More pretties for your desktop
I do believe I can see the bottom of the art queues. (I'm not sure that's a great thing; I know from experience that when you empty a barrel that you've been using continually for a long time, you find all sorts of nasty growths you never really needed to see.) Anyway, today's batch has been placed in the Wallpaper Section - 10 images that range from a spectacular reworking of a Tina Leyk piece to some peaceful views of an earthlike part of the Halo... and lots of stuff in between. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 22:20:01 UTC)

New movies from TeamX
That Weasel writes to mention two new videos on the Team X subsite of That Weasel Television; Tantrum and Recoil are now available for downloading (along with 12 other vids that folks might not have seen due to bandwidth issues). All movies are in WMP9 format. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 22:29:24 UTC)

Halo 2 Preview at MuchMusic
MuchMusic.com got a chance to play the Zanzibar build at X04 in Toronto a couple of weeks ago - and they, too, have written up their impressions. Check 'em out. Thanks, Bored_dude. (Louis Wu 18:03:28 UTC)

Contests, contests...
We got word of a couple of contests recently; Blade writes about a Halo 2 Cover Design contest, where winning entries get Gmail invites and some Halo 2 material. And Ryan Kiskis, Director of Xfire Business Development, writes to let us know about a Skins contest; design a skin for Xfire (an instant messenger for gamers, with Halo PC and Halo CE support), win a piece of $3000 in cash. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 02:32:47 UTC)

And all with one figure. Wow.
Plasmanator continues the Action Figure Megabattle series started yesterday by Mintz08 - there was a funny one last night, and a pretty dang impressive one today. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 18:30:44 UTC)

Shakeycam gameplay pics
Yesterday, Art Vandelay pointed out some shakeycam photos taken at the X04 Canada event in Toronto, during Halo 2 multiplay. (There are 54 shots in all.) Apparently, they were originally taken by "Biff Sasquatch" of GameFAQs. Extra mirrors for some (or all) of the shots can be found in this TeamXbox thread. Before everyone gets all hot and bothered - most of these are really terrible; blurry, weird angles, whatever. And they're all showing the same E3-based Zanzibar build you saw pics of several months ago. That said, gameplay is gameplay, and you get some new views here. Check 'em out! RvB Set Pieces IV
Hawaiian Pig continues his RvB Set Pieces series with Installment IV - Requests. He's been combining the MegaBattle Picture technique (using the development camera in HaloCE to put multiple characters in the same scene) with the popular machinima series to create scenes from Red vs Blue, in high resolution, as they might look from a different camera angle than the RvB team used. The forum post contains links to the last batch of pics, in case you missed them, followed by a couple of much requested scenes... and some REALLY impressive movie posters for Season 3. Halo50k3 - whatta show!
Wow. Halo50k3 ended with a bang - Team FFA took the final 4v4 title by beating Team StK in a nailbiter of a match, 50-49. Dolbex promises that games will be rebroadcast soon - keep your eyes on mlgpro.com! There are more news articles and more pictures to see, right now. And speaking of pictures - Rapture uploaded another massive batch of photos yesterday - including some nice closeups of the Nightmare Armor helmets that each member of the winning team took home. (Nice bonus prize, eh?) Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 09:13:54 UTC)

The technique pioneered by n00bles continues to inspire; J has posted a pair of screens - quite nice! Check 'em out. Update: and ANOTHER one, from n00bles again! This one is from Claustrophobia, a CE-only level. I've got to grab that... (Louis Wu 09:51:49 UTC)

HaloTV - Streaming Halo Goodness
A forum member reminded me that I'd been meaning to mention HaloTV again. This is a site which provides streaming versions of many popular Halo vids, including some content not available elsewhere. Recently, they opened a beta Red vs Blue channel... a great way to grab a random dose of the funniest Halo serial on the net. If you haven't looked recently, check 'em out! (Louis Wu 12:15:17 UTC)

Lots of writing
Not being able to access the Fan Fiction admin section didn't seem to stop submissions - there are 32 new pieces in the section for you today. Some good, some... um, not so good. Check 'em out. (Louis Wu 11:34:17 UTC)

Video Interviews at TXB
Last week, we posted a note about a streaming live interview with Pete Parsons; if you missed it, Team Xbox (who was present and part of the interview team) has it up for download on their site. It's available in two 17 mb parts (or you can stream it from their servers). WMP9 format. While you're there, there's also a similar interview with J. Allard - much less Halo content, but still some. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 14:17:32 UTC)

Miniature Halo Returns
After a rather long delay, another installment of Miniature Halo has been posted. SESpider has sent page 19 for the collection. He also wanted to point out a Miniature Halo DesktopX theme - you can find it linked to his name at WinCustomize. (Well, you SHOULD be able to find it soon; it's not up yet.) Check 'em out! New screens at B.net
The Bungie crew is back in Redmond, and they've managed to post another pair of new screenshots; a large version of the second leaked screen found last week, and an entirely new dual-needler first-person shot (with a great view of the energy sword). Unfortunately, there's no HUD to see. Check 'em out! First notice came to us from KenshinHimora000. (Louis Wu 00:32:39 UTC)

Comics... a little late
Okay... I'm not home yet (Still in LA for another 24 hours), but I'm finally getting a few minutes on a computer; time to say a HUGE thank you to 3of9 for his amazing coverage as all the rest of us abandoned the site for E3. I'll try to post a few things over the next few hours - I thought I'd start with Friday's comics, which I neglected to post (or let 3 know how to post). Halo: Resolution introduces a new character... and One One Se7en does too. (Different characters.) Go check 'em out! (Louis Wu 03:42:25 UTC)

As promised, we have another batch of 20 desktops for you today; 23, if you want to count the BOLL variants. (Even more if you count the SIZE variants... but BOLL's are actually image variants.) Check 'em out in our Wallpaper section! There's still more in the queue, both wallpaper and miscellaneous art... coming soon! (Louis Wu 15:33:10 UTC)

Concept Art, too.
Nice. We mentioned the new prophet pics NeXuS found on a press server he has access to; he also found some pretty cool concept art. 3 of the four pics are new, and the fourth is larger (and more raw) than its equivalent on Bungie.net. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 03:16:56 UTC)

X-shots...
zarrel40 has put up his own batch of HUDless screenshots - this might be the first batch we've seen from a less-than-top-of-the-line graphics card. They definitely have a unique flavor. Check 'em out! (Thanks, Pico, for the nomenclature...) (Louis Wu 09:38:01 UTC)
