Before I go... eBay'd Halo Stuff
Eep, I lied - time for a few quick updates before I leave. Lessee... I missed this one last night: Crudeoyle posted a bunch of Halo goodies on eBay, if you're in the UK. In-the-box Halo 2 Joyride figures, and a couple of Halo-themed controllers... take a look!

Halo Art, Livestreamed
AngelicLionheart stopped by yesterday to mention that a friend was drawing a Halo-themed birthday present for him... live. Now, it's obviously not live any more - but the first part of the creation is still online on Zack's (the artist) Livestream page. It's a couple of hours long - go see!

Digging in the Couch Cushions, Round One
Okay, I'm slowly getting there. Currently only a week behind! Here's some of the fun stuff I found along the way:
- Nosolee took a look at some Latin you can find in Halo 3's Bestarium - I LOVE it when we come across Halo fans with relatively obscure skills, and I love it even more when they dig out tidbits Bungie left hidden for us to find.
- RC Master posted a technique which will let you skip the most difficult section of New Alexandria, almost completely. Slick!
- SIX min WHISTLE and InnerRayg teamed up on information from Toyfair 2011 - lots of new stuff coming for Halo fans in the months ahead! Links to writeups and pictures in this post, this post, and this post. Oh, and this post.
- GrimBrother One posted a link to some new Halo goodies coming from MegaBloks. (Grim, you posted on the forum, but didn't front-page it? Goodness me.)
- Elnea continued her tradition of creating RvB-themed valentines cards - always worth looking at! (Might have been more useful on Valentines Day... but hey, we're not perfect.)
- Terminal Velocity created a video full of Reach Campaign fun - vehicle launching, getting out of play areas, etc. Pretty long - but lots of good stuff! Check out Meta Stability. And thanks to Muzza for letting us know about it.
- excowboy83 found a page full of... well, go look. I'd tell you about it, but my head's still spinning.
There's lots more that I let lie - after all, we want to give you SOME incentive for hanging out on our forum - and as I mentioned, I've still got a week's worth of catching up to do. But this list should help fill some idle time this afternoon! (Louis Wu 19:36:27 UTC)

Monday Movies
A few new movies for you, courtesy of Bungie's Comm Chatter:
- Bungie All Stars Submissions Week 3 shows off lots of fan-created takes on the "Helmetless Master Chief" theme. Some are pretty good. Some... not so much.
- I'ts been a little while since we saw a Rube Goldberg Forge creation... this one's Star-themed.
- Dutchy's latest montage is Blue Skies, a mix of Reach and Halo 3 footage. Very short clips.

More VGL Coverage - including Mike S.!

Project Aftershock Hits 1000 Files

Halo Concept Art Theme
Over at NeoGAF, xxjuicesxx noticed a Windows 7 theme composed of concept art shots for Reach - good GRACIOUS those are gorgeous. (If you're not on Windows 7, and you'd still like to view these shots - there are 13 of them - you can change the .themepack extension to .cab, and extract the images with a standard RAR extractor.) Anchor 9 Theme on XBLM

Bry noticed an article on x360a.org about a new Reach-themed promotion for the UK/EU market. Looks like you can grab 2100 points and get a Banshee Avatar Prop for a nice price. Reach-themed car for Forza 3 VIP's
Just after the release of Halo: Reach, Turn 10 Studios made an announcement in their Weekly Blog about a custom Reach-themed car that would be sent out to Forza 3 VIP's. A couple of weeks ago, they made good on that promise. If you play Forza 3 but have ignored it lately for obvious reasons, go look to see if you have a new ride!

Sing it, baby!
Cody Miller has been outspoken about his unhappiness with Reach's story. He's now taken that dissatisfaction to a new level - in song. Story Ain't Deep would make Mark Knopfler cringe, but is pretty funny. His Nirvana parody, 'Smells Like Retcon', is less successful, mostly because Cody confuses 'grunge' for 'drunk'. And Hawaiian Pig gets in on the action with his Firefly theme, repurposed (extra points for playing the music himself!). (reprobate wanted to play, too - he didn't record his version, it's just lyrics, and he's not taking the same shots at the Reach story... but it's a decent effort nonetheless. Extra Credits: Videogame Music
