Second Halo Wars 2 Beta Starts January 20th, Features New 'Blitz Mode'
The second beta for Halo Wars 2 starts January 20th! This time it features the new 'Blitz Mode' that combines tactical combat, card-based strategy and microtransactions (we'll see how that goes)!

New Arena Season for Ranked Halo 5 Playlists Starts Today
Looks like the winter season is over, and the new one has started in Halo 5's Arena mode! If you played ten games in a ranked playlist during its duration, your emblem should be there. In the meantime, here's the preview of this new season's emblem!

Paddles, Balls and Working 'Pong' Now in Halo's Forge

The Making of Halo: How Combat Evolved from Blam!
There's plenty of history out there on the origination of Halo, but Oozer3993 dropped by with his self-penned history on 'The Making of Halo: How Combat Evolved from Blam!' It's about a 11-minute read, but starts with three people in a back room in Chicago putting together the pieces that would eventually make Halo. DrBizz Launches to the High Charity Tower on The Level Gravemind, His Furthest Launch!
DrBizz is back and continuing to find new ways through the use of the MCC to reach and see cool things in Halo 2! This time, he launches to the High Charity tower during the level Gravemind. Here's what he had to say about it:
"This video is launching from one of the most famous cutscene locations. During the first area of Gravemind, the High Charity tower is loaded very far away and many spots are reachable by launching there. The new graphics in MCC reveal that alot of graphics are preloaded, even ones you don't see until you start High Charity. I land on the HC tower in many different spots and these launches took countless hours and hundreds of attempts to get there. The grenade pile was made by beating down enemies with the "Pinata" skull to get grenades then shooting them into a pile with unlimited ammo with "Bandana" and the Carbine." (MacGyver10 21:59:10 UTC)

The Halo Machinima Archive Is Growing It's Old School Video Collection
ukilledkenny7 sent us an email with a YouTube channel he started called the Halo Machinima Archive. It's a YouTube channel dedicated to archiving machinimas from the Halo 2 era. He's already uploaded 415 videos to the channel; and the archive has a total of 672 videos total through both uploads and playlists.
The channel features machinimas from more than 40 clans/groups; including HollywoodHalo, Jamie98s, Sodagod, HaloUnion and much more. He said he put it together by heavily using much of our old Halo news archive, so check it out if you'd like to rewatch some old school fan videos! (MacGyver10 22:12:05 UTC)

Halo Wars 2 Beta Updated to Fix Freezes and Language Concerns
It appears as if there is an update out now for the Halo Wars 2 beta if you have had trouble with it not displaying text in English or the game freezing on you. I've been restarting the game three times before I can play, so hopefully this will fix it! (MacGyver10 19:53:49 UTC)
