Halo Bulletin: The Master Chief Edition
Halo Waypoint has posted the 117th Halo Bulletin, focusing on the Game of the Year edition (releasing next week), the upcoming Matchmaking Update, the upcoming Matchmaking calendar, a cool Ricochet mod, and a spotlight on aPK's Countdown. Oh... and some orange screenshots. Nice! As always, you can read our local copy if you so choose. (Louis Wu 05:23:34 UTC)

Reconciliation
I watched it last night, but forgot to post this morning... Episode 14 of Red vs Blue Season 11 is live, and things are beginning to coalesce. Will Wash be able to finish what he started? Will Simmons be forever haunted by Grif's dirty socks? Will Freckles kill everyone? Tune in to find out! (Thanks to Morpheus for the reminder.) (Louis Wu 22:58:03 UTC)

Campaign Theater in Halo 4
Teh Ban Stick is a modder who found a way to enable Halo 4 Campaign films. (The reasons why the rest of us don't have this feature are hashed out in the forum thread started by gamerguy2002... but it's still cool to see.) Check it out! (Louis Wu 15:29:08 UTC)

Looking back over the past week
Last night, the latest Halo Bulletin was posted - it reminds people about the Halo 4 Ricochet Forge Contest, gives you details about the changes to Halo 4 Matchmaking that will go live this coming week, and presents a Halo 4 Global Championship Competitor Roundtable, discussing the competition itself and reminiscing about the high points of the event at PAX. Finally, there are some really amazing Energy Sword-based screenshots. As usual, if you'd rather put your eyeballs/browser on a lighter version, we have one in our Halo Bulletin Archive. Summarizing last week's Halo
It's not a surprise that a large portion of this week's Halo Bulletin is focused on the Halo 4 Global Championship Finals - and the read is quite good - but there's other stuff in there, too. Next week's Matchmaking Playlist Update, details about the Game of the Year edition of Halo 4, and cool Pitfall screenshots round out the goodies. If you like light, our Halo Bulletin Archive contains a copy, too. (Louis Wu 21:23:42 UTC)

Now THAT'S a dangerous combo.
So yesterday I cleared out our mail backlog - today I get to clear out the forum backlog. These posts go back as far as August 30, so if you've already found this content on your own, good on ya. First up: some of the artwork created for a videogame art show called 'PRESS START...To Continue' looks... really familiar! Love the juxtaposition with Earthworm Jim. Thanks, mc_leprechaun. (An older picture he found surfaced last year... but I couldn't find a reference.) (Louis Wu 20:03:31 UTC)

Play Halo, Watch Football
VentureBeat has an interesting Halo-related tidbit in an article about football on the Xbox One - the rep played a multiplayer match of Halo 4 while his Fantasy Reel football stats showed (and updated in real time) on the edge of the screen. Fantastic news for multitaskers! Thanks, Josué Schneegans. (Louis Wu 23:09:56 UTC)

Freakin Rad, a group of Halo fans who last year made a live-action video series called 'Respawn the Series', is gearing up for a second season - and they want to ramp it up in an epic way. They've fired up a Kickstarter campaign to earn the money they need to do this right - swing by and watch the explanation video, and maybe toss some bucks in! Thanks to robofin117 for pointing this out. (Louis Wu 16:53:12 UTC)

The Halo Bulletin: August 21, 2013
The Halo Bulletin appeared on Halo Waypoint last night, as it usually does on Wednesday nights - as you might guess, the Champions Bundle plays a large role. However, there's also stuff about the Global Championship, 343's presence at Gamescom, the matchmaking playlist update that will go live next week, more playlist consolidation, and some super-cool mongoose screens. As always, you can read it in our Halo Bulletin Archive, if lighter is better. (Louis Wu 22:31:37 UTC)

Wednesday's Bulletin... on Saturday.
We're way late this week - apologies - but the Halo Bulletin went up as usual on Wednesday, and it covered a bunch of subjects. There's a San Diego Comic-Con wrapup, info about the Champions Bundle, a cool gallery from SDCC, an update on the Halo 4 Global Championship, details on the newest Matchmaking Playlist Update, and some pretty funny screenshots. Halo Custom Edition: Takedown - Project Lawson
MatthewDratt has released Takedown: Project Lawson, a single-player map for Halo: Custom Edition. You can find a trailer here (it's a year old), a ViDoc showing off some of the characters you'll interact with (fun!), the actual download from the HaloCE3 website, or more info (screens, videos, discussion, etc) from HaloMaps.org. Again, you'll need Halo Custom Edition (free, though you need a Halo PC license to use it) - go get started! (Louis Wu 16:38:45 UTC)

Halo Monk Chant at VGL
Last night, the live-streamed Video Games Live concert took place at San Diego Comic Con - and Marty O'Donnell and Mike Salvatori were there. (Their segment starts around 3:16:30 or so in the Twitch.TV archived video.) It's focused on Destiny... but at the start of the segment, Marty and Mike perform an impromptu version of the monk chant from the original Halo theme. Fantastic! Go watch. (Louis Wu 16:24:23 UTC)

Warthog Chase
A Forge With Pete we've never highlighted (because I hadn't noticed it until pete_the_duck mentioned it this morning) discusses a gametype he created called 'Warthog Chase'. I got a chance to play this last night... and I gotta say, it's a heckuva lot of fun. It's a Hill game - but the hill is centered on a Warthog. Every 30 seconds, the hill moves to a NEW Warthog. If you happen to be in the Warthog that has the hill, you get points... unless other hogs are near you. You can't kill each other (well, you CAN drive off the map, but you can't run people over, you can't destroy warthogs, etc), so it's all about getting close to the hill (if you're not it) or away from everyone else (if you are). Simple - and really fun. Try it out! (Map variant is here, gametype is here.) And thanks to Mid7night for reminding me to mention it! (Louis Wu 16:44:45 UTC)

Halo 4 Mythic Difficulty Guide - Infinity
The Tyrant has finished the chapter of his Halo 4 Mythic Difficulty Guide that covers the level Infinity, arguably the hardest level to get through on this highest of difficulty settings. If you're looking to add this particular notch to your belt, reading his guide carefully before you start will go a long way towards a successful run! Go check it out. (Louis Wu 11:25:30 UTC)

The Halo Council Closes its Doors
The Halo Council filled a pretty unique niche when it started up last year - it was competitive gamers who were interested in a Halo that all Halo fans, competitive and casual alike, could enjoy. There are other sites that work that space now (most notably Beyond Entertainment, which was founded by some of the original Halo Council folks), but it's still sad to see an important fansite like this close down. We'll miss you guys! Thanks, pete_the_duck. (Louis Wu 18:25:01 UTC)
