It's comic mania around the net
Lots of Halo-themed or -related comics out there right now:
- Today's VGCats is Halo-themed - and potentially spoileriffic (thanks, Psychophan7 and others)
- Elnea summarized the last 800 episodes of HAFT
- V10L3N7 JAY pointed out that Section 3 Episode 4 is up
- Slith, among others, pointed out a recent ep of GOD MODE (ads might be nsfw)
There are probably others, but that clears SOME of the incoming queue. Update: icefire2288 pointed out a new episode of Inner Geek, too. Update 2: Quikthnkr pointed out Geek Tragedy Squared #11 (with an explanation here - September 26 entry). (Louis Wu 13:12:17 UTC)

Section 3
Last Friday's Bungie Weekly Update contained a section called 'Sketch's Build-Your-Own-Halo-Comic' - it showed off a series of screenshots, with some basic Photoshop filters applied, and suggested that they could easily be turned into a comic. Apparently, V10L3N7 JAY and friends did exactly that - Section 3 is a comic composed of screenshots taken in Halo 3, filtered, with a storyline added. In fact, the very first comic is simply Sketch's artwork, with titles and sound effects added. There are three episodes now (the third was announced by V10L3N7 JAY last night). Go look! Comic roundup for Wednesday:
- LostRock11 noticed that SORE THUMBS had Halo 3-related strips on Monday and Wednesday - they both hit home
- Ure Paul let us know that ActionTrip celebrated the release of Halo 3 with a Muppets-inspired comic (I love those guys)
- Subnova comes back online with a new .Comic - and a mini-review of Halo 3 to boot

Launch Writeups
Wow. So I was going through mail that came to email addresses other than halo@bungie.org, thinking that I'd make a summary of all the news that hadn't gotten posted in the last couple of days before I STARTED posting - but the list is so enormous that I'll never get through it unless I just start. So - I'll do my best to combine like items, but beware the news flood! First up, some release night shenanigans around the country (and the world):
- iRTsuki made a cake for her local Gamestop: Top | Side (thanks, Thorn Harvestar)
- A Random Act of Kindness in Reading, PA - when a teenager dressed up as the Master Chief shows up to buy Halo 3, and it's learned that he doesn't even own a 360, someone buys him one - thanks, VelocityTino
- dogsounds described a lower-key event in the UK - you know you're not in the US when those in the queue are offered eclairs while they wait
- Crispy got himself a pair of tickets to the big London gala - the woman he invited wrote up the experience
- zakguy wrote up his Gamestop's Midnight launch for the magazine he works for
- Dry Ice took some pictures at the Gamestop in Grandville, MI
- Comics Alliance wrote up THEIR local Gamestop event - thanks, singkeo2002
I think we should probably call it a day after those; I'm sure there are HUNDREDS of writeups of local launch things (there were, after all, over 10,000 stores in the US, 1,000 stores in the UK, and uncounted numbers in other countries all open for this event), but we'll say this is representative. Comic Theme
Brodingo noticed a new theme for your 360 - it's listed on Xbox.com, but not yet available on Marketplace. It's based on the Halo: Uprising comic book. Update: according to speed13327, this theme is now up on Marketplace. Marketing Blitz
I'm not really fully awake yet - but I'm posting this now, because the amount of mail coming in about it is rather insane.
