Quick Roundup of New Content
There was an amazing amount of new content (and analysis of new content) released yesterday, with respect to the newly-announced Halo: CE Anniversary Edition (coming November 15) and Halo 4 (coming winter 2012) - we hit the highlights yesterday, but here are some of the extra tidbits I found buried in our forum. There's plenty more - if you need every bit you can get, keep a window open there!
- Geoff Keighley interviewed Frankie about the Halo 4 teaser and Halo: Anniversary (thanks, INSANEdrive)
- IGN posted a Rewind Theater episode to analyze the Halo 4 trailer - nice recap (thanks, Chris101b)
- The latest 343 Sparkast is up from 343i (not yet on the rss feed, though) - thanks, Joshua Allen (who also uploaded the Halo: Anniversary main theme).
- If you want to grab logos or a high-res version of the Halo: Anniversary trailer, swing by the Xbox.com Press page - thanks, Asian Inferno. (The Halo 4 trailer is NOT there, unfortunately. You CAN view it on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, and Gamersyde has a 720p version - thanks, AladelAngel.)
- DHalo pointed out a high-res version of the Halo 4 splash, suitable for backgrounding.

Awake
It really feels like anything I can write in this post is going to be incredibly underwhelming, but as you may have heard, there were two megaton announcements at E3 for Halo fans. First up was Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, a completely remastered and faithful return of the game that started it all. Maybe the biggest surprise was Microsoft closing the press conference with the announcement of a new Halo Trilogy, starting with Halo 4. Professor Plum Avoids the Timmies
DHalo dug up a pretty interesting interview with Mrs Doublefire, over at 2old2play - this was published last September, but it's the first I'm hearing about it. Mrs Doublefire is a name that might be familiar to some - he was a major player in the Halo PC building community, and later worked for Bungie as an environment artist on Halo 3 and Reach. It's a fascinating discussion explaining how he got hired (through a contract agency), how Halo 3 would have been different without him, and more. (Did you know that Corvette was the geometry they used to make the 'Deliver Hope' trailer? I can see it now, but I certainly didn't know it before.) Go read! (Louis Wu 18:56:50 UTC)

Project Lumoria Updated
Subtank stopped by yesterday with word that Project Lumoria (a Halo: Custom Edition mod) had updated their single-player map... and MatthewDratt, a member of the TM Mapping Team (the group behind this project), followed up with a download link from Lumoria's own website (along with a new trailer for the project showing off the improvements). 'Halo: Legacy' Full Trailer

Are you bored? Does the outside world seem foreign and inhospitable? I answered yes to both, so here's what I found to pass the time:
- Want to watch 116 players duke it out in a Halo-themed paintball contest? Payback350z has you covered. The player running around with the Energy Sword was awesome, and so was the first-person shooting.
- Here's a fan-made Halo movie trailer from 5233484. According to the description, he or she has never played the games before. Judging from the username, he/she is actually a robot, and this is a warning to humanity that our dependency on technology will bring about our untimely demise.
- Continuing the trend, tu1785566 made a Halo funtage with clips from Halo 3 and Reach. A rather unfortunate song choice, but the clips were good fun.
- Freelancer824 sliced together Halo cutscenes to the song "For the New Lunar Republic," which is apparently a bada** fan-made song for My Little Pony.
- The new "Pregame Lobby," titled "Things Change," is online. There's some NSFW language for you work types.
- Part five of Machinima Respawn's "Adventures in Halo: Reach Campaign Matchmaking" is up. In case you missed them, here are the first four parts: (1 | 2 | 3 | 4).
- DetoX edited a Halo 3 montage featuring RPG Hero. The video has NSFW lyrics.

Halo Waypoint - Near and Far
Looks like there's some pretty big news coming from Halo Waypoint today - CVG has an article about a bunch of new features for the Xbox LIVE version of the portal (we've put up lots of new screenshots here), and the tail end teases bigtime:
The Halo franchise will be enjoying its 10th Anniversary this year, with celebrations kicking off at the Penny Arcade Expo Prime in Seattle on 26, 27 and 28 August. Stay tuned for more information about the celebrations.

News from Elsewhere Sunday (Part 3)
Hitmonchan, after promising he was done for a while, came back this afternoon for ANOTHER round of Halo links. While I was out enjoying myself in Community BTB, he was sweating away in a room full of small children - wait, that's not right. Anyway, check out his finds.
- Slashprofilms tried to create a Jaws parody in the Reach engine. They ran into some problems.
- A gamesite editor is giving away a copy of Dr. Halsey's journal on Twitter - swing by if you'd like to get in on this.
- An article that seems to have been written several months ago showed up on X360 Magazine's website - they've come up with alternative punishments for Reach cheaters.
- He found a couple of nice montages - Arkanum and Thrust's Snipetality-edited trailer, and Just Mad's "I'm Still Just Mad 2" (it's old, but we've never mentioned it). Update: Oops, that was I'm Still Just Mad (the first one). The second one is here. Thanks, HMC.

- MachinimaRespawn has posted another promo piece - this one stars Mrs Sark, Hutch, and the Dead Pixel. While I'd appreciate the help... I could live without the underwear.
- Justgameblogger is hosting a Reach FFA tourney on LIVE, with a Gamestop giftcard (or MS Points) as the top prize. Game day is next Wednesday.
- TheGamersHub posted a review of the Defiant Map Pack - probably not TOO many people still undecided about this, but you never know!
- NightshadeMachinima posted a Halo: Reach rendition of the Men in Black theme song. Pretty nicely done!
- jimexproductions1 cut a Halo Reach Trailer - it's not perfect, but it's pretty cool nonetheless! Go watch it.

And To Dust We Shall Return
Siliconmaster stopped by to give us an update of sorts on a machinima project he used to head up, called "Dust to Dust". We featured the trailer here way back in 2007. Unfortunately, the project never came to fruition, but Siliconmaster recently ran across some footage and demos of the movie, and decided to create a short compilation reel of what he found. The result is a very cool 5 minutes worth of creative talent and obviously hard work. Some of the scenes are REALLY cool. Go and check it out! (GrimBrother One 15:23:07 UTC)
