Halo 3: It'll beat on your server.
Wow. I think we might have weathered the storm. Last night, we helped Bungie host "Our Favorite Things", a trailer that should pump you up for the Heroic DLC (whether you have it or not) - We served nearly 25,000 copies of it from three separate pipes in the past 12 hours, eating almost a terabyte and a half of bandwidth. I know that some of you went away empty-handed - I'm sorry about that. The load on all three servers is down a bit right now, and the YouTube version Bungie posted last night did, eventually, show up. For those who watched it - what did you think? If you haven't seen the Weekly Update yet (which provided great new pics of Avalanche, details on when you'll hear more about the third new map in the upcoming Legendary map pack, a reminder that Team SWAT is going strong for the weekend on LIVE, and a link to the new Bungie podcast, featuring Chris Butcher, in addition to the movie itself), you should visit Bungie.net and do so (or read it in our Weekly Update Archive). Pixellated Halo: The Trailer
Leviathan has been working on Pixellated Halo for a while now - he's getting tired of boring still shots for updates. So he made a movie. It's a bit over 3 minutes long, and it does a good job of showing off gameplay, scenery, and cutscenes - it looks pretty exciting! You can grab it in WMP9 or QuickTime format from us - your choice. Fathom: The Director's Cut
Mythica was hiccuping yesterday (a taste of things to come? Remember, you've only got until the end of this month to download what you want from there), so I wasn't able to announce a Director's Edition (basically, commentary by blackouTT) of Fathom, which had a trailer released last July. If you swing by the HaloGrid forum now, you can find mirrors (WMP9 and QuickTime) being hosted by GamingTV. You might find it interesting to see how these guys worked with each other and put this film together. Jonathan Quail Release Trailer
Trigger119 pointed us to a teaser trailer for Jonathan Quail, a machinima project from CROSSFIRE. This puppy's been in the works for a while (we saw our first trailer for it back in October), but we now have a release date for the final product - January 17 (that's tomorrow, for those of you in a fog). This teaser is more an advertisement for color filters in movie effects programs... but CROSSFIRE's got a long history of fantastic machinima projects, so I'm willing to wait and see what comes tomorrow! Game Head - GotY nominees clip
SpikeTV's 2007 Video Game Awards are being broadcast tomorrow night - but on GameTrailers, you can watch a clip from Game Head in which a lot of industry professionals discuss Halo 3's chances for Game of the Year.
