April 1, 2007 Link to this post Halo Movie Details Emerge Filmspot has info about the resurrection of the Halo movie - new details include Lions Gate as the new studio, Steve Downes confirmed as the Master Chief. More in the article. Thanks, BlueNinja. (Louis Wu 19:21:07 UTC)
March 25, 2007 Link to this post Early Mourn Veegie and HawaiianPig have teamed up again - their latest piece of artwork is a scene that could be out of the level Halo. A poignant look at the human side of the Master Chief. It was announced by HP in a forum post, and you can also find it on Veegie's gallery page here. Great work! (Louis Wu 17:43:20 UTC)
March 23, 2007 Link to this post Spartan Dew? That sounds... rank. Wow. The marketing blitz has begun. Kotaku has a story about Master Chief-branded Mountain Dew. (They're calling it 'Halo 3 Game Fuel'. I suppose that's better than 'Cyborg Sweat', which is the vibe I get from 'Spartan Dew'...) Thanks, Neo-genesis. (Louis Wu 23:45:22 UTC)
March 23, 2007 Link to this post I bet people ask what it is. LazarusCayde stopped by to show off a new Master Chief tattoo - check it out! (Louis Wu 17:13:46 UTC)

February 28, 2007 Link to this post Listening to the Lightbulb and the Chief Game Informer Online has released a podcast with Tim Dadabo (343 Guilty Spark) and Steve Downes (Master Chief) - an interesting interview about how the whole voice-acting thing works. It's a fascinating half-hour discussion with two guys who are pretty close to the development process (though both of them deny knowing any inside info). Go listen! Thanks, Spec_Ops_Assault. February 25, 2007 Link to this post Hollywood Arts Auction Update Two of the three cool Bungie-related auctions benefitting Hollywood Arts ended yesterday - and longtime community member Kornman is taking home the life-sized Master Chief statue and the tour of Bungie Studios. Ding to his wallet: $2700. Nice haul for underprivileged children! The Halo Signed Swag Pack went for $610 - sounds like an awesome price for such a goodie-filled collection! The audio cameo in Halo 3 still has a day left to run, with a bid of $5000 (but don't expect it to stay there) - overall, this series of auctions is bringing in some serious cash for a great cause! (Louis Wu 12:59:25 UTC)
February 23, 2007 Link to this post Master Chiefs of the Night Pezcore stopped by yesterday to point out a new blog post, in which he worries that the commercialization of the Halo franchise is a bad thing. Do you agree? (Opinion, at least on our forum, is divided so far.) (Louis Wu 16:16:00 UTC)
February 19, 2007 Link to this post Hollywood Arts Auctions We previously mentioned the Hollywood Arts First Annual Dream Awards, where they're honoring Tommy Tallarico (one of the guys behind the Video Games Live concerts) and, more topically, where they're auctioning off some cool Halo-related stuff. Curtis Edmond sends word that the auctions are live now: the Signed Halo Swag Pack, the Tour of Bungie Studios and Full Size Master Chief Statue, and the Audio Cameo in Halo 3. Interestingly, Curtis noted that the wording for the audio cameo claims that, "Voiceover will be recorded at Blindlight Studios in Hollywood, CA before May 15, 2007 or this package will have to redeemed for Halo 4." Halo 4?!? Intriguing! Update: Frankie notes that the Halo 4 comment was probably a bad joke. Ah, well. Double Update!: It seems that the audio cameo item has been pulled for now. I'm assuming it'll be back again at some point with different ad copy. Triple Update!: Yep, all fixed now. (mnemesis 16:21:34 UTC)
February 14, 2007 Link to this post Gears of War VS Halo Psychophan7 noticed a flash vid starring Master Chief and Marcus Fenix, from Gears of War, over at Newgrounds. It's a sitcom. Sort of. (Louis Wu 14:28:03 UTC)

February 10, 2007 Link to this post More info about Kotobukiya Halo Figures Laird found some information about the upcoming Kotobukiya figures (we mentioned them last week) - according to Figures.com, they'll run $100 each (about standard for Kotobukiya figures), the first will be a Halo 3 Master Chief released late this summer, and they will NOT require assembly. More when we know it! (Louis Wu 15:43:29 UTC)
February 10, 2007 Link to this post Master Chief Tattoo Clint sent us a photo of his Master Chief tattoo that he's had on his forearm for a couple of years - nice work! (There's a truly humongous version, as well - 2304x3072, 707 kb - for those who want the closeup.)

February 7, 2007 Link to this post Awesome Halo Goodies for Auction Next Week Over at Team Xbox, there's a press release about the First Annual Dream Awards, a production of Hollywood Arts, a non-profit that reaches at-risk teens through the arts. This year, they're honoring Tommy Tallarico, the man behind Video Games Live - and the awards ceremony will be a fundraiser for the organization. They'll be auctioning off all sorts of goodies (this is the auction home link, though nothing's posted yet - the auction goes live on February 17) - including an audio cameo in Halo 3 (!!), a Master Chief statue, and a tour of the Bungie Studios. (Lots of other stuff too - but that's the Halo schwag.) The auction kicks off at 7 pm PST on the 17th, and ends on the 24th - keep your eye on that page! Google News was first with this heads-up, but Spec_Ops_Assault wasn't far behind. (Louis Wu 13:20:48 UTC)
January 31, 2007 Link to this post New Shirts at the Bungie Store Jonathan Rivas noticed three new shirts at the Bungie store - a long-sleeve I heart Cortana Tee, a short-sleeved I heart Master Chief Ringer Tee, and a Twofer long-sleeved Mongoose Tee. Get to buying! (Louis Wu 23:23:30 UTC)
January 29, 2007 Link to this post MC in Paint Wow - sorahn noticed a YouTube vid showing someone recreating the Master Chief in MS Paint. There's something amazing about being able to create artwork that looks this good with a tool like Paint... (I could do without the soundtrack, though.) Update: here's the second part of the drawing. Thanks, newDeviLedeT1. (Louis Wu 18:43:35 UTC)
January 20, 2007 Link to this post Say Again? Mister Froggy pointed out that Halo, Articulated #6 is now online - Julie Benz talked to reporters about the Miranda Keyes character last summer, and the Master Chief has now gotten a chance to toss in his two cents. (Louis Wu 13:46:13 UTC)
January 18, 2007 Link to this post Halo 3 Schwag at HotTopic Foxcross noticed three new Halo 3-related items at HotTopic; there's a beanie, a messenger bag, and a pretty slick Master Chief T. Nice! (Louis Wu 12:26:51 UTC)

January 12, 2007 Link to this post Jungle Trigonometry 3 sodaGod has added another video to his Jungle Trigonometry series - Jungle Trigonometry 3. Couple his fantastic camera work with funny skits, and you get a vid absolutely worth downloading. This one has a number of 'Master Chief is Kind of a Jerk' segments... and a fantastic longer parody of zombie movies. There's plenty of other stuff, too. All in all, it's almost 13 minutes long, and weighs in at over 100 mb. You can grab it at GamingTV.org, or snag one of our mirrors (WMP9 is 108 mb, QuickTime is 114 mb). Swinging by the Machine Enema website points out another pair of links for the WMP9 version. (I'm pretty sure that right now, ours is the only QuickTime version available, though GTV should have a copy up soon.) For those who say that Halo machinima is dying - sodaGod should be a clear example that you're totally and utterly wrong. The man makes fantastic vids. (Thanks to trigger119 for the heads-up on this one.)
