Still more cut Halo Wars animations
Quirel found yet another animation reel showing off more unused Halo Wars animations by Juan Martinez. (The bulk of the video is NOT Halo Wars - but it starts off with Halo content.) (Tom Van Sinden 13:20:21 UTC)

The Halo Council Top 5 Halo Plays Ep 2
CyReN let us know about Episode 2 of Halo Council's Top 5 Halo Plays of the Week... good stuff. (I'd be pretty discouraged if someone on the other team started the game with a Killtrocity...) (Tom Van Sinden 18:13:29 UTC)

Yeah... there's definitely a skill gap.
This seems to be the thing, now. Mikwin, playing with Classic, leads a suicide start, and plays an MLG Slayer match in standard Matchmaking against a team of randoms - the pro players kill themselves until the score is 18 to -58, a 76-kill spread. Six minutes later, they've climbed out of the hole and won the game, 50-41 (outscoring their opponents 108-23 in that final stretch). You can see the full game stats here. I guess it give randoms a CHANCE to beat pros... but mostly, it looks like a pretty bad pummeling. Thanks again, CyReN. (Tom Van Sinden 17:33:59 UTC)

Grab your ankles...
Wow. Team Carbon didn't feel like they had enough of a challenge in standard matchmaking... so when this game started up, they continually committed suicide until they were down 57 kills (17 to -40; the other team got credit for a bunch of their deaths, by getting a shot or two in before they died). At that point, they started playing for real... and pulled out the win, 50-49. You can watch the entire game from Snipedown's point of view. Thanks, CyReN. (Tom Van Sinden 18:27:06 UTC)

Halo 4 Preview from the Daily News
The New York Daily News had a piece on Halo 4 - they had a representative at the event in New York City last week, and you can read about both Multiplayer and the campaign demo shown at the event. (The demo showed off 5 or 10 minutes of gameplay from near the start of the game; there are really not many spoilers in there, but if you want to go into Halo 4's campaign with zero information, you should probably skip this. If Hedge Didn't Take Screenshots, Did Community Customs Really Happen?
When life gets you down, there are often many options to try and get back that happy feeling... A good book, a home-cooked meal, a sunny day... Or you could just skip straight to visual ecstasy and look at the latest round of Community Customs screenshots from Hedgemony. Your call. Either way, Hedge's shots will always make you want to come out and play. (GrimBrother One 20:21:55 UTC)

New Halo 4 Screens appear
Looks like a content embargo was supposed to end sometime today - Halo 4 assets showed up on Famitsu, in Japan, as well as allgamesbeta, and a French gaming blog. I haven't seen them on any official press outlets yet - but they're all over the internet, so it seems pointless to avoid mentioning them. They run the gamut from character shots to concept art to in-game screens - for folks drooling in anticipation of news about Halo 4, it's a goldmine! (Tom Van Sinden 16:31:48 UTC)

If you want to play low-res Halo 4, you can
For folks who watched Game Informer's interview with Brad Welch yesterday, and got nervous with his comment that the multiplayer splitscreen support was "four-player split locally, two player online"... don't worry, he was talking about Coop play there. Standard multiplayer still supports 4-player splitscreen online. Thanks to Frank O'Connor for clarification. (Tom Van Sinden 18:39:38 UTC)

Halo Waypoint gave us a special announcement this morning by revealing the launch date of Halo 4! November 6, 2012 will be the call to sickness for Halo fans, as we start a new fight with the Master Chief. In a cool twist, the folks over at Rooster Teeth got involved to help give the announcement. You can catch both of the Red vs Blue announcement shorts (US | International) over at Halo Waypoint. Check them out! (GrimBrother One 15:35:50 UTC)

Our Favorite Blue Lady Will Sound the Same
I'm pretty sure we knew this already, but just in case... Jeff Steitzer recently confirmed that Jen Taylor is returning to her role as Cortana in Halo 4. (It's the same thread on Facebook as we mentioned last week; again, if you don't have a Facebook account, here's a screenshot of the discussion.) Thanks, Der Flatulator. That's one less enemy to worry about...
Interesting confirmation - over at the Waypoint forums, Frankie has confirmed that you will not be fighting the Flood in Halo 4. Thanks to NeoGAF's TheOddOne, who posted a screenshot if you are having trouble logging into Waypoint's forums but would still like to see the post. (Tom Van Sinden 14:38:03 UTC)

Rooster Teeth Goodies from PAX East
PAX East is well underway at this point, and although I can't find video footage of the Community Panel that our own GrimBrother One participated in (yet), there are some interesting clips up on the official PAX Live Stream. The Rooster Teeth crew showed a scene from Season 10 yesterday - if you'd rather see it in its hi-res glory, wait until it's out for real (Memorial Day 2012 is when the season kicks off), but if you're just dying for a taste, the action's pretty hot. There's also a film of the full Rooster Teeth panel (which starts with a trailer for RvB Season 10 - no spoilers here - and also contains the scene mentioned above). Go watch! (Speaking of Rooster Teeth, this tweet from Jack Patillo might excite some of you (thanks, bryan newman) - if you DO watch that scene, you can hear Wood's voice right near the end.) Halo Documentary
Huh. There's a passionate group of gamers turned filmmakers who want to show you how Halo has changed the world of gaming, and our culture - and they've turned to Kickstarter as a way to make it happen. They need $80,000, and they've given themselves just over a month to collect it. Swing by the page and read about the project (they've also got a Facebook page and a Twitter feed, though it seems to have been suspended) - see if you think they're worth tossing some cash to! Remember: Kickstarter projects require full funding before any money is collected; if you pledge some money, and they don't hit their $80,000 goal, you're not out a penny. Thanks to CYBRFRK for the heads-up. (Louis Wu 16:44:34 UTC)
