Halo Community Update 08/12/16 - 'The Calm Before the GAMESCOM' and No Canon Fodder :(
It's a short update this week, mostly built on promises and the mention of an 'Action Sack' playlist coming soon, but you can read up on the Halo Wars 2 beta realizations and read up on the Mythic Loot Crate. The Halo Machinima Archive Is Growing It's Old School Video Collection
ukilledkenny7 sent us an email with a YouTube channel he started called the Halo Machinima Archive. It's a YouTube channel dedicated to archiving machinimas from the Halo 2 era. He's already uploaded 415 videos to the channel; and the archive has a total of 672 videos total through both uploads and playlists.
The channel features machinimas from more than 40 clans/groups; including HollywoodHalo, Jamie98s, Sodagod, HaloUnion and much more. He said he put it together by heavily using much of our old Halo news archive, so check it out if you'd like to rewatch some old school fan videos! (MacGyver10 22:12:05 UTC)

imSuck's 'HMV Hell 5' Is Machinima You Need to Watch
SNIPE 316 shared one of the best/weirdest machinima pieces I've seen in a long time. It's also been a LONG TIME since we've had an HMV Hell! imSuck has put together HMV Hell 5 that jumps from music video to music video like changing channels on an old TV! Halo Community Update - 12/18/2015 ('A Fond Farewell')
At the end of the release week for Forge last Friday, 343 put out another Community Update recapping the release of 'The Cartographer's Gift'. They kind of reiterate some of the map talk we've heard, but do explain the machinima controls a bit better and lay out some great Forge tips from its creators. New Machinima, 'Halo: Believers' Trailer (Updated)
IESUProductions stopped by our forum with news of a trailer for their new Halo machinima, 'Halo: Believers'. According to the YouTube description, the crew of the UNSC Infinity rescue a team of mysterious Spartans known as "Black Team" from a derelict vessel in deep space, whose covert and bloody mission will change their lives, and their entire universe, forever. Go give the trailer a look to get a feel for the mood of their new series. Selfies in the War Zone Episode 2
Longtime visitors will remember This Spartan Life, a groundbreaking series that used Halo machinima as a backdrop to fascinating interviews with real-world guests. They're back with a second episode of their newest series, 'Selfies in the War Zone' - and the guest this time out is Pete Cooper, superfan whose biggest claim to fame is a full-size Warthog he built for a live action Halo video. He talks about Telekos Protocol and Drone, two graphic novel series he's been building for a few years. It's a great discussion, and Damian Lacedamian shows that the format still works wonderfully! Halo: Halos in Space - the Garry's Mod Version
Back in 2007, a piece of Halo fan fiction was released into the wild, and immediately turned into machinima fodder (sadly, the SnowGlobePro version is lost to time), not once but twice. A sad time for the Halo machinima community
Followers of Red vs Blue might recognize the name of Monty Oum, the animator behind some of their recent seasons. He's had a medical emergency (details are vague, at the request of family), and it looks pretty serious. (He's hospitalized in critical care, and it is unknown whether he will recover.) You can read Burnie's post on the subject at the Rooster Teeth website, and you can contribute to his medical expenses on this GoFundMe page. We're pulling for you, Monty! Update: On Sunday, February 1, 2015, Monty passed away. A truly sad day.

Into the Void
Eep - missed one! Prime999r stopped by with word of 'Into the void', a machinima/film project you can watch on YouTube. There's no dialogue - but you don't really need any. Training Daze

Red vs Blue - the Catch-up Edition
Another thing we've totally missed these past couple of weeks is the continuation of Red vs Blue Season 12. This series has evolved quite a bit; storytelling, music, and the combination of machinima and CGI are all quite sophisticated at this point. Caboose still makes me laugh, but some of the new characters are really interesting, and the plot is compelling. If you haven't been following, Episode 2 (Hit and Run) went live on May 5, and Episode 3 (Something Else Entirely) hit the web on May 12. Go catch up - the next installment launches on Monday! titled '2154'. The film is entirely in French, so you might need to turn subtitles on, unfortunately YouTube's subtitles aren't very good. Visually, the film is very impressive.
