Happy Birthday, halo2.junk.ws!
We have a policy against posting news from websites that basically say 'here's a website!' - mostly, we ask that you tell us what you're offering if you want a news post. However, we got one this morning that, while it doesn't contain anything really new, is worth a reminder anyway, because it's a pretty cool site; oil wrote to say that halo2.junk.ws is celebrating its second birthday today - in two years, they've collected stats on 16 million games; they're tracking over 70,000/day right now, and they've never purged a single one. It's a great place to save your stats longterm! Check 'em out. (I've been a member for almost 18 months.) (Louis Wu 16:39:44 UTC)

MLG Pours on the Content
3Suns collected up all the new content available at MLGPro.com for us - to start with, there's a sneak peek at Episode 2 of the MLG Pro Circuit, airing this Saturday at 10 am. (A lot of pros are actually going to be at the Nationals in Las Vegas when this one goes live, so a sneak peek isn't a bad idea.) After that, there are a bunch of previews of the top-rated teams; Legendz, XiT Woundz, and one we missed a couple of days ago, Shook on3 Gaming. Check 'em out... Nationals are just 3 days away! Mystic and Snowtorn Cove at HaloMaps
Dennis Powers points out two new, and decidedly different, Halo CE maps available for download at halomaps.org. Mystic places you in a mist-filled valley with castles hidden behind waterfalls; a unique skybox gives the whole level a different feel. Snowtorn Cove is a winter take on a classic Halo CE map - absolutely worth a run-through. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 00:36:06 UTC)

Down the Road
One of the biggest discussion topics flooding our forum at the moment (and flooding is the right word; we've jumped from an average of about 200 posts/day to about 800 in the last 24 hours) is the idea that Halo content is now being created outside of Bungie's direct control. This may or may not turn out to be a bad thing, in terms of the quality of Halo game content down the road... but many of the issues have been laid out by Hawaiian Pig, on our forum, and Narcogen, at Rampancy.net. Both are good reads; check 'em out. (Louis Wu 13:32:22 UTC)

Halo-Battle
CupiD-082 pointed out Halo-Battle, a Halo-themed MMO-RTS based on the online game Ogame. It's being developed by French fans, so the website is currently in French - but they're planning on making the final version bilingual. Check 'em out! (In light of the recent events surrounding Halogen, we should make clear that we're not publicizing this without the permission of the crew.) (Louis Wu 13:55:46 UTC)

Art of Elnea - Updated
Wow - I hate neglecting stuff, though it happens all the time. Elnea has drawn a few new images (including along-the-way sketches)... and I simply let 'em go. No more, though - they've been corralled up and posted on her Gallery page here. You can find a powerful vision of the Chief (and an in-progress version), along with a poster made for a breast cancer run (and one, no two, progress sketches). Finally, there's a fun sketch of her fellow RvB'er Oboecrazy, starring in her very own movie! Check 'em out. (Louis Wu 17:14:00 UTC)
