The New Number Six
As expected, the Halo Reach trailer had its world premiere on the Spike Video Game Awards last night (Halo 3: ODST came away with 'Best Original Score' - nice job!) - if you missed it, Bungie has put up direct downloads in a plethora of flavors. It's a two and a half minute introduction to Noble Team - go meet 'em! (As you might expect, pretty much every Halo forum on the net is full of discussion - you're welcome to join in.) Wait... Reach? What's Reach?
Bungie's Weekly Update is live - there's some info about the trailer that's dropping tomorrow on Spike's Video Game Awards, there's info on the upcoming changes to the Reach project page, there's some pimping (we already mentioned the deal, but hey, if you follow their link, Bungie gets a bigger cut), there's info on the next podcast, there's some funny stuff from Harrison's mom, and there's a cool pic from Stosh. N.O.V.A. - take it with you
Stuntmutt stopped in to point out that Pocket Gamer wonders whether the Karl Wardin character from the upcoming iPhone shooter 'N.O.V.A.' looks a lot like the Master Chief...? (From looking at the trailer Stunt linked to, I'd say that the first gun you see has definite Battle Rifle overtones... but the gameplay itself looks more like Unreal.) (Louis Wu 19:59:20 UTC)

Halo Legends: Japanese Release Date, Cover Art, Preview
mendicantbias00 let us know that Kotaku has info about the Japanese release date of Halo Legends (February 16 - one week after the US release date), and some cover art (this seems to be new). And thanks also to CaptainTony, who pointed out that there is a trailer and a concept art sketchbook up on Halo Waypoint for 'The Package', the next Legends episode to be shown (Part 1 will be up this Saturday for the standard 24 hours). Battle of the Brick - Exclusive Trailer
Kooberz is back, with a new trailer for his upcoming LEGO Halo fan film. The first trailer for this film went live in April - clearly, quite a bit has been done since then. Inside Gaming Awards
Machinima.com is kicking off the 'Inside Gaming Awards' this year - to be held the day before Spike's Video Game Awards. Halo 3: ODST is up for an enormous list of awards: Game of the Year, Best Trailer, Best Narrative, Best Control, Best Original Score, and Best Weapon (for Silenced Pistol). Good luck! Bungie's Comm Chatter is full of new vids for you to watch, as the countdown to ODST continues:
- GameTrailers has released Chapter 3 of its "Bonus Round" episode, recorded at PAX - Bungie's Brian Jarrard continues the discussion with N'Gai Croal and Randy Pitchford about game marketing. Halo, of course, is talked about.
- Arby 'n' the Chief, continues its final 'episode' - Endgame, Part Three is now live. (I'm losing track of what's going on.)
- Remember when Halo 3 launched, and Mega64 was unhappy? They're unhappy again.
- Wanna watch a warthog montage? ObiWanStevobi has one for you.

Halo 3: ODST - the reviews
The review embargo on Halo 3: ODST lifted last night at midnight (eastern)... and they've been pouring in. I don't think I can keep up this pace - but here's the first few dozen that showed up in my Google alerts. (NNS means 'no numeric score', and these are in alphabetical order.)

The ODST content flood continues
ODST drops in 3 days, but the web content has already begun to explode. (Full reviews are still embargoed until midnight (eastern) tonight, so any that you see today will be from folks who weren't at press events.) Stuff we've heard about in the last half-day or so:
- Kombo.com has a campaign hands-on - no spoilers, just impressions of the differences between ODST and Halo 3, in terms of gameplay. Good read. (Thanks, James Center)
- Gamespot has a preview of the weapons of Halo 3: ODST. Includes wielding tips.
- Gamespot also has a playthrough vid of the first hour of Halo 3: ODST (well, 49 minutes or so). Count on the first hour's worth of secrets to be spoiled. (Thanks, serpx)
- IGN posted a fun video that summarizes the Halo story in 5 minutes or so - obvious story spoilers, and I think if you had never heard of Halo, it would make almost no sense... but for Halo fans, it's quite funny. Thanks, FassinTaak.
- IGN also posted a tiny (30 second) ode to the Halo 3: ODST pistol - it's a Headshots minitage. Thanks, Minime637.
- Gametrailers has posted a bunch of new clips - cinematics, some firefight vids, campaign gameplay. No real spoilers.
- TeamXbox Has posted a bunch of new vids, as well - all campaign clips.
