November 1, 2007 Link to this post Guilt O' Lantern - Submissions Closed Late last night, the Guilt O' Lantern submissions window closed; in the next day or three, we'll be posting all valid entries online for your perusal and voting enjoyment. You'll have a week to pick your favorites... and the winners will get some pretty nice schwag bags. I realize this is a bit late to entice new folks to submit - but I just heard this morning that the 343 Guilty Spark recording for the answering service/voicemail will include the option of Steve Downes, the voice of the Master Chief, as well; you get 'em both! As soon as the pics are organized, we'll put up the voting page.

October 30, 2007 Link to this post Custom action figure - with a twist Hawty "I'll get back on top of the eBay pile, you know I will" McBloggy found a guy selling a custom Spartan action figure on eBay. What makes this one unique? Well, it's a model of "'MASTER CHIEF' from the hit PlayStation 3 game 'HALO'" (the seller's words, not Hawty's). Beyond that silliness, though, it's actually a pretty cool piece - the base has a dead marine and a brute (both custom), and it comes with a bunch of swappable guns. You've got until November 2 - go look!

Log.TV has a new program called News Log, and a couple of weeks ago, they interviewed Master Chief. Well, sort of. I'm not sure if his mic was broken, or what... but the guy redefined the word 'stonefaced'. Go watch! (Louis Wu 19:06:11 UTC)

October 19, 2007 Link to this post Halo 3: the stats are huge.
The September hardware and software numbers are out, as expected... and Halo 3 (and the Xbox 360) had a pretty amazing month. Visit this page at Video Game Chartz for a comparison between two of the bigger names in industry stats. Bottom line - as of a couple of weeks ago, Halo 3 had sold somewhere between 3 and 3.5 million copies in the US and Canada alone. That's a LOT of Master Chiefs. (The same region picked up more than half a million Xbox 360s, beating analyst predictions by a healthy margin.) (Louis Wu 09:40:21 UTC)

October 14, 2007 Link to this post The road to Voi
Heh - DigitalPh33r (the guy behind the 'Master Chief sucks at Halo' series) posted a vid called 'Road to Voi', looking at the Master Chief and the Arbiter's journey to save Earth. Language definitely needs a rating, but it's pretty funny! You can watch it at Machimima.com, where it was originally posted, or YouTube, where it has a bigger audience. Thanks, Angelo Ferrara. October 12, 2007 Link to this post eBay - your one-stop Halo shop
Over at Xbox360Fanboy, they found ANOTHER set of Master Chief armor for sale on eBay - this one is being sold by Devastator, and the armor itself (including upgrades) has shown up a few times in our news. Current bid is a bit over $2000, with 9 days to go in the auction. (He mentions a bunch of other stuff he's auctioning off that you might be interested in - but for the moment, the only auction online is for a Brute figure that came from the Believe Diorama - super cool and super rare!) October 9, 2007 Link to this post Gravesite - now posted
A lot of people (starting with diabeatu) also told us that the last Believe video is finally up at halo3.com; to get to it, you need to do a virtual flythrough of the diorama. It shows up right after the Master Chief. It's called 'Gravesite', and it discusses the death of the Master Chief. Remember: the folks who made the Believe series did NOT have access to the Halo 3 storyline; the reality they created is NOT the same as the game's reality. The MC's 'death' in this series has no bearing on whether he lives or dies in the game. (Louis Wu 11:46:28 UTC)
October 6, 2007 Link to this post Halo 3 meets V8 Supercars PROPH37 sent us some interesting info about Australian racecar driver Rick Kelly, who will be wearing (or wore, I guess; the race happened this weekend) a Master Chief helmet in the Bathurst 1000, a V8 Supercar race. You can actually WIN this helmet, by answering some trivia questions (if you're an Australian/NZ resident). Go check it out! (Louis Wu 18:51:47 UTC)

October 4, 2007 Link to this post Art meets commerce Hawty McBloggy has been busy; she's got an interview with Pavel Dolgov, who does a lot of Halo-related art (check our news for links), plus a couple of fun eBay items - a foam sheeting Master Chief costume, and a Master Chief sculpture made from real engine parts. Whee! (Louis Wu 18:20:49 UTC)

September 29, 2007 Link to this post A Throne Fit for the Chief Halo fans have done a lot of creative art work, from armor and weapon recreations to more traditional art. Last night bs angel sent word of a rather unusual piece on eBay right now - a Master Chief-engraved toilet seat. Bidding ends about 36 hours from this post, with a current bid of $20. The artwork is quite remarkable - just remember to leave the seat down to appreciate it. (GhaleonEB 16:36:32 UTC)
