GameOne takes on Halo4
Germany's GameOne posted a half-hour video spotlighting their experience at a Halo 4 press event (HaloGAF's Hypertrooper makes an appearance) - thanks, CrazY CroaTia. This might not have received coverage here at HBO (most of the footage is just discussion between the hosts, in German), but starting at 12:38 is an interview with Frank O'Connor, in English. Telikos Protocol, Episode 1
This isn't STRICTLY Halo-related, but it IS 'Halo-inspired', and one of the principals is a heavy-duty community member, so... If you visit Vanquish Interactive, you'll see that the crew will be on hand this week at New York Comic-Con, and will be selling Telikos Protocol Episode 1 (which was distributed digitally to backers of the Kickstarter project yesterday) at the show! It's baa-ack...
For years, it was a tradition at HBO that we would host a pumpkin-carving contest, and you guys would make us feel warm and fuzzy all over with the amazing creations you sent us. Last year, we skipped this tradition, because things were simply too busy to make it happen. We made a lot of people sad when we did that, however... so the 343 Guilt O' Lantern contest is back. The prize list isn't live yet... but hey, you're not doing this for prizes, right? (Right?) Don't worry - there will be a sizeable prize list, long before the contest actually ends. Don't wait for us, though - get to carving! Entries can be submitted anytime between right now and October 31 - we'll start the voting process soon after that. Make us proud! (Louis Wu 19:56:39 UTC)

Football and Video Games... great mix
The Ohio State University Marching Band paid tribute to video games during the halftime show of the Nebraska game on October 6. Halo 4: NEW Spartan Ops Gameplay from Australia
Some new Spartan Ops gameplay was collected at EBGames Expo in Australia - awesome, wide-open vistas and Gauss Hog action. Off-screen Campaign Gameplay from Down Under

It's Like We All Get a Golden Ticket
This week's Halo Bulletin was delivered to us in golden fashion not only by the ever-svelte bs angel, but by the Halonian High-Queen herself, Bonnie "You're in Good Hands" Ross. The wise mother-spark lent her own words to assist the fans in gaining a more intimate grasp of the herculean task that 343 Industries undertook over the past few years to bring us the upcoming joy that will be Halo 4. It's a fabulous peer inside the studio's efforts, and a perfect match to bs angel's delivery of new screenshots and information from both the new Flood Mode as well as the new map, Abandon. A few remaining sprinkles on the update cupcake will certainly hold you entertained until next week's edition... or at least until Friday, when Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn debuts. At any rate, go read! Valhalla and the Mantis - Part 2
More Ragnarok/Mantis stuff - Paul B. put up a 9-minute game showing a couple of runs in the Mantis (thanks, CyReN), while Shadders wrote up his thoughts on his blog. HaloForum put together a compilation vid showing offscreen Mantis video (thanks, ElzarTheBam). Frank added a couple of comments to assure folks that the Mantis isn't going to be TOO overwhelming. High-level Haven gameplay
We've seen a lot of off-screen Halo 4 footage, but not a huge amount of high-level gameplay. CyReN pointed out links to some gameplay by BilzozANinja - this video shows a 5-minute game that includes a Sticky Detonator Extermination (it happens right at the end of the game, but there's quite a bit of decent DMR/Carbine gameplay before that), while this one shows a seriously impressive 29-0 run. (This one might worry some of you a little; we had word after E3 that ordnance drops would get harder and harder as the game goes along, to counteract the 'rich get richer' effect... but this guy gets drops after 6, 8, 6, 8 kills, due to huge bonuses for things like a Running Riot, Untouchable, etc.) This last one also gives you a great view of the destructive power of the SAW.

The Eighth Plague
Hedgemony continues his series of amazing comic cover concepts based on the new GEN2 MJOLNIR armor from Halo 4. He started out with CIO, and kept the magic rolling with Oceanic. Unlock and Load Double XP
Following up on their popular Double XP promotion with Modern Warfare 3, Mountain Dew (and Doritos) will be kicking off Double XP for Halo 4, starting on October 14. The site is currently just a teaser placeholder... but the rules can be made visible, for anyone who wants to read them. (The site goes officially live on October 1.) Offscreen footage of Complex
BilzozANinja grabbed a couple of clips of gameplay on Complex, one of the new maps unveiled at Eurogamer Expo this week. Eurogamer Expo 2012: Halo 4 Developer Session
Frank O'Connor gave the keynote speech at the Eurogamer Expo this morning - you can watch it on YouTube. (It says 48 minutes, but the first 13:30 are devoid of real content. Start there, and you'll be happier.) This contains a campaign playthrough of about 10 minutes worth of level 3 - so if you're going dark, skip 17:00 - 30:00. You can find a transcription of the Q&A at the end of this presentation on Eurogamer.net, if you'd rather skip the video altogether.

Guns and Rosy Views
Last Night's Halo Bulletin focuses on Promethean Weapons - it contains a pair of vids (one with overlaid music, one without), along with details about each individual weapon. But although that's a lot of info, it's not all that's there! There's a bit of info about 343's participation in New York Comic Con 2012 (coming up in 2 weeks), along with a brand-new Sparkast. Finally, there's a new Xbox LIVE theme available, and they've got screenshots to show you what you get if you buy it. Halo 4 is less than 40 days away... get pumped! Halo 4 Media Blowout
Getting a really late start today - blame the Department of Motor Vehicles. (You can get there 45 minutes BEFORE THEY OPEN and still wait more than 3 hours to be served. Insane.) The press embargo on information collected a couple of weeks ago at 343's offices ended last night at midnight... and the floodgates have opened. If you're looking to avoid spoilers... now's the time to go dark. There is a TON of information out there - campaign, multiplayer, you name it. Hypertrooper has done a pretty amazing job of collating and indexing into a readable, organized collection of links over at NeoGAF - if you AREN'T going dark, this should be your first stop.
