More Halo Sculptures from RandomCTG

New Halo Wars Screens Surface
Worth Playing posted 3 new screenshots from the GamePro Halo Wars spread - when I was trying to figure out if these were authorized or not, I ran across three OTHER ones on GamePro's website, posted last week. The WP shots look digital, which is a step towards the light side (they're not scans, at least). Check 'em out! Update: Psychophan7 pointed out (correctly) that the Worth Playing shots came from last year's E3 Demo (still available on the Halo Wars website). Bah. I hate sites that sleaze their way to pageviews. (The three shots on the GamePro site are definitely new, though.)

Community Spotlight: HaloTracks
Yesterday afternoon, Bungie posted a new Community Spotlight - this one is on HaloTracks, a site devoted to Halo racing enthusiasts. (A chunk of the spotlight is spent discussing the Wallrider map - i have to say, I downloaded this, and while the track itself is pretty cool, be aware that there are a LOT of things you can do to get your mongoose stuck permanently in places it can't get out - I wasn't even TRYING to break things and I lost the first two vehicles I climbed on.) Rare Action Figures on eBay
PFG let us know that he's listed two unreleased Halo figures on eBay - the first is a prototype White Spartan with funky mismatched emblems, the second is a Battle Damaged Halo 3 Master Chief created by Joyride before they backed out of the Halo 3 license - there are very few of these out there. AtLANtica - in Pictures
You may or may not have known that Tied the Leader held another of their huge clanwide LANs earlier this month - it was a full vacation for many of the attendees. My guess is tomorrow's Tied the Leader update will have a full writeup of the event - but to whet your appetite, Stuicide pointed out the group's Flickr stream, with hundreds of photos taken during the event. Pretty Pictures
I've said it before - we're not going to get into the habit of front-paging every screenshot (or screenshot collection) that comes to our attention; the risk of being flooded is too great, and there are already great places to see cool screenshots (try I <3 Halo 3 Screenshots or haloscreenshots.net, for example). Out of Bounds Panoramas
Well, yesterday's news was frozen at midday in order to keep the Vidoc story at the top; I thought it was a worthwhile sacrifice. However, it means there's a bit of built-up queued news at this point... let's start with some very cool panoramas posted yesterday by RVideo. (There's also one extra one in this post.) He's been playing with getting out of bounds with the 'pan-scan' camera - the pictures he's getting are glorious testaments to Bungie's artwork in areas that you normally can't see much detail. More Renderosity Art
A couple of months ago, someone (I can't figure out who) pointed out this picture at Renderosity.com - a very nice render of a Halo landscape, built in Bryce. I asked for, and received, permission to add this to our Misc Art collection, from Orestes, the creator - but somehow, I never actually NOTICED the permission. When I was looking over the pictures we mentioned this morning, I noticed his mail - he pointed out that he'd done this, as well - a render of some banshees over a Terragen'd planet. Entertaining vids for your Monday morning
Obienator found a couple of funny vids from female gamers - you can watch OboeCrazy's funny ode to 'Standers' (folks who join social matchmaking and don't actually play, assuming that at least some of the time they'll finish in the top 3 and thereby gain an experience point without having to participate), and you can check out Little Miss Gamer's review of Gitaroo Man. Wait, what does Gitaroo Man have to do with Halo, you might wonder? Well, there's a really fun hand-drawn intro for this review which has Little Miss Gamer playing Rocket Race in Matchmaking.
