Someone should get that man a website
Hitmonchan continues to scour the internet for interesting Halo content - there's no way I'm gonna complain, because he's making my job quite a bit easier. Here's a roundup of the goodies he found last night:
- Someone whipped up a Noble Team logo in Minecraft. Nicely done!
- If you didn't make it to MLG Dallas, there's a nice collection of photos on Flickr. (If you're just interested in the ones tagged Reach, those are here.)
- Halo Waypoint denizen Noble29 played Ashes, from Halo: Reach's official soundtrack, on piano. Wow. Really great.
- Two new vids from the MachinimaRespawn crew - The Dead Pixel saves the day for a frustrated Firefighter, and Mr Sark helps out when Campaign partners are hard to find. Funny stuff.
- IGN's posted their Top 10 Kills for 04.07.11 - Angry Hogs made me laugh. So did Windshield Wiper. (Hitmonchan doesn't like IGN's video player, so he linked to the DailyMotion mirror.)
- Away From Keyboard has written up an article explaining why Halo: Reach is the worst multiplayer experience in the series. I didn't get that far into it; his #1 complaint was present in Halo 2 and Halo 3, as well, and his #2 complaint says RIGHT IN THE DESCRIPTION that Reach is actually better than Halo 3. But if you're unhappy with Reach, go read this and commiserate.
- A video game company in Franklin, TN (just south of Nashville) is hosting a 1-day video game convention tomorrow - and there'll be a 4v4 Reach tourney to play in.

Signage Update
Stephen Loftus continues to document the signage of the Halo universe - his Halo Signs collection grew by 16 this morning. I'm working on a solution for finding new content - but check the end of the Civilian, Covenant, and UNSC sections for the latest goodies! (The Jiralhanae logo is really cool!)

Um... doesn't it have a top speed of 50mph?
Heh - fun. Apparently, a Forza 4 internal video leaked yesterday (it's in a lot of places - here's one), and about 1:10 into the video, logos of car companies whose products are in the game are shown in rapid succession. Included in this series is Asklon - the company behind Halo's Warthog. (They've made other vehicles, which is good - since the Warthog is not built for speed.) Birth of a Spartan
StUnNeR H2K bought a solid black outfit from Baby Gap, and had a family member embroider the UNSC logo and a name/number tag on it. (The number tag is actually a date of birth.) It's time to bake that... oh, never mind
There's something about a game launch that makes people bake. Hawty McBloggy has a piece today showing off a gorgeous confection based on the Reach Legendary box, and Chris Stoos told us that when he arrived home from a weekend away, his wife had this masterpiece waiting for him. CAA Desktop

Bungie Aerospace Sighting - in the wild

Bungie... Aerospace?
Not sure what this is all about - but Attack of the Fanboy noticed a new trademark by Bungie, for 'Bungie Aerospace' (no, they're not getting into the ship-building field; the registration itself mentions computer game software and hardware). Nice logo! What does it mean? Your guess is as good as ours! I found this at Rampancy.net, where Narc also included a link to a Blast story (which, in turn, has a link to an IGN story - the news is all the same, but the comments might be interesting.) There's also a thread on our own forum, if you want to join the conversation. And just to REALLY get the noodles revving, DeathBringer669, over at Bungie.net, also noticed that the MARATHON LOGO is the subject of a brand-new trademark, as well. (Thanks, Hedgemony.) Craig Mullins and Halo
Wow - we totally missed this when it first came out a week and a half ago, but the Halo Waypoint team interviewed Craig Mullins - bungie.org has a soft spot in its heart for this amazing artist (we started work on a gallery for his Marathon art a long, long time ago, and we owe him for our logo). Reach concept art leak is a hoax
We got word from the Russian Halo Community that at least SOME of the concept art that appeared yesterday (purportedly for Reach) was actually done by Robert Brown, an artist in California, and was seen by a member of halouniverse.ru more than half a year ago. It's not Bungie-related, it's not even Halo-related - it's just concept art with a slapped-on logo.

Reach concept art... or a hoax?
Over at NeoGAF, Kibbles pointed out some images he found on Bungie.net (the original thread is still up) - they purport to be concept art from Reach. I rather doubt they're real (the logo placement/opacity are not really Bungie's style any more, many viewers have pointed out that they look a lot like ODST concept art), but they're out there; you're welcome to discuss them.
