A couple of short vids from Obienator

Spartan Mk V at Cosplay.com

Stick Different.

A close look at Jasman's Energy Sword
Jasman's Plasma Pistol and Rifle have been news on the toy front for a long time - but until now, I haven't seen a picture (or a price) for the upcoming Energy Sword. BigBadToyStore is preselling all three - but it's the $120 sword that surprises me. They're not promising that this is the final retail price... but even so, wow. Thanks, BARBARIC RAGE. Jasman's Halo Toys at SDCC
Action Figure Insider has an article about some upcoming Halo goodness to be seen at San Diego ComicCon this week - the Halo laser tag set from Jasman Toys, last mentioned a month ago, will be on display at the Tor Books booth. (These products, a plasma rifle and a plasma pistol, will be available in October, with an energy sword coming next year. The Jasman website has no information yet about the Halo stuff. Halo's in the paper everywhere
More newspaper articles from forum members - Spu7n1k grabbed the rest of the Singapore Digital Life article we mentioned a couple of days ago, Rosco-128 snagged some pics from the Queensland (Australia) Courier Mail, and plasmAGuy scanned (and translated) an article in French from a paper in Montreal. StickyCannon - Now Local
A couple of days ago, we mentioned a YouTube vid showing a funny Halo moment (lots of things will fly through a Mancannon, but few of us realized that plasma grenades were on that list). YouTube is great, and all, but I'm still nervous that if I come back in 6 months or a year, that I'll be able to find a vid I liked... so we contacted SG Noodles (he goes by RoundeyeSamurai on Bungie.net), the creator of the vid, and got a downloadable copy from him. You can grab this from us - it's 1.7 mb, in either WMP9 format or QuickTime format. it's a really cool little clip - I wanted to make sure it was archived, and now it is.

Top 20 Weapons? Hmm...
TeamXbox put up a list of their Top 20 Weapons of All-Time - amazingly enough, the Grenade Shield (or Bubbleshield, as Bungie calls it) made the list. (Seems rather absurd to me, actually; not only don't we know how well it works, it's not really even a weapon.) Halo 2's plasma grenade and energy sword also made the list. Pew Pew Pew!
Neo-Genesis posted a link to a Kotaku story announcing a Halo 3 laser tag set. "Halo 3 Laser Command" is slated to feature the Plasma Rifle, Plasma Pistol and the Energy Sword. Not quite sure how the sword's going to figure into that, should be interesting to see. (KP 20:45:36 UTC)

Troy Hurtubise has been working for a while at making a suit that can save a soldier's life. PlasmaFire thinks it might be the precursor to Mjolnir armor (doesn't hurt that Troy says he looked at Halo for inspiration); you can find an article and a video in PlasmaFire's forum thread. Carved Plasma Rifle for Sale

Link Productions Unveils Halo Armor
Over at Halo Planet, I read about another Halo Armor effort - check out LinkProductions (go to 'Props', then 'Halo Props'; there's a full outfit, plus plasma and human pistols. WHAT? HBO has a SHIRT?
There were those that said this day would never come... I was one of 'em. But times change, and opportunities arise, and if you're really, really lucky, you can grab 'em as they're going by. That's true for us... and it's true for you. (Wait - what's he talking about?) I'll tell you what I'm talking about. HBO got together with some of its favorite artists, and put together some amazingly cool stuff for you. We have some totally unique posters that you can't buy - but you can win. Plasma Pistol for Sale
Gryponosiris found a Covenant Plasma Pistol replica (heh - as though there's a REAL one I need to differentiate from) on eBay; two days left, starting bid of $99. I guess this is becoming big business! DOA4 Halo footage at GT
Eep - forgot to post this yesterday - thanks to Capt 0bvious for reminding me. Geary noticed a new trailer at GameTrailers.com, showing off Nicole beating up on some of the other characters in DOA4. It's nice, hi-res footage; not nearly as artistic as Dan Chosich's vid, but high-quality, and fun to watch. (Love the plasma stick!) WMP9 and QuickTime. (Louis Wu 18:09:33 UTC)

There's a very cool new article up at bungie.net, discussing how Nicole, otherwise known as Spartan 458 and a denizen of Nassau Station (found only in Dead or Alive 4), came to be. (First off - the girl is HUGE. 6'8", 370 lbs; she's bigger than your average NFL linebacker. I'm guessing it's solid muscle, though...) There's lots of info about her origins, about her place in the Halo universe, about Frankie's ability (or inability) to pull off a plasma stick in DOA4. Go read! (Louis Wu 03:18:49 UTC)
