Halo 2 Wallpaper theme - you decide
Interesting - zoe, the artist responsible for several of Bungie's coolest wallpaper creations, is asking for fan input on her next creation. She's got a quickpoll up in her Seventh Column chapter, asking 'Which paint job would you most like to see in a 3d render of Master Chief for a desktop wallpaper?' (Choices range from jet black to zebra stripe, with a whole lot in between.) If you want to contribute, go vote! (You don't need to be a chapter member to vote, though nothing's stopping you from joining.) Word about this came from MakaVeli4Life1, a moderator over at the Bungie.net forums. Waldo ain't got nothing on the MC
Recently, Saint's been running some fun mini-contests on our forum, called 'Where's The Master Chief?' An invisible MC is placed somewhere in a screenshot of a Halo level, and it becomes your job to find them. (We haven't been front-paging these because the files are pretty huge (a front-page link might swamp psyjnir.org, the host), and because they're being solved fast enough just with forum regulars participating.) Yesterday, he upped the stakes a bit; instead of just the warm glow of knowing you found him fastest, Saint offered to make custom screenshots for the winners of a 6-image contest. Halo on GBA - No Way
A few weeks ago, we mentioned a rumor that had surfaced in a recent issue of EGM - that there was a possibility of a Game Boy Advance Halo title in the works. Today, Frankie puts that rumor to bed over on Bungie.net. Personally, the fact that the ColecoVision talks fell apart is more of a shocker... but things are what they are. We, of course, all can go back and forth...but I'm sticking to my guns on this. I've been told by multiple development sources that a Halo GBA project has at least been in the "looking into" stages since before Christmas. Anything can happen between now and then, of course, but don't expect it until 2005 if production moves forward.
I don't think anyone's lying here - but it makes you wonder, is there some Marketing guy somewhere spreading this story around, in an effort to make it happen by fan pressure alone? Fun fun fun. Thanks to Ash, who found this on Shacknews. (Louis Wu 01:17:34 UTC)

Nightmare Armor on TechTV
Rockhard noticed an interesting clip on TechTV; a pillow fight with some models and a host goes awry when the Master Chief gets involved. Webshift, from the Nightmare Armor crew, confirmed that it was, indeed, one of theirs, and mentioned an upcoming interview. JoyRide's Site Updated
There are a number of new pics at the Joyride site - including the Black Master Chief and some new 5-packs. There's also a Halo checklist for all the figures, which lists everything including Exclusives (a Battle Damaged Cobalt Master Chief from Gamestop, the Battle Damaged Black MC from ToyWiz, and the Battle Damaged Maroon MC from Gamespot (though we have other sources suggesting this will be available at Hollywood Video, instead). New Action Figures at EBGames
The 'Loot points out a new Exclusive action figure at EBGames - the Cobalt Master Chief. No pics yet, but it's shipping on July 13. They're also taking pre-orders for the Halo 2 Brute and the Halo 2 Green Master Chief, both shipping on October 11, according to EB. Is your collection complete? (Louis Wu 16:18:01 UTC)

Passions Enjoying Themselves
It's music day here at HBO. We got word from Marc at Halo Universe that they had a new piece of fan music, created by Ultrash, called 'Halo: The Resistance'. It's a gorgeous piece... techno-ish. It reminded us that there were a couple of pieces here, waiting in the queue... what better time to release than on Music Day? The first is a piece called 'Programmed for War', created by Rayagon, and originally posted 6 months ago on the Overclocked Remix forums (found and brought to our attention by Pepper4099); I contacted the author, and he had no problem with our making it available to the Halo community in general. He considers it a work-in-progress, but he's not sure he'll ever get around to another edit, so this is a fine time for release. In his words, "I was just feeling like channelling the Master Chief badassedness into some music one day, and the mix came out." It's got an interesting feel to it. The other piece we have here is a bit different; it's bits of dialogue, set to a Halo soundtrack, comprising what the author, Rob (Hippo) Palardy, considers "some of the finer parts of Halo, both gameplay and story." Between the three, you should find something you enjoy listening to!

Toy Confusion
Hmm. Over at Rampancy.net, there's a pointer to a new page at the Joyride Studios site, showing a 'sneak peek' at the Waves 4 and 5 action figures, as well as early views of the Halo 2 prototypes. However - this is just a rehash of the page posted at Bungie's Truth and Reconciliation site, which went live back on February 14. ALL of these pictures came from the show itself, and if what you're interested in is Halo 2 shots, then what you REALLY want is this page at figures.com (a site first mentioned by Dan Chosich on February 18). Battle Damaged Sniper
Gamestop got an exclusive Battle-Damaged Master Chief action figure - he looked like the regular MC, but his armor was scratched up, and he came with a plasma rifle instead of a sniper rifle. (He still got a pistol and his trusty AR.) WizardUniverse hs now unveiled a new Exclusive - the Battle Damaged Sniper, due to ship June 30. Some people have too much free time.
Whoa. You think YOU'RE an obsessed Halo fan? You got nuthin' on this guy. Danny Kolacz is a diehard Halo collector, but he's always been unhappy that the Active Camo Master Chief (a figure Joyride didn't sell; they gave it away as a promotion) came in a plain cardboard box, rather than the standard packaging for Joyride toys. It took him about an hour to rectify the situation (125K) without destroying the original packaging... now that Active Camo cheif can sit on his shelf with the rest of the boxed toys, and not look out of place.
