Master Chief and Grunts, in Silver, on eBay
The first of the Weta 1-of-a-kind silver statues (we discussed 'em here, with high-res versions of the silver images here) went on sale on eBay late last night - you've still got nine and a half days to decide what it's worth to you, but the Master Chief and Grunts statue is already up to $1000. Steve Downes to appear at Arlington Racetrack
Over at NeoGAF, Chamellion posted what looks like a press release for an event at the Arlington Park Racetrack near Chicago. (I hunted around, but couldn't find the original.) This Sunday, July 27, Steve Downes (voice of the Master Chief) will be on hand to sign autographs and any Halo merchandise you bring him, and folks will have a chance to win a new Xbox 360. McFarlane Halo Points Explained
Ever since McFarlane began releasing action figures, folks have noticed 'Halo Points' on the packaging material - but nobody knew what they were for. The information has finally been released on the Spawn.com website - and it actually looks pretty cool! You can upgrade your action figures - with a Hayabusa katana, with Recon armor (!!), and you can get exclusive schwag like a lithograph or a Gold Master Chief by redeeming your points. Halo 3 Recut - Winners Announced
Back in January, a European contest sponsored by Xbox.com started up - Halo 3 Recut was looking for short movies showing the off-screen antics of the Halo characters. Winners were just announced (thanks, Planet Halo, who found the announcement at TeamXbox) - congrats to Scott Robertson, whose "Master Chief's Day Off" won Scott a four-week film-making trip to Los Angeles. Halo costumes - coming soon
Costume City is selling Rubie's Master Chief costumes - the Collector's model is listed as in stock, shipping now. (The two cheaper models are 'coming soon'.) These are the same costumes we mentioned back in February; that site is listing a July 31 ship date for these items. With the exception of the high-end model, these are definitely the cheapest way to get into a Master Chief outfit you don't make yourself this year! Thanks, Parabus.

Funko to sell Halo Bobbleheads
Hawty McBloggy found an auction on eBay for a Master Chief bobblehead... but a little digging around showed that Funko is releasing these puppies in the next month or two, and their street price is considerably lower than that eBay Buy it Now price. If you want one of these, preorder from a legitimate outlet, or wait until July/August (depending on the variant) to buy them. The three spartans (silver, red, blue) can be grabbed at the San Diego Comic Con - the green Master Chief will be available a couple of weeks later. (Louis Wu 12:47:17 UTC)

Okay, this is just silly. Hawty McBloggy found an auction on eBay where someone's selling a donut hole that looks like a Master Chief helmet. Well... it's SUPPOSED to look like a Master Chief helmet. (I don't see it, myself. Looks like a Dunkin Munchkin. Munchkins cost about a quarter each. Remember that when you realize that starting bid on this puppy is $25 with shipping.)
