Firefight on Beachhead
There's a full game of Firefight, recorded on the map Beachhead, by the Halo Waypoint team - no voiceovers, just gameplay. (Not always very GOOD gameplay - but gameplay.) You get a great sense of the level itself, see what Wraiths can do, and so on. Thanks, GrimBrother One! (Louis Wu 14:04:00 UTC)

Reach Continues in the News
More Reach coverage - CNet has a 37-minute video podcast in which Reach is played (the Campaign footage is the same as we've seen a dozen times during E3, but the Firefight footage is worth watching - Halo footage starts around 17 minutes in), and Joystiq has a preview with... well, no new info. Thanks to Domino Theory and Dani, respectively, for the links. Update: Another article at Kotaku, discussing difficulty - thanks, GrimBrother One. (Louis Wu 17:57:08 UTC)

G4TV Floor Demo/Jarrard Interview
G4TV also had a session with a Bungie employee - Brian Jarrard laid down some sweet facts along with the demo footage. Definitely worth watching - and discussing. There's a big thread here (thanks, GrimBrother One), Minime637 found an archived streaming version online, and we put up a cropped Reach-only chunk if you'd rather skip all the OTHER game footage. Firefight's back, baby... (Louis Wu 11:47:45 UTC)

Halo Waypoint: New Content, New Challenges
GrimBrother One reminded our forum of the latest offering on Halo Waypoint: a behind-the-scenes video detailing the making of ONE's Evolutions animations, "Midnight in the Heart of Mildlothian" and "The Return". Grim also points out the tough road 343 Industries has ahead of it, even with a talented crew and a fascinating universe. What do YOU think? Chime in. (Louis Wu 19:55:03 UTC)

Looking back at the Beta
GrimBrother One was the first to notice an interesting article at IGN - it's a post-Beta Interview with Brian Jarrard, containing a ton of information about the preliminary findings from the Beta. Startling stats, interesting intuitions, bad-ass bugs. An overall fascinating read... go check it out! (Louis Wu 12:49:31 UTC)

Dragging back the lapsed faithful
GrimBrother One noticed an article on IGN that's worth a read - it's commentary on WHY you should be pumped for Reach. Check it out! (Louis Wu 22:32:00 UTC)

And... more.
sqorck pointed out a bunch of new Reach footage at Joystiq, and 2900d4u pointed out a bunch of new movies at GameTrailers. I'd expect this to continue all day. (You might want to keep an eye on our forum, since I may or may not be able to stay on top of stuff all day long.) Update: IGN has video too - thanks, GrimBrother One. (Louis Wu 14:06:35 UTC)

The Ad Onslaught Commences... Soon
GrimBrother One noticed a new website, Welcome to Noble Team, with a teaser image that makes it clear that content will begin arriving on Wednesday - and onebitrocket found a note on Facebook describing an upcoming Spartan ad that launches tomorrow (on television - not on the web until Wednesday). Birth of a Spartan? Sounds intriguing! (Louis Wu 13:59:01 UTC)

Reach Beta Headhunter Impressions
IGN was first out of the gate with a Reach Beta Hands-on article - skimpy on the info, but it's info! (As the headline implies, it focuses on the Headhunter gametype.) Thanks, GrimBrother One. (Louis Wu 12:45:14 UTC)

Kotaku talks to Sketch about Reach
GrimBrother One pointed out a pair of articles at Kotaku - they both involve questions for Bungie's Brian Jarrard. The first asks about Reach's Beta (key tidbits to be picked up by the gaming press: the beta might hit 3 million people, the max number of players in a multiplayer game may be over 16), and the second talks about how Halo 3 Matchmaking will NOT shut down when Reach multiplayer goes live. Discuss! (Louis Wu 15:07:59 UTC)

McFarlane 2010 Offerings
Toy Fair 2010 happened yesterday - and the news out of McFarlane is Reach-filled. GrimBrother One started the party with a link to Kotaku, but InnerRayg pointed out a lot more pics at Figures.com, and later came back with pics from Cool Toy Review. Go get your fill! (I gotta say, the VISR stuff looks weird.) (Louis Wu 12:48:41 UTC)

Halo Legends Heroes Journey Sweepstakes
Halo Waypoint is running a sweepstakes - GrimBrother One noticed a note on the Waypoint Twitter feed announcing this. Prizes include a trip to 343 Studios, along with a bunch of smaller prizes (Xbox 360s, copies of the video). The Sweepstakes itself is running on Facebook, but codes (to help unlock new content, like poster art and exclusive video clips) can be found on the Halo Legends Facebook profile (different from the Sweepstakes app), MySpace profile, and Warner's Legends website, in addition to the Legends Twitter feed. Go play - new codes every day! (Louis Wu 13:29:22 UTC)

New Reach Wallpapers from Game Informer
GrimBrother One noticed a bunch of new wallpapers available at Game Informer (he got the URL wrong, but don't worry, this one works). They make nice use of the assets released in the past couple of weeks. (Louis Wu 15:06:50 UTC)

Fan art - it's what's for breakfast.
A couple of new pieces of art showed up on our forum last night - TDSpiral revealed 'Last Glimpse', a raw look at a Gravity Hammer from the perspective of a downed ODST (I liked it a lot), and GrimBrother One showed off a bit called 'Darkness and the Intolerance of Waiting' - Cortana and the Chief. Check 'em both out! (Louis Wu 13:04:07 UTC)

Whoa - great news. The three new Halo 3 Mythic maps that were released with Halo 3: ODST are FINALLY going to be available for download on Xbox LIVE, starting February 2. Only a bit over 4 months late! Thanks, Kotaku (and GrimBrother One). (Louis Wu 18:02:15 UTC)

Man... imagine that in a paintball event
GrimBrother One noticed an article about the Ford Amatoya, a firefighting vehicle that might or might not owe some inspiration to the Halo Warthog. Cool car, either way! (Louis Wu 16:29:14 UTC)

MGS4's Sound Director now working on Halo
calmkiller noticed a tweet from 343 Industries - Sotaro Tojima from Kojima Productions (the guy credited with Metal Gear Solid 4's sound direction), has joined the MS Halo team. GrimBrother One found a followup on Kotaku with a bit more detail. (Louis Wu 13:44:03 UTC)

What if Reach were Free?
GrimBrother One ran across a story on IGN wondering whether Microsoft could make more money releasing Halo Reach for free, and then charging for downloads? Feedback on our forum is mostly negative - but what do you think? (Louis Wu 13:43:07 UTC)

Halo Fine Art
GrimBrother One noticed a tidbit at Kotaku about some high end Halo art going on sale soon. There are three giclée prints, framed, published in limited-edition runs of 100, selling for $175 each. (You can actually buy them at Sideshow Collectibles - along with the four previous Halo glicée prints we mentioned almost two years ago.) Just so you're aware: all three of these new prints are avaiable in digital format on our ODST Assets page - they're in resolutions EASILY printable at a large size (24 megapixels for 'A Heavy Toll', 50 megapixels for 'Happy Hunting', 3 megapixels for 'Mombasa Streets' - granted, that one might not be ideal). Googling 'Glicée Printing' shows that a 13x19 print from a digital image will run you less than $40, though you'll still have to frame it. If you want the work done for you, though - this looks like a nice product! (Louis Wu 15:00:25 UTC)

Joystiq interview with Frank O'Connor
Joystiq has an interview with Frank O'Connor - it's from a week ago, but we're hearing about it for the first time today (thanks, GrimBrother One). He discusses the market for Halo merchandise, the goals of Waypoint, and what's coming down the line. Interesting read! (Louis Wu 19:09:36 UTC)

Letting Feedback Take the Lead
GrimBrother One also let us know about an article on Kotaku in which 343 Industries' Josh Holmes holds forth on the future of Waypoint. It can be what you make it - ask, and they'll try and add. Give it a read! (Louis Wu 02:33:34 UTC)
