New discovery supports old rumor
It's time you start believing in destiny.
Tracing the paper trails of Bungie employees, I discovered Podophobia Entertainment, a dummy corporation formed by company president Harold Ryan and composer Martin O'Donnell. And wouldn't you know it, a quick trademark search for the company revealed a listing for "Destiny."
Does that name sound familiar? It's the title an ex-Bungie contractor leaked to Kotaku after he said he was fired. He also said the game blends together first-person shooter, MMO and sci-fi elements.
The trademark describes the game as "[c]omputer game software downloadable from a global computer network."
NeoGAF member Willeth noticed strange symbols on a Bungie employee's T-shirt in a recent video from Penny Arcade. The small symbol on his left shoulder matches the logo in the listing.
According to Trademarkia, the trademark was filed July 20, 2009, and it was granted a second extension on March 7.
Podophobia Entertainment goes back to May 8, 2006, according to the Delaware Division of Corporations. It is now listed as inactive.
The company has a second trademark filed, "Be Brave," which was also granted a second extension on Feb. 24. The description for the trademark is nearly identical to the one for "Destiny." (Hitmonchan 13:38:25 UTC)

A Spartan Sculpt - you can have one too
Last month, I mentioned that Jason Evans had completed some Master Chief sculpts in cold-cast bronze, and sometime earlier, I mentioned that he was interested in selling them to help him pay for the mold. They really seemed pretty cool to me - so I bought a pair. One is for me - it goes on one of my Halo shelves. The other will be given away in an upcoming HBO contest/giveaway. (I have no idea when; I'd first have to come up with a plan for the contest itself.) I took a few shots of this bad boy out in front of our newly-sprouted flowers - because what's more warriorlike than a flowered background? Doing Good
Those of us who've followed Bungie for a while know that they care a lot about people outside their studio - looks like the world's gonna know that, too. NowGamer noticed that Bungie has filed a new trademark registration - 'Bungie Foundation', with the following description in the 'Goods and Services' section: "Providing grants to charitable, arts, non-profit, and community organizations". Forerunner Font. Usable.
Omega found a site that lets you create fonts easily... so he created a font for the Forerunner alphabet used in the Halo 3 Terminals. To say I'm flabbergasted would be an understatement. Go check this out - it's just plain cool.

Sometimes I love UPS
I love them because they bring me cool things. Today I got a package sent by Geoff Chang (you might remember a foamcore BR he built a few years back); some time ago, he'd created a scale foamcore Assault Rifle (MA-5), and he wanted HBO to have it. So now we do.

ubald moves on
Due to a problem with our email spam filters, it seems we've been blocking a lot of mail in the past month or so. Things are cleared up (if you sent us something and it seemed to have entered a black hole on this end, you might want to send it again), but it's been discovered that one of the things we lost was the final body of Halo renders from Tony 'ubald' Marcotte. Over the past month, he's sent along 5 new images, and apparently, he's done with Halo renders at this stage. We've added them to his gallery here - and you really should take a look. OC's Spike Grenade
You might remember smick6 - he created a pretty cool Brute Spiker last year. He's back, with a spike grenade he whipped up for the Operation Chastity crew - he sent us some pics. (It's hand-crafted, its design a combination of the Weta and in-game versions. The version you see here is ABS plastic - but it can be made with aluminum blades, for the brave. Okay, I'm thinking of changing the website name:
What do you think? A couple of days ago, Kotaku posted this note, suggesting that Gamestop stores around the US got an email stating firmly that Halo 3 would not be out in 2006. (A million of you sent this in, linked from many sites - I was going to ignore it altogether, until...) Yesterday, a DIFFERENT site (HEXUS.gaming? Never heard of 'em) posted a note stating that Halo 3 was actually finished, and held at the replicators, awaiting the go-ahead from Microsoft before being manufactured and delivered. We've got a 'too early' and 'too late'... I'm waiting for Baby Bear's prediction. Do I need to remind you that until Bungie says something, everything you read is subject to correction? I hope not.
