Will Anniversary kick off a remake trend?

What do Queen and Halo have in common?
FoxmanFX noticed a new video from William Shatner, who released a 'Spoken Word' album of classic rock music. His treatment of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody has at least one, and maybe two Halo nods - the video starts with a piece that tips its hat to the Halo 3 Announce Trailer... and ends with one that could be considered an homage to the opening of Halo 3. Is Shatner a Halo 3 fan? It would appear so! (Side note: this is one of the oddest things I've seen this week.) Update: Got a photo taken at the G-Phoria Awards in 2005 that might suggest where that connection might have come from... (Louis Wu 21:03:17 UTC)

An embarrassment of riches
Whoa. Not only has the Halo: The Fallen VFX teaser trailer (live-action) been released (thanks, Someone) - but so has a trailer for ANOTHER live-action project I've never heard of; mr.sci-fi pointed out a teaser for Halo: Helljumper, which ALSO hit the net yesterday. Websites for both projects can be found on Facebook (The Fallen | Helljumpers) - so check 'em out!

If you get the chance, don't miss our beloved Frank O'Connor as he takes you through a closed-door walkthrough of part of the Pillar of Autumn level in the upcoming Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary. GameTrailers GC and TGS vids
ZZoMBiE13 pointed out a few vids at GameTrailers, courtesy of Gamescom and the Tokyo Game Show - there's an interview with Dan Ayoub, recorded at Gamescom (we MIGHT have covered this already; I'm not willing to watch through the half-dozen interviews Dan gave to OTHER news outlets to figure out if this is original or not), there's a copy of the Headlong video we mentioned yesterday (in case you aren't happy with IGN's player), and there's some off-screen footage of gameplay on Installation 04, the new Firefight map. Halo Faith Dates
France's Halo Destiny has a short bit with some dates for the fan film Halo Faith - the trailer will be out on September 2 (that's Friday), while the full film will be available just after the release of Halo Anniversary. Halo Fest Friday Roundup
I am really, really appreciative of our forumgoers today - I went through and found that enormous swaths of the new content released yesterday has been chronicled there. Let's see if I can summarize what's out there:
- Major Nelson summarized the first day's activities in this post (thanks, Beckx).
- Gametrailers has posted a 343 Guilty Spark walkthrough narrated by 343 Producer Dan Ayoub (thanks, Beckx).
- Kotaku thinks there are secrets visible in plain sight in the Halo 4 informational wall at Halo Fest - thanks, Sqorck.
- IGN has a Halo 4 info summary with discussion from 343 employees - thanks, Sqorck.
- IGN's Halo Fest Hub has flythroughs of three of the new maps in Halo: Anniversary - thanks, nillapuddin.
- The Behind The Scenes video shown at Halo Fest is up on YouTube - thanks, ElzarTheBam.
- IGN posted a "Why you should care about Reach's TItle Update" article - thanks, daveMD.
- Halo Waypoint put up a video showing off a SECOND terminal - thanks, Dubbl3.utoo.
- The final map in the Halo: Anniversary lineup was leaked - the article is down, but there's no reason not to tell you that the map itself is Headlong. Thanks, The Mean.
- The Halo Fest panels that took place yesterday were filmed, streamed, and are now archived on IGN's Halo Fest Hub - this will be true again today. If you want to see them in real time, watch the stream, but if you have trouble with that, IGN's doing a great job of getting them online for archived watching quite quickly. Thanks, PsychoRaven.

Halo 4: Awakening - Director's Cut
NeoGAF's wwm0nkey found a 'Director's Cut' of the Halo 4 Announce trailer - it's very similar to what was released, except for two things: the music, and the last couple of seconds. Interesting! (He's also uploaded it to YouTube if you don't want to watch the original QuickTime.)
