NGA prepares for Boston Strong
The National Grifball Association is going to be running a charity stream on May 4-5 to raise money for The One Fund Boston, a charity set up to help victims of the tragedy at this year's Boston Marathon. It's marathon-themed (26.2 hours of broadcasts, for example), and looks to be a lot of fun! Halo Bulletin 4.17.13
Yes, it's a day late - can't you give a guy a break? Anyway, this week's Halo bulletin is filled to the brim Halo news - there's plenty of juicy info detailing weapon tuning, a recap of AGL Nashville, info on next week's matchmaking update as well as a look at Strongside's UNSC-themed Ford Raptor (lucky!) Halo Theme on eight floppy drives
Sometimes, cool stuff makes it to us way late. MrSolidSnake745 creates music by feeding MIDI tracks to an Arduino controller that manages the stepper motors of 8 floppy drives. (Are you old enough to remember what a floppy drive is?) If this concept makes no sense to you... go watch the video. (It was released in August, but we didn't hear about it until Tashi mentioned it at NeoGAF.) The beginning is pretty wild, but the true wonder kicks in around 40 seconds in.

Frozen Sleep - A Halo 4/Cortana Tribute Song
Malukah is a composer and singer from Mexico - she's covered a number of video game songs, but her most recent one is her first Halo-related release. It is simply spectacular. 'Frozen Sleep' is a tribute to Cortana - it combines existing Halo themes, some incredible instrument playing, and a vocal track that needs to be heard to be believed. Go listen. More than once. Halo Bulletin - contests, updates, artwork
The Halo Bulletin went live this morning on Halo Waypoint (and of course in our Halo Bulletin Archive, for those who need a leaner version) - it contains information about a number of subjects. There's a new contest called the Infinity Challenge - you've got a chance to win a Halo-themed pickup, an appearance in the next Halo, and more. Spartan Ops will be taking a break, until late January - you can still play existing Episodes, but the last five from Season 1 won't be showing up for at least six weeks. There's a Matchmaking update coming on Monday - King of the Hill is out (the loss is temporary, but we don't know when it'll be back), Crimson Map Pack list is in. (The Crimson maps will show up in other lists as well, heavily weighted, if everyone in your match has them.) If you missed any of IGN's Crimson Map Pack walkthroughs or videos released recently, they're embedded here. And finally, there's some beautiful Halo 4 concept art from John Wallin Liberto. I'm Tankful for the Scorpion
We've got a few items to keep you busy throughout the day, but for the most part, we're taking the time to spend with our loved ones, and certainly hope all of you - no matter where you are - can do the same.
- The Halo Bulletin went live last night, and features some hilarious community Thanksgiving-themed photosphops, a feature on the amazing concept artist we all know as "Sparth", and a really great dev interview with the Spartan Ops team. Don't miss it! (It's local, too.)
- Woaf let us know that they now have a brand new episode out for the Dust & Echoes podcast. Check out their fabulous Halo 4 campaign spoilercast! Always a great listen.
- Speaking of podcasts, CruelLEGACEY and yours truly have brought back the Waypoint Modcast, after a bit of a hiatus. Joining us for Episode 31 was Das Kalk and Goosechecka, and we ramble on about all sorts of stuff Halo 4. Tons of fun was had and much editing was needed. Go listen!
- Morpheus let us know about a short feature run by IGN discussing a "What if?" scenario regarding other famous franchises appearing on the newly-released Nintendo WiiU. Go see what they had to say
