October 2, 2007 Link to this post Believe in Red Bull Today's Dork Tower comic is about Halo 3. Given the way Bungie's online stats have been trending, there might be some folks out there acting this out. Thanks, RIPFrodo. (GhaleonEB 04:07:27 UTC)

Action Trip has posted another Halo-related comic; sometimes, folks want a piece of you just because you're on top. (Other times, they have better reasons.) (Louis Wu 13:53:30 UTC)

September 28, 2007 Link to this post Section 3
Last Friday's Bungie Weekly Update contained a section called 'Sketch's Build-Your-Own-Halo-Comic' - it showed off a series of screenshots, with some basic Photoshop filters applied, and suggested that they could easily be turned into a comic. Apparently, V10L3N7 JAY and friends did exactly that - Section 3 is a comic composed of screenshots taken in Halo 3, filtered, with a storyline added. In fact, the very first comic is simply Sketch's artwork, with titles and sound effects added. There are three episodes now (the third was announced by V10L3N7 JAY last night). Go look! September 26, 2007 Link to this post Launch Writeups
Wow. So I was going through mail that came to email addresses other than halo@bungie.org, thinking that I'd make a summary of all the news that hadn't gotten posted in the last couple of days before I STARTED posting - but the list is so enormous that I'll never get through it unless I just start. So - I'll do my best to combine like items, but beware the news flood! First up, some release night shenanigans around the country (and the world): I think we should probably call it a day after those; I'm sure there are HUNDREDS of writeups of local launch things (there were, after all, over 10,000 stores in the US, 1,000 stores in the UK, and uncounted numbers in other countries all open for this event), but we'll say this is representative.

Haloplayer let us know that Countdown Comic #5 is now up at Injured Knee Productions. I think Microsoft might have found a new superhero. (While you're there, there's also a link to a Guitar Hero Spartan he created, in that same post.) (Louis Wu 21:49:46 UTC)

Today's Countdown to Halo 3 activity over at Hawty McBloggy involves making comics with your action figures. It scares me a little that she's actually SUGGESTING poop jokes. See if you can offer up some cleaner funnies. (Louis Wu 13:33:29 UTC)

Pinflux entered a contest we mentioned a few weeks ago - write a gameplay story in 100 words or less for a shot at a 360. He didn't win - but his entry is pretty cool nonetheless. (Since a picture is worth a thousand words, he probably lost on technicalities.) (Louis Wu 11:10:11 UTC)

I'm not really fully awake yet - but I'm posting this now, because the amount of mail coming in about it is rather insane. Today's Ctrl+Alt+Del looks at the Halo 3 marketing juggernaut... and definitely goes into waters Microsoft has chosen not to tread in.
