Pictures needed
SESpider wrote to ask for input for his Miniature Halo series. This time, though, he needs pictures. In his words:
I need fans, that can, to get images of the inside of a Covenant Cruiser's Hallways and Cells (and maybe bridge Room).
The Halls:
The Halls can be Empty or with Covenant In them. There can be NO weapon fire, simply because it'll take too long to edit out. The views can be from above the ceiling or from a walking position. NO Humans whatsoever! But I can edit out Master Chief's gun if need be.
The Cell Room:
These have to be somewhat well-lit (but normal like) with Covenant walking about. The views can also be from any angle you choose as long as the Covenant inside are not always in the same spot (unless sleeping).
The Cell:
I need a few good low shots from inside the cells (with or without plasma doors). These shots have to have the cell itself empty and looking out toward the Plasma Door or/and ceiling.
I would get these images myself, but I don't have any decent program to make them large, clean and clear enough for use.

Man, why can't people paint these for ME?
A note came in last week, just in time for me to read before leaving for San Francisco. I'd hoped it would make it into the next Miscellaneous Art update, which (I'd also hoped) would be coming soon. Well, it can STILL make it into the update, but that update isn't coming right away, and this picture is pretty slick, so I'm putting it up now. The note came from Ryan Sellers, whose wife Heather painted this life-size Master Chief (well over 6 feet tall, 181k image) on a friend's wall. Now THAT would be something interesting to wake up to! MC Wearable Suit - now with a helmet
We've been chronicling the construction of a wearable Master Chief suit, as created by Chris Bryan. A couple of days ago, he sent along the latest shots; the helmet is finished. Clipping Fun on Two Betrayals
Edge_343 popped onto our forum yesterday to ask if anyone had ever gotten a Warthog into the final cutscene of Two Betrayals. I told him that, to the best of my knowledge, nobody had ever filmed this before, so he sent us some footage. 7.7 mb, QuickTime format; it shows how the hog was pushed through the broken door (nothing really new here) and blown up to the platform outside the final pulse generator (a non-trivial task in the dark and the snow). The cutscene definitely never expects the Warthog to be in that final room... because it puts the master chief RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT, ignoring all the niceties of stuff like the solidity of metal, and such. A fun glitch! (Edge_343 points out that none of this would have been possible without his brother, Guardian-X; it was a joint effort.) (Louis Wu 12:37:12 UTC)

Master Chief Suits - now from multiple sources!
For some time, we've been getting astounding material from Chris Bryan - you can see some of it in our Miscellaneous Art section, and you can check out his working Halo 2 Battle Rifle. For the last couple of months, he's been working on a wearable Master Chief suit, and we've finally gotten around to putting up the pictures he's sent. You can find them in our Miscellaneous section. (As he sends more, we'll add to this page.) I wanted to get this stuff posted, because the interest in this sort of thing is rising rapidly, spurred by a recent post about a group called Nightmare Armor, making full body armor that you'll eventually be able to order. They have a helmet coming in the next few days - but the site is constantly being tweaked (nothing like a bit of interest to inspire the web guys :) ), and Webshift has posted an armor strength tidbit to our forum. I think it's fantastic that there are multiple projects like this going on... a testament to the inspiring force of Halo! (Louis Wu 12:51:59 UTC)

More Photoshop madness at MacGamer
Last week, MacGamer gave away 5 copies of Halo in a Photoshop contest (Master Chief on vacation). Apparently, it was successful enough that they're doing it again - this time, though, you need to put the Master Chief in a major Hollywood movie. Halo - Master and Chief
You might recognize the name Justin Durban. In the past year or so, he's put together some pretty impressive Halo music... and now there's more. Just posted this morning on his website is a piece called 'Halo - Master and Chief', and here's what Justin has to say about it:
Ahhh.. the sweet radar of the familar opening choral chant to HALO sparked my inspiration to do this track. Full of energy, no room to breath and hopefully glorifies the magnificance of this wonderful game. Thanks to my brother who helped me come up with the name. He was staring at this plaster cruise ship hanging above our fireplace at the time and reminded him of a Naval Sea battle based around Master and Commander. So.. ya. what a better name.. The main character to HALO is a soldier simply titled, "Master Chief". I can't wait for HALO 2! Original score by Marty O'Donnell.

A Rocket Launcher You Can Hold
Wow. Master Chief Cutter has put together a full size rocket launcher. It doesn't actually shoot... but that's probably a GOOD thing. It's over 4 feet long, and there are a bunch of blurry pictures on his website here. (I grabbed local copies, so someone should drop me a line if this dies; we'll put up a mirror here.) Action figure preorders now up at the Bungie Store
Wave 2 of the Halo Action Figures (Red Master Chief, Elite, Ghost) are now available for preorder from the Bungie Store. This is of special interest to non-US residents, since DieCastExpress (the primary web outlet for Joyride's action figures) doesn't ship internationally. As the Elite would say, wortwortwort!
