DocOctavius started with a shot from the Halo 2 announcement trailer... and morphed into the Nightmare Armor. Electronic to real, in 16 seconds. Movie link is in the forum post. (1.4 mb, quicktime format.) (Louis Wu 11:07:31 UTC)
January 17, 2004 Link to this post Halo: Ice Fields Trailer Released MarkHawk dropped by to let folks know that The new Halo: Ice Fields trailer has been released (visit the Movies section). It's 43 seconds, 11.2 mb in DivX-encoded AVI. It's a tad different from your average Halo movie... there's a lot of non-Halo footage. Like... the whole thing. There's no release date on the movie itself... but this trailer looks pretty intriguing! (Louis Wu 02:13:28 UTC)
January 6, 2004 Link to this post Video Hijinx Hehe - I read the article this morning, but managed to overlook the fact that it was Halo news. Ouch! Thanks to Rams, of BGH, and Dinky, for pointing out the error of my ways. Gamespy posted a 'Year in Video' article, in which they ranked what they considered to be the top 10 game videos of 2003. Halo 2's E3 trailer came in at number 2, trailing only the Half-Life 2 E3 gameplay video. Not too shabby! (Louis Wu 03:04:47 UTC)
January 5, 2004 Link to this post The Continuing Saga... In the last couple of weeks, there have been two new episodes of 343 Guilty Stick sent in; I'm just now getting to them. (Sorry.) Episode 5 looks at the Halo 2 Announcement trailer... and will be continued in the future. Timberland is sort of an interlude. Enjoy! (Louis Wu 15:58:33 UTC)
January 5, 2004 Link to this post Bonus goodies on Platinum Halo discs Almost forgot... we got some cool news from Blackstar recently. For Christmas, he got a spare copy of Halo (Xbox) - everyone should grab this, because it's really cheap right now. For the heck of it, he went to the "Game Demo" options to see if there was anything new... and what should he find but both the E3 Demo trailer and the Making Of video! So, for folks who don't have fast internet connections, or who have better sound systems hooked up to their TV than their computer... you can get these in DVD format on a new copy of Halo! (Louis Wu 11:28:29 UTC)
December 11, 2003 Link to this post AYBE II - It's On, Baby. I can't say I'm thrilled with the subtitle, but the event itself has me all aflutter. Blackstar has put up a news post (and a trailer) for Are You Big Enough II, a lanfest planned for Summer 2004 in Andover, MA. Are You Big Enough (the original) was held LAST summer, and featured an enormous 40 foot projection screen for playing Halo on. The trailer is 22.4 mb, in mpeg-4 format (divx-encoded), and shows off Blackstar's mad moviemaking skillz... Thanks to Alexis for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 10:07:11 UTC)
December 4, 2003 Link to this post A new protocol for movie distribution Thanks to David Tinkler, President of Two Degrees, for providing links for a new peer-based protocol for serving large Halo-related files. You'll find information (and mirror links) in this protocol on both the Inside Halo 2 documentary mirror page posted recently, and the large Halo E3 Demo trailer mirror page. Client is currently Windows-only... but you should check it out! (Louis Wu 22:59:58 UTC)
November 25, 2003 Link to this post Halo Soundtrack - Rereleased, with goodies Nice find by Ross Mills; there's a Special Edition Halo Soundtrack now for sale, from Sumthing Else Music Works. It comes with a bonus DVD that contains trailers and videos of Halo 2, plus Surround Sound versions of new music. (This is the soundtrack Marty mentioned about a month ago, during a Music 4 Games interview.) Grab it now - Amazon's selling it for $14 (though they say they're not shipping for a month...)! Update: Thanks muchly to Adam Leyland, who points out that the 'Buy' link at Sumthing Else points to the original soundtrack at Amazon.com; it doesn't appear that the new one is available yet. You might want to wait to place that order... (Louis Wu 17:47:15 UTC)
November 18, 2003 Link to this post Halo 2 Hip Hop We've received another piece of Halo-inspired music. This one is the Halo 2 Trailer Music, with a hip hop beat. It's 2:13 long, just under 2 mb in size, and the author, chaostheory, had this to say: I am an avid hip hop producer and I noticed the music in the background of the H2 preview was about the right sample speed to loop and mess around with. I absolutely adore Halo, beaten on legendary a few times and play MP regularly so I thought I'd make a halo beat. With the music form the movie, combined with a few vocal grunt samples and the like, I put this together. The drums aren't outstanding and I could have chopped the sample better but it was kind of a rush job....you be the judge. He'd love feedback; if you have any comments, drop 'em off in our forum! (Louis Wu 16:02:43 UTC)
November 8, 2003 Link to this post Flash game... trailer? 343GS has put up yet another teaser for their upcoming Flash Halo game; it's a downloadable standalone Flash executable (runnable only on Windows platforms) with a bit of text about the game. It weighs in at 1.5 mb. Personally, I wish they'd put their efforts into actually CODING THE GAME, and hold back on the PR until it's done... but that's just me. Go grab it from the Junkyard if you're interested. (Louis Wu 15:42:13 UTC)
November 6, 2003 Link to this post Halo Ice Fields Mark Hawk dropped in to our forum to announce a trailer for Halo Ice Fields, an upcoming movie in the style of Red vs Blue. You can find the trailer on the Halo Ice Fields website. It weighs in at 40 mb, in MPEG format. (Louis Wu 12:59:13 UTC)
October 30, 2003 Link to this post Part 3 of the Bungie Fanfest Documentary released There's a report up on Bungie.net about part 3 of the Bungie Fanfest Documentary; this episode looks at the Halo 2 trailer, and the fun surrounding it. As has been the case, you can find 320x240 versions on Bungie.net (linked in that article), or higher-res versions here: Older episodes are linked in this post. (Louis Wu 10:50:30 UTC)
October 25, 2003 Link to this post More Halo sites to look at Website roundup: these are links sent to us in the past few days. Apologies for any delays in posting. I'm sure there were more, but I can't find 'em. :( (Louis Wu 10:56:48 UTC)
October 16, 2003 Link to this post Proliferating Halo sites A whole bunch of clan/news sites in our mailbox recently... I'm sure there are more on the way - that's what's piled up in the last day or two. One of these days, when time permits, we really have to update our Links page. (Louis Wu 10:34:15 UTC)
October 2, 2003 Link to this post Team Sexy gets online Team Sexy Productions, the group behind movies like 'The Hall of the Sidewinder King' and 'Red vs Who?', has put up a website with their existing movies and (soon to come) a trailer on their upcoming miniseries. Check it out! (Louis Wu 08:48:33 UTC)
September 30, 2003 Link to this post High-quality music... coming More info from Neo Alucard X about the Bonus DVD coming from Bungie (Soon™). It's going to have 5.1 versions of both Halo 2 trailers, plus a suite of music from the E3 demo (also in 5.1). Plus a new image. Info comes from the Marty Army chapter of the 7th Column. (If your response is 'huh? WHAT bonus DVD?' - you haven't been keeping up. Neither have we, really... it's been mentioned at that chapter a few times, but I don't have any other info for you.) (Louis Wu 09:17:20 UTC)
September 11, 2003 Link to this post Okay, I want one. Funky - there's a yellow warthog showing on the Bungie webcam at the moment. (If it's gone by the time you read it, you can see a saved picture here.) Whether this is a customized hog (a standard Joyride hog, repainted by a Bungie employee), or a future offering from Joyride, is unknown at this time. It nicely matches the Hog billboard from the Halo 2 E3 trailer... Nice spotting by Poocho. (Louis Wu 17:01:14 UTC)
August 22, 2003 Link to this post RvB - potential snag Just a heads-up... The Red vs Blue team had a hard drive failure last night, and the current work is (at the moment) unreachable. They've got hopes for it, and in any case it's only the most recent work; all past episodes are doubly backed up on DVD. To tide over Sponsors, there's a trailer for a movie Buzby and Matt did a few years ago posted in the Sponsors forum. (Makes me want to find the whole thing...) Everyone else... just sit tight. (Louis Wu 16:03:07 UTC)

A couple of these came really close to being rejected for lack of proofreading... folks, put a LITTLE time into presentation, okay? (Louis Wu 10:51:50 UTC)
August 18, 2003 Link to this post E3 Demo Trailer on OXM disc It's been mentioned several times now, but 2 cents just reminded us that we'd never put it on the front page. The September issue of the Official Xbox Magazine contains the E3 Demo Trailer on its companion DVD; if you haven't seen it in 5.1 Surround Sound goodness, here's your chance! (Louis Wu 17:23:00 UTC)
August 2, 2003 Link to this post Ownt.com reviews the E3 demo trailer Ownt.com took a pretty in-depth look at the E3 demo trailer recently - you can read their 2-page review on their website. On our forum, reaction seems to be mixed, with some readers enjoying the article and others finding it inaccurate... check it out and judge for yourself! (Louis Wu 09:33:32 UTC)
July 31, 2003 Link to this post E3 Trailer on TechTV James DeWitt points out that TechTV will be broadcasting the full 8 minute E3 Demo Trailer this Monday at 11:30 pm (also twice on Tuesday - see TechTV's schedule for details). If you haven't had an opportunity to see this in full-screen glory, this is your chance! (Louis Wu 10:23:53 UTC)
July 30, 2003 Link to this post Marines Trailer Available Darksage created a trailer for an ambitious project: a new, full-length feature film, called Marines. You can find the trailer (in a variety of formats) over at the Drunk Monkeys Productions download page. (I'd suggest holding off on either of the QuickTime versions; there's a much-better-quality copy coming soon. It's 3.1 mb, so if that's what's listed when you read this, go ahead and download.) There are two other movies on that page - the first was originally mentioned here (with a link to a smaller .mov version), and the second is one we chose not to host. (Louis Wu 15:48:20 UTC)
July 29, 2003 Link to this post It's about the Red guy. Lion has released two trailers for a new series, Oddballs. You can find download links (both WMP9 and MPEG) on his Truth and Reconciliation forum. The actual series is coming soon! (Louis Wu 00:21:02 UTC)
July 19, 2003 Link to this post Sidewinder Saga links - all in one place We've put up a mirror page for the Sidewinder Saga, because it was getting confusing figuring out where (outside of the Halogamers.com home site) you could get the various movies. Thanks to Team Ice for their mirroring help - as an aside, Blade has also posted the Halo 2 Announcement trailer and The E3 Demo trailer on their video page. (Louis Wu 10:56:39 UTC)
