HBO Regular wins Mountain Dew ODST Xbox
During the run-up to Halo 3: ODST's launch, Mountain Dew held a sweepstakes in which they gave away one ODST-themed Xbox a day for a month. dCon V won one of these babies - and took some cool pics. Now THAT'S a nice Xbox! (Louis Wu 13:01:05 UTC)

Helljumpers Pumpkin... and shoes.
Hawty McBloggy has a very cool ODST-themed pumpkin on her front page today - go check it out! (I haven't looked yet to see if it's been submitted to our Guilt O' Lantern contest... but it would be a real shame if it's not!) Cheap Halo Schwag
dCon V pointed out a pretty decent deal on Halo-themed belt buckles and wallets at ThingFling; $9.99 (plus $6 s/h, though that doesn't go up if you buy more than one batch) gets you 10 assorted wallets and buckles. ODST BMW for Forza Pre-Orders
If you read the October 9th Bungie Weekly Update, you saw a pretty cool Halo 3: ODST-themed BMW. Now you have a chance to actually grab that car, from Turn 10 - they're giving away three customized cars to folks who have preordered, and that ODST Beemer is one of 'em. Monday Comic Roundup - with a Bonus!
Some fun stuff today in the comic roundup - we've got our standard Sunday Grin + Bear It (interesting uses for Engineers!), we've got a Halo mention in this morning's AppleGeeks Light (thanks to many, first was Jim 028) - this explains a LOT of things - and we've got a very special treat for you. Stuntmutt's back, just for the week, with some new ODST-themed One One Se7en strips! First up - Phony. Here's hoping you like bad puns and bad art - because he's here all week! Try the Kig-yar. Update: OMG, it's TWO strips back from the dead! Halo Action Figure Theater has not one, but TWO updates - there's a guest strip by OboeCrazy yesterday... and a brand-new regular-storyline strip from Elnea which recaps what happened the last time this strip was live (back in June) - and opens the door for a bigger story. Torchwood Tex dropped a line to Bungie.net's Comm Chatter about her wedding - it was totally Halo-themed. Halo dress, Halo banners, Halo cake, even his-and-hers bridal cat helmets! (Halo music, too.) This is a serious pair of fans! (Louis Wu 16:44:13 UTC)

Britain's Echo has a story about a Halo-themed wedding in Southend-on-Sea, outside of London. Red and blue flags, a map-based cake, and the game's logo embroidered on the bride's dress were some of the touches. Nice! Thanks, urk. (Louis Wu 17:32:17 UTC)

Too many clean jokes...
I'm rather astounded this didn't show up at Hawty McBloggy's first (Hawty, missing a chance to rub herself all over with the Master Chief?), but hey - the important thing is that you know about it. According to Geeky Gadgets, another of the video game-themed soaps you can buy from Digitalsoaps is a Master Chief model. $7 to clean your privates with a Spartan... it's a bargain!

Halo 3: ODST/Halo: Reach - a summary of the day
As almost everyone reading this by now already knows, Bungie had two rather hefty reveals at the Microsoft Press Briefing today - the first was a gameplay demonstration of Halo 3: ODST (followed by a boatload of information released on Bungie.net), the second was a heretofore-unknown game, Halo: Reach (this weekend's title leak doesn't really count). Things worth knowing about Halo 3: ODST:
- Release date is September 22
- lots of versions of the new trailer can be found at Bungie.net
- Lots of new screenshots can be found at Bungie.net (poring over them will reveal all sorts of tidbits about the game - our forum is having fun)
- a handful of QuickTime VR 3D vids (and a hint of more to come) are available at Bungie.net
- Lots of new info about the game (including a new mode, Firefight, an invite to the Halo: Reach Beta for purchasers, an unlockable for pre-orderers, and more) can be picked over
(There's a new forum on Bungie.net devoted to the game, too.) If you missed the Joe Staten-supplied gameplay during the briefing itself, you can watch it at IGN (thanks, BlueNinja). And oh, yeah, there's a new Dashboard theme on Xbox LIVE. Moving along to Halo: Reach:
- You can watch the trailer on Bungie.net (or download it in a lot of flavors)
- It'll be out in 2010
- It's Bungie-driven
- It's got Elites
- I'm SURE there are more tidbits to be gleaned - dive into our forums and see what people have come up with!
