From Ibie'shan to Vulture evolution
This week's Halo Bulletin is something of a departure - Bravo's off, so GrimBrother One has jumped in to answer some long-standing fan questions about the Halo canon. Fascinating stuff! (There's also a tidbit about Halo Escalation #10, and some fun DMR screenshots.) As always, there's a local copy in our Halo Bulletin Archive. (Louis Wu 18:57:55 UTC)

Ambivalent Cartographer
FyreWulff stopped in to announce a new challenge on Fire Team Zulu - can you complete Silent Cartographer and kill ONLY Elites at the highest tier? Heh. Sounds like fun! (There's a bonus challenge, posted today - can you get a ghost from the bridge at the start of Metropolis to the top of the Scarab at the end?) (Louis Wu 22:36:35 UTC)

Of Chiefs and Brides
We neglected to mention it when it came out on Wednesday (I was on a plane at the time), but this week's Halo Bulletin contains some great MCC stuff for you - screenshots, videos, descriptions, you name it. There's also a heartwarming tale of love and betrothal, a look at the Walk For Wishes (something a chunk of the studio participated in), and some high-flying screenshots. As always, you can read it at Halo Waypoint, or right here in our Halo Bulletin Archive. Thanks, CrisTheeCrappy. (Louis Wu 12:01:41 UTC)

A Wild Week, Wrapped Up
Did you miss this week's Halo Bulletin? (It wasn't posted until Friday night, so maybe it got by you.) There's a recap of PAX, and all the Halo goodness that was found there, as well as a summary of what's coming in Halo 2 Anniversary Forge Mode. (There are some cool screenshots, too.) Read it at Halo Waypoint, or here in our Halo Bulletin Archive. (Louis Wu 01:47:13 UTC)

It's all about the Dance
Oh, my goodness - we did it again! This has been a crazy week; here's hoping it's unique. Catch-up time: let's start with a really fantastic article which delineates just what's so cool about Silent Cartographer, and how that applies to the rest of Halo. Andre Dunn was the first to tell us about it, and Kermit kicked off a forum thread which spawned a few great comments. Go read! (Louis Wu 01:33:14 UTC)

Read it on Halo Waypoint, or read it here. (Don't miss the film of some 343 employees rising to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge... pretty awesome!) (Louis Wu 15:13:36 UTC)

The Old, The New, and the Remade
Last week, 343 released new pictures of Zanzibar, one of the Halo 2 maps getting a complete makeover for the Master Chief Collection. (All of the maps in Halo 2 are getting made over for Anniversary - but 6 of them have been 'reimagined' by Certain Affinity, and Zanzibar is one of these.) John Brent grabbed screenshots from Halo 2 (and even Halo 3's remake of this map, Last Resort) that matched the positioning of the new screens for the H2A Zanzibar, and sent them along to us for easy comparison. Jump in and see how they line up! (Louis Wu 19:02:17 UTC)

A Very Late Halo Bulletin Update
Last week, the Halo Bulletin was a little late (it showed up Thursday, instead of Wednesday). That's no excuse for us to be nearly a WEEK late, though... so we're sorry. Go give it a read; it's chock-full of RTX goodness, playlist updates, a Mega Bloks contest, and cool weapon skin screenshots. Read it here, if you'd rather - but read it. (Louis Wu 21:08:59 UTC)

Loading Screen Easter Egg from Halo 3
Lord Zedd found a new easter egg in Halo 3 - he found it in the code, but it's repeatable by anyone who wants to try it. (I just did.) If you load up Halo 3 when your Xbox is set to December 25 (you'll have to be disconnected from Xbox Live if you don't want to wait 6 months), start up a new campaign mission, and then hold in both thumbsticks, you'll see the building of the Halo ring from a further viewpoint. (You can jump back and forth during the loading, and the zoom will track you.) There might even be more to this - but I'm not positive. The first time I tried this, the loading took a while... and it SEEMED I could read some text on the outside of the Halo as it built itself. (I didn't notice this until it was almost finished.) Repeated attempts were unsuccessful, because the loading time was much shorter after the first one, and any text that was created was blurred by the creation process. (It's even possible I was imagining things.) Either way, cool find, and amazing it remained a mystery for 7 years! Thanks, gamerguy2002. Update: Lord Zedd took the info above and loaded the animation from disc (as I did, that first run-through), which slowed it down enough to read the "Happy Birthday, Lauren!" written on the outside of the Halo. That's the REAL Easter Egg! Very cool. (Louis Wu 18:23:55 UTC)

Halo Scale Comparison - Now Updated with Halo 4 Objects
Back in 2005, Stephen Loftus created a Scale Comparison in Halo article - showing you how various structures and vehicles and characters fit together, size-wise. Over the years, he's improved this project, adding new items from later games and slotting them into the existing structure. He's done this again, and it's a HUGE advance; at the time of the last update (January 2013), there were 27 pages of images. Now there are almost 50. Swing by and dive in - it's fascinating! (If you've explored the collection before, you'll want to scroll down to the bottom of the main page - click on the Ark to get started on the cascading scale pages. That's where all the goodies are hiding.) (Louis Wu 21:46:05 UTC)

Oops, I did it again!
You never thought you'd have to be reminded of Britney Spears again, did you? Hah. Another Wednesday came and went without our acknowledgement of the Halo Bulletin - I blame the flood we had yesterday (don't you love it when plumbing goes bad?), but really I have no excuse. You should go read it - it contains info on the newest Halo: Escalation issue, the Minecraft Halo mashup we mentioned last week, Beyond Entertainment's Forge Idol tournament, a super-cool Mammoth from pete_the_duck, and some awesome KotH screenshots. (You can read it in our Halo Bulletin Archive, if you don't want your IP address showing up two days late in Waypoint's logs.) (Louis Wu 16:37:35 UTC)
