BlitzSnake sent word that a NEW trailer for Neurons 2 is now up on YouTube. (The last one was posted in February. And if I hadn't been told this was a Halo machinima, I sure wouldn't learn that from the new trailer...)

June 5, 2008 Link to this post RvB 1, Armor Testing Recreated with CGI Major.Dump stopped by with a couple of eye-popping links - these are movies he created as CG adaptations of existing material. The first is a reproduction of Red vs Blue Episode 1, and the second is a trailer for his interpretation of the 'Armor Testing' story seen in the Halo Graphic Novel. Both are astounding - I hope we can get high-res versions of these that we can share. In the meantime, though, go watch the YouTube versions. They're great. Update: Thanks a million to Laird, who was able to get us HD (1280x720) copies of both movies. I'm putting up double mirrors of these, just in case demand is high. The Armor Testing Trailer is 88 mb in WMP9 format, 95 mb in QuickTime format: WMP9 Mirror 1 | WMP9 Mirror 2 | QT Mirror 1 | QT Mirror 2. The CGI version of RvB's Episode 1 is 98 mb in WMP9 format, 102 mb in QuickTime format: WMP9 Mirror 1 | WMP9 Mirror 2 | QT Mirror 1 | QT Mirror 2. Grab the one(s) you need! (Louis Wu 15:31:29 UTC)

May 26, 2008 Link to this post Halo Memorial Day Tribute
big appleton created a Memorial Day tribute, using cutscene footage along with footage from other trailers and promotional material - very nicely done. A fitting video as the US takes a day to remember those who've sacrificed to protect her. (If you choose to respond to his forum post, please remember our rules regarding political discussion - this isn't the time to announce that you don't approve of soldiers, okay?) May 19, 2008 Link to this post Halo Wars - a new screen? Psychophan7 noticed an article at Kotaku discussing a claim at GamerCenterOnline.net that they'd put up 3 new shots from Halo Wars. Two of the three shots are quite old (the Sparrowhawk shot was first released in March 2007, and the ridgeline with Banshees comes from the original Halo Wars cinematic trailer released in September 2006)... which makes me a bit suspicious about the third shot. I can't find a source for it... but it looks 'old' to me. If we get confirmation, either that this is a new shot or that this is old, we'll update this news post. Update: Thanks to Mr Sprout, over at Halo Wars Central, for pointing out that that third shot is, indeed, old. (Louis Wu 13:59:40 UTC)

April 15, 2008 Link to this post Vidtacular
I'm out of town, so news might be slow for a couple of days - but it's amazing how many movies were announced today. I can't even watch most of them, so you're on your own in terms of quality (you might be able to get some idea from the respective forum posts): - Vash10 pointed out a video called 'Diamondback', showing highlights of an epic game of CTF on a Forged version of Avalanche. This one I watched - fantastic.
- AoD Deadite announced the Dispatch Custom Game Night #2 video - games played last week.
- Howlingwolf came by with news of a trailer for 82nd Airborne.
- Phatcorns told us about a montage put together from a single Neutral Assault game on Standoff - lots of kills, no win. (Nice timing with the music, though.)
- Z sent along a link to Im'ma Shine, a hard-to-classify montage-like video. (I haven't been able to watch this yet.)
That should be enough to keep you watching for a bit... (Louis Wu 04:28:14 UTC)

April 5, 2008 Link to this post Red vs Blue: Reconstruction
The Rooster Teeth crew have announced a new machinima series - Reconstruction. These guys will show you why they're the best-known Halo machinimators out there - the trailer looks fantastic, and should leave you drooling for the first episode. This one definitely looks more serious than the original RvB series (though Burnie says "don't let appearances fool you") - it's more along the lines (so far) of the Recovery One miniseries. Go watch it on their site, or download it in QT or WMV formats - and get ready! Thanks to Alloran, who was first to let us know. (Louis Wu 18:02:33 UTC)
April 3, 2008 Link to this post Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack Trailer Available I'm sure there's already a 50-post thread on our forum about this... but I'm just walking in the door, and it's news, so I'm posting it. Bungie has put up a short trailer (1:20 long) showing off the Legendary maps - I don't know who's doing the voiceover, but they do Byron sweet justice. Go grab this, in one of 6 flavors. And drool. Maps coming in less than 2 weeks. Update: David Scully does the voiceover. The man's amazing. Update 2: If you want to stream this, it's available at YouTube (thanks, GH) and Vimeo (thanks, RVideo). (Louis Wu 17:28:31 UTC)

(I can't find a way to link to the post directly, but as of now it's on top.) If it looks like fun, they're doing this every Friday night. (Louis Wu 21:29:02 UTC)
