BOLTAR94 stopped in with word of another no-dialogue French-made machinima - this one's called 'Bad World'. Lots of nice effects... though I'm not sure I understood what was going on. Certainly a nice watch, in any case! Much more info (along with multiple options for viewing) can be found in his post.

September 22, 2009 Link to this post Tuesday Movie Mania Stuff for you this afternoon, from Bungie's Comm Chatter:
- Warthog Memoirs is a four and a half minute machinima from CMNeir and friends - a couple of guys in matchmaking remember better times with their friend the warthog (I think it needs a voice).
- Physics Evolved: Episode 1 shows off some of the crazy stuff you can do with Halo's physics engine. If you can dream it... you can build it.
- Halo 3: ODST OST Rap is an ode to the wonder that is ODST's soundtrack. I'm not a huge rap fan, but this is fantastic.
Go watch! (Louis Wu 18:38:22 UTC)
September 18, 2009 Link to this post Agent 404, Episode 1
Uman pointed us to a thread on Bungie.net's forum in which he's announced Agent 404, Episode 1, a 22 minute Halo 3 machinima filmed in HD and available for download (it's 1.2 GB!) or stream (same file). It has both a French and an English soundtrack, though after watching the first 10 minutes of the English version, I have to say I have no clue at all what this is about. If you've got a massive connection, grab a copy and check it for yourself. (Louis Wu 15:42:29 UTC)

If you live in Aukland, NZ, 'RVB' might not evoke a Halo-based machinima series first and foremost in your mind - it might make you think of beer. There's a bar called 'Red vs Blue', and they'll be hosting a Halo 3: ODST Launch Party on September 21. If you're in Aukland - get down there! (Louis Wu 16:39:57 UTC)

August 28, 2009 Link to this post An old friend surfaces
Some old-timers might remember Pico - he was an early maker of machinima, notably the Lethal Rage series in 2003/2004. He stopped in this morning to point out an interview by the folks at machinima.fr - the english version is here, the french version here. It's a fun read! (Some good advice from it, to folks making machinima now: "Make a movie you want to see." Sounds like Pico and Bungie have similar philosophies!)

CROSSFIRE stopped in with word of a new season of Dimension X, the machinima series from Blood Signature Films. (I'd never seen these before - but apparently the first season was almost 5 years ago.) The cinematography on this new material is quite good, and the story is intriguing. The three parts of Episode 1 are hefty downloads (700 mb for the lot), but you can stream them if the downloads are too much. (Louis Wu 12:06:23 UTC)
July 21, 2009 Link to this post One Life Remaining: Season 1 Episode 1 JonCGJ released a trailer for a new machinima series a couple of weeks ago - but we didn't hear about it until this morning, when urk posted a link to the first episode of the series on Bungie.net. Anthony Heitzmann graduates high school... I guess teenage angst isn't one of of the things that gets solved between now and the 26th century. (Louis Wu 16:32:17 UTC)
July 19, 2009 Link to this post This Spartan Life Episode 6
It's been a long time since we've heard from Chris Burke, and the machinima series 'This Spartan Life' - but Episode 6 has been released, in advance of the completion of Episode 5. (Sometimes these things happen.) The guest is Katie Salen, who works on game design (you can read more about her here), and the interview, interspersed with TSL's normal wackiness, is pretty interesting. It's 14 minutes long - swing by and watch! (QuickTime version is up now, WMV should be available in short order.) Chris is still working on finishing up Episode 5 - he's run into some snags with Microsoft licensing. Here's hoping they get worked out soon!

July 17, 2009 Link to this post The Chronicles of Lyle: The Official Promo
A lot of people make Halo machinima - most of it is either really serious, or pretty juvenile. The Chronicles of Lyle is neither. (Well, okay - it's a bit juvenile. But it's pretty funny anyway.) Check out the promo on YouTube. Then thank urk for finding it (in between donuts). (Louis Wu 16:55:00 UTC)

July 13, 2009 Link to this post Change of Scenery Pierre Tartaix pointed us to Change of Scenery, a new machinima created by TGO GMBH. I have absolutely no idea what happened during this film... but the cinematography was great, the music was great, and the dialogue was at times very funny. Be aware that while the voice actors are predominately English-speaking, the group making the video is French. Two pouces up. (Louis Wu 17:35:43 UTC)
