely done; check it out, and get ready for the real deal! (Louis Wu 18:21:29 UTC)
July 6, 2006 Link to this post I am your shield - I am your sword. I'm not thrilled with YouTube - but this one's pretty darned funny. Swing by to see the original Halo 3 trailer... the special effects on Cortana must be seen to be believed. Thanks to Konrad, via IRC, for this one. (Louis Wu 02:31:35 UTC)
July 2, 2006 Link to this post Oppression Trailer A few days ago, a trailer for an upcoming machinima called 'Oppression' passed through the MPRRS; it came really, really close to passing. There was a single typo in some of the text, and this typo was mentioned by a large number of reviewers - we got uppity squirrel, the creator, to fix that typo, and we're hosting the vid after all. Looks to be a dramatic film! The trailer is 14.6 mb in WMP9 format, or 14.1 mb in QuickTime format (it's only 2 minutes long). Check it out! (Louis Wu 16:00:34 UTC)
July 2, 2006 Link to this post sHyRe's Montage Trailer Over at Halo2Forum.com, Z points out sHyRe's Montage Trailer for download - 41.6 mb, WMP9 format. It's short... but it looks pretty good! Full montage vid coming later this summer. Go download. (No more registration needs to download from H2F.) (Louis Wu 14:42:06 UTC)

June 20, 2006 Link to this post Turtle Mann's Fourth Montage Trailer Turtle Mann submitted the trailer for his fourth Montage to the MPRRS - and their biggest complaint was that it was too short. Go watch - WMP9 format is 23.4 mb, QuickTime format is 25 mb. Nice synchronization! (Louis Wu 19:33:10 UTC)
June 16, 2006 Link to this post Trailer Trash. I'd find today's One One Se7en much funnier, if my inbox wasn't already chock-full of all of those comments. Sometimes you have to laugh, or you'll cry. (Louis Wu 15:13:44 UTC)
