Waypoint - it's what's for dinner
So I don't know how many of you have Halo Waypoint's website on your regular visit list... but if you're a Halo fan, you really should. As usual, there's a Weekly Wrap-Up post that lists all the goodies they've posted this week (highlights from there, for me, included the Cryptum Glossary Update (really useful for this content-rich novel), the Master Chief Pyrography (Kassie's got way more skillz than me!), and the MC Sneakers (gawjuss). There's plenty of other stuff there, though, that doesn't make the roundups - Chris Burke covered the World Cyber Games Holiday Heroes tournament, and (as This Spartan Life's Damian Lacedamian) interviewed Frank O'Connor and bs angel. Mr. Vociferous returned to his Vintage Fisticuffs series, with a piece called Grand Canyon, looking back at Halo's Two Betrayals level and a critical battle therein. (Glorious.) And Chairleg Productions (search our news for some of their past work) focused on the question "Should Games be Considered Art?" - the resulting video is a really fun 8 minutes. Waypoint New Years Day Roundup

Halo 2 Statue for sale
Joshua Allen stopped in with a link to a VERY expensive statue from Toys on Fire - a half-height Halo 2 Master Chief statue, for $1,200 (canadian). These have gone for $300-600 on eBay in the last couple of years, so unless you need noe RIGHT NOW, this might be a bit overpriced. (Louis Wu 21:32:36 UTC)

Gourde Poster Series gets new press
JDQuackers pointed out a piece created by Matthew Davis a couple of years ago (it was just highlighted by Kotaku today, but hit the web in 2008) - it uses the Master Chief as a (literal) poster boy for desensitization. Waypoint - Chock-full of Halo Goodness
Totally spaced on the Weekly Wrap-up at Halo Waypoint - there are a few things you may not have seen:
- The Weekend Webcomic is a new episode of Master Chief's Pets, a series started last year by warrioronlydude.
- There's a new episode of Halo Reach: Headshot, covering Breakpoint.
- Death McGunz took Jonathan Coulton's "Re: Your Brains" and added Halo footage to it. (Plus a bit more.)
- Sometimes, crates are evil.
- 8-Bit Brigade hosted a holiday fundraiser for Child's Play, and there was plenty of Halo schwag for the taking. (This ended yesterday, unfortunately. Sorry.)
There are also plenty of screenshots worth seeing. And there are some exclusive bits you might have missed:
- MEGA Bloks' Assault on Squad 45 is now up - both Part 1 (which we mentioned last week) and Part 2 (which is exclusive to Waypoint) - amazing stop-motion stuff!
- The Return, a story from Halo: Evolutions, was turned into an animated comic on Xbox LIVE back this spring, and makes its web debut now. It's 20 minutes long, the art is spectacular, and if you missed it on LIVE, here's your chance to see it.
- The latest OutREACH segment is an interview with XerxdeeJ, the leader of Tied the Leader. Great discussion about how a little bit of planning can make your Halo experience much more positive!

- padraig08 ran across a Zero Suit Master Chief on DeviantART - what's good for the goose...
- Bry countered with Gruntsu.
- Hedgemony whipped up another old-school Marvel homage cover - awesome.
- TDSpiral was inspired by the cover of Cryptum - but his foray into Forerunner architecture is a little more... spartan. Gorgeous!

Halo Waypoint has a couple of goodies for your entertainment, too - Post-It Note Artwork: Master Chief is a video showing you one pretty cool thing you can do with a LOT of Post-It Notes, and When your character dies in Halo: Reach is a rather odd machinima that I'm happy to say does NOT reflect any reality I know about. Get off my ring!
Chris Pollit is a character artist who decided to take on the challenge of visualizing Master Chief in his late 50s (well, that's silly, he's ALREADY in his 40s by the time Halo plays out - but let's say "older") - he did an amazing job.
