Pinkuh's on a roll.
Never say Pinkuh doesn't respond to her fans. Her last image, showing the Master Chief without a helmet, spawned a surprisingly long forum thread, many people loving her interpretation, but others feeling that the Chief should never look this happy. (What a depressing view!) For the latter crowd, Pinkuh sketched a revised Chief - this guy is DEFINITELY not happy. If you find that to be a downer, though, swing by THIS forum post - and turn that frown upside down! Both images have been added to her gallery here (revised chief | disco halo). Zombies Ate the Master Chief.
Over at the Escapist, there's a great article about honor-system-based Halo 2 gametypes (with Zombies being the primary example); these will never show up in Matchmaking lists (because they require that everyone play by non-enforceable rules), but they're loads of fun. Colors of the Universe
DMDyet discusses some interesting patterns you may or may not have noticed in the coloring scheme of Halo - in this post, there's even a visual chart. Does this mean the Prophets are somehow separate from the rest of the Covenant? (If you aren't a frequent reader of our forum, you might have missed his last project - a 'vectorization' of the Master Chief (finished here, with a short Q&A here) - it's in the Misc Art queue, but it's definitely worth a separate shout-out.) More Hi-res Halo 3 Goodness
Home. Exhausted. Crashing. Before I go, though: if you go back and grab the Halo 3 Press Kit from Xbox.com, you'll find that it's grown in size from 70 mb to just over 100 - the added space is filled with Master Chief cutouts (the MC with no background image), Halo 3 and Bungie logos, and high-res versions of the storyboards up at Bungie.net. New work from an old friend
Interesting. An artist known as GT Gundam over at DeviantART has been turning out great Halo artwork for years - we recently added a bunch of missing images to our Miscellaneous Art section, with his permission. Today, Juan Anselm points out that he's gone and created a new DA account, and has begun to populate it with new art - visit Marathon GTi for the first of these new pieces, 'Save the MD, revised' (Master Chief laying down supressing fire for a can of Mountain Dew - the original is here). Script writer needed for live action short
We missed this, but back in December, corpseguy posted a note on the HaloPlanet forums about a full Master Chief suit he's building (we've got a record of the helmets he's been working on, but we missed the suit post). He came back yesterday, because he's interested in using the suit in a live action comedy short - except that he doesn't have a script. If you're interested in helping out... let him know! eBay Halo Stuff
X1Zero found a few eBay auctions - there are a couple of the small Muckle Master Chief statues (here and here, same seller - Buy It Now prices are really high; remember that the last dozen or so of these to pass through eBay have sold for less than $200), and a new magnum. This is listed as the M6C, not the M6D, and is NOT the same as the pistols we've mentioned a bit in the past few months (the most recent one of those can be seen here, for comparison). Custom MC

Piranhas vs Master Chief
Phil Rock has been putting together some animated GIFs of the Master Chief and his adventures with piranhas. (Killer piranhas. Piranhas big enough to EAT him.) The GIF animation was cool, but pretty wasteful, bandwidth-wise (and Phil wants to host these himself), so we helped out with QuickTime and WMP9 conversions. The first three episodes are up now, along with Episode 4 in GIF format (but I've already sent him the converted versions, so if you want to save him some bandwidth, hold off a bit on that one until he's got the movie versions up). I'm starting to think of the MC as a little like Mr. Bill now... Update: Ep 4 is available in QT and WMP9 now. (Louis Wu 14:29:11 UTC)
