Be My Monitor
Eep, almost missed this. Hawty McBloggy has put together a list of the Top 10 Romantic Halo 3 Lines Useful for Forge Proposals. Some of them actually seem like they'd work better as pickup lines (if they worked at all)... but hey, whatever. Go check 'em out! (She takes no responsibility if using them gets you covered in stickydooms.) (Louis Wu 17:15:49 UTC)

Heatmaps: it's like Google Carnage.
The changes to your Stats page over at Bungie.net continue; mouseovers of the weapon images bring up great detailed pictures and text, and there's a new tab available: Heatmaps (thanks, RevDotNed). You can see frequency plots of kills or deaths by location on each map. There are global maps, as well, showing the aggregate data for the Halo community (thanks, Psychophan7). Pretty pictures - and educational, too! They'll tell you what parts of a map are safer (or less safe), for you or for everyone. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 14:08:59 UTC)

Screens and Comics
TTL Demag0gue let us know about a couple of new projects - the first is a collection of artistic screenshots he's taken, the second is a Halo-based comic strip he's building from Halo 3 screenshots. (There are a couple of pages already - the series starts here.) Both projects are pretty high-quality - check 'em out! (Louis Wu 21:13:31 UTC)

Hawty does eBay - she does it well.
Hawty McBloggy had a nice writeup of some cool Halo faceplates for sale on eBay - check 'em out, you still have a couple of days to bid! (Do you remember the toilet seat she found a few days ago? Turns out, that guy also created an Elite engraved toilet seat, and Hawty was the only bidder. She's an eBay queen!) (Louis Wu 17:34:40 UTC)

eBay'd statue - update
A couple of weeks ago, we mentioned a life-size MC statue for sale on eBay - we got word from SG Noodles that his friend won this. Final price was $1035, plus $250 shipping. He sent along a bunch of photos - he calls 03 "Bubble Shield v1.0", but I'd call it "MC Gets Married". Check 'em out! Update: I think 12 was supposed to be 'Bubble Shield 1.0' - sorry. (There's also a new press release for Halo ActionClix over at FileFront.) (Louis Wu 10:50:43 UTC)

Halo Live Action Short a Bonus
According to Pro-G, the latest episode of Consolevania contains "a Halo short film" after the credits; this file is too large for me to download on my two-cans-and-a-string connection, but the crack HBO investigative team has looked at it, and the verdict is that it's pretty good - "A goofy, live-action short". The episode itself is 300 mb (or 550 mb for the BitTorrent version); it's up to you to decide whether the other material in the episode is worth such a large download. Go check 'em out! (Louis Wu 14:49:15 UTC)

The Unchosen - Mjolnir, Complete
Whoa. I hate it when things get away from me. In mid-June, we received a really cool CD (outside, 166k | inside, 150k) from The Unchosen, a UK band who's been in our news before. They wrote a song called 'Mjolnir' (news | news), and then commissioned Paul Davies to create cool cover artwork. The CD contains all of that artwork, plus 5 separate versions of the song (including a 'Mojo Megamix' - you gotta hear it to understand) - all five can be downloaded on their website. (If you like their style, check out their debut album, 'In My Head'.) I feel bad that it took me so long to get this online - but I love seeing what Halo can inspire in creative people. Check 'em out! (Louis Wu 20:51:17 UTC)
