Now With Cov-Fu Action!
Me? Forget to post Comics? That's Unpossible! Today's Halo: Resolution moves into uncharted territory... of a sort. (Louis Wu 18:52:02 UTC)

Miscellaneous Art - finally.
Wow. It's FAR from empty, but the Miscellaneous Art queue just dropped by 15 items... because I just posted that many. There's some good stuff, some bad stuff, and some weird stuff. Look it ALL over. For folks who have submitted comics in the past month or so - PLEASE be patient; we've gotten so many that a new section will open in the not-too-distant future. Okay, time to get back to work. Tina Leyk, Halo Artiste Extraordinaire
A couple of days ago, we got an email from Tim Leyk, who wanted to point out a Halo fan comic created by his sister, Tina Leyk. I visited the site, and was blown away by what I found - she's a fantasy/furry artist, and Fur-lo (her Halo comic) incorporates furry art with Halo themes and not a little bit of humor. The work, quite simply, rocks. Browsing the site, I discovered an entire treasure-trove of Halo-related art, ON TOP of the comic strip - and Tina was kind enough to let us archive her work here so that Halo fans could enjoy it. So here you go: for your viewing pleasure, there's a subsection devoted to Fur-lo, Tina's Halo Furry Fan Comic... and another section devoted to her Halo Fan Art. Enjoy! (Louis Wu 02:52:55 UTC)

Lost in Translation...
343GS.com updated their EchoFourNineteen comic series (check the downloads section) with a new strip on Friday - but we didn't notice. (Thanks, snowy_duck, for pointing it out.) Interesting perspective on the Jackal language... (Louis Wu 15:59:47 UTC)

45 Seconds Too Short
Hehe - there's a new Halo Babies comic up - and I gotta say, I've been there. Oh, yeah, I've been there. Note that this week, while the art is still Gruntsbane's, the strip was written by a fan, vmanjr. Nice to be using community input! (Louis Wu 12:05:19 UTC)

HBN Contest
mrsmiley writes to point out a new contest at Halobabies.net - anyone who is now, or becomes in the next two months, a sponsor of the site ($10 donation) is entered into the contest. Winner will be determined at random from the available pool. The prize - you'll get drawn into a Halo Babies comic (and receive a framed copy of the strip for your wall). Become a sponsor before the end of April for your chance to win! (Don't forget to check out the misc section for a hand-drawn animated short - apparently many of the visitors to the site since the makeover have missed it.) (Louis Wu 10:31:02 UTC)

Got a N00blar? You're FUBAR.
In just long enough to notice a new Subzero Chronicles comic - hehe, I played in a game like this today. Thanks, MarkHawk. Update: should have read the whole thread... MarkHawk points out a new wallpaper, as well. (Louis Wu 01:55:04 UTC)

Random Halo Homage
Da Loaph discovered an interesting little page; it's a part of the Oddlots Irregulars website, and it pays tribute to Halo. There are a couple of comics on the page, as well as a couple of custom gametypes (downloadable, even). Take a look! Update: It's now 2005, and Oddlots has changed its site layout dramatically; that page no longer exists. The two images do, though: Cortana | MC. If the day comes when they're no longer hosted there, you can find them here: Cortana | MC. (Louis Wu 17:01:52 UTC)

Halo Babies is back - with a vengeance
At midnight, PST, this morning, Halo Babies relaunched their website. A new design by Ghôlsbane (who co-maintains our own myth.bungie.org), new artwork, and more - read the entire news post by mrsmiley for details. No new comic (yet) - but the day's not over yet. :) Take a look! (Louis Wu 13:23:58 UTC)

For the ten billionth time...
Since so many people are still confused: HaloBabies is offline. If you go to the site, it will ask for a password. "Offline" here does not mean literally unpowered, it means the site is not fully operational and does not have comics on it. The operators are overhauling the content and it should return pretty soon. There is nothing we at HBO can do about this. So, please stop emailing us... Update:Hehe - see above. Count Zero was completely right to post this - we've been getting a ridiculous amount of mail demanding to know why the Halo Babies website was password-protected until today - and why we hadn't posted more news about this. The timing on his post, compared to the relaunch of the site, is amusing. (Count Zero 06:37:46 UTC)

Master Chief vs Darth Vader
Singh Commando posted a 16-part comic this morning on our forum. He wasnt' sure how long the bandwidth would last, so we put up a mirror of it for him; it's quite good. (I even stole his Slideshow code to display it, though I cleaned it up a little.) Check out Master Chief vs Darth Vader, a humorous look at what might have happened had two universes collided. Buy! Buy! Buy!
The newest Subzero Chronicles comic is online today; some of it makes me uncomfortable, but apparently, the premise is based on a real event. Ouch... (Louis Wu 13:19:11 UTC)

Erraticus Stupendicus Revisited
Oops - another lost one. Last week, we mentioned a comic that had been started (but never finished) by elmatto. It was hosted on Freewebs, though, and bandwidth ran out soon after we mentioned it. We've put up a local copy of the strips themselves, with the permission of the artist - if you didn't catch them then, go catch them now! (Louis Wu 11:30:37 UTC)

More Halo-related sketching
elmatto dropped by our forum to point out an old comic he started drawing about him and some friends playing Halo. It ends rather suddenly (he put it down to lack of interest), but the art style is pretty interesting to me. (Louis Wu 10:29:13 UTC)

Number One One Se7en
So the buildup to One One Se7en number 117 has been pretty big; last week's (Stuntmutt-drawn) strips have all been teasers for it. Several people on our forum speculated that it would be tied, somehow, to the Plinth of Art announcement we made yesterday... but it was noted that main strips don't come out on Sundays. (I was amused that the Sunday strip that DID comment on the Plinth of Art, and that preceded the 117th strip, was number 17... you just can't get away from that stuff.) Anyway, the fact of the matter is, Stuntmutt DID go all out for this one. It's a special 4-page comic; I'm pretty sure he takes the prize in 'Halo on Legendary at Lightning Speed'. Go check it for yourself... (Louis Wu 03:06:19 UTC)

Receiving on Demand
A new Subzero Rivalries comic has been posted - as usual, artwork rocks. (The strip itself, this time around... lots of potential, but I thought the closer was weak. In its defense: the fact that I'm judging it at ALL says something pretty positive. :) ) Thanks to MarkHawk for pointing it out. (Louis Wu 11:00:25 UTC)

Grenade Jumping
Just so it doesn't get buried, it's getting its own news post; Halo Babies has put up a new comic for the week. I found it hilarious... but you probably had to be here in the early days of Halo tricksterism to appreciate it. (Louis Wu 17:59:29 UTC)

Halo Babies - back online!
Halo Babies came back online yesterday, as scheduled. (I forgot to visit; went by this morning to see, and lo and behold, there they were.) There'll be a new comic online today, but right now, they've got last week's comic up, and some new fan art. Go check 'em out! (Or, maybe, better if you wait until today's comic is up. :) ) (Louis Wu 12:49:40 UTC)
