Earth's last hope: Chapter 1: Captured The Longsword hovered in the middle of space as the Master Chief peeked out the window wonder about what happened to 343 Guilty Spark. Just to think about that little orb makes him feel cold. 343 Guilty Spark was intelligent; he might have survived the explosion. MC walked to get his handy assault rifle that has saved his life from the Flood and Covenant. "Why get your rifle when there's no mission to be done?" Cortana asked from inside his helmet. "Just in case I need it." John (Master Chief) replied quietly. "Cortana, you take care of the Longsword for now. I'm going to sleep." 2 hours later MC leveled his AR to where the Covenant was coming in. BOOM! The Chief looked around the Longsword confused. No Covenant. All of a sudden an invisible Elite jumped behind him and hit MC on the head. He went out unconscious. "Chief wake up! Wake Up!!" Cortana screamed as the Elites dragged him into their boarding craft. "What shall we do with him?" one of the Elites asked another. "Yank the A.I. out of his head and find out where Earth is, Dummy!" At this point, Cortana became more and more frightened. She hoped that the Chief would wake up soon. "But we don't even know how to yank it out." Another Elite said. "We'll find out soon." Earth's last hope: Chapter 2 The Search The Chief opened his eyes. "Where am I?" he said slowly. "We're in the prison cell of the Cruiser." Cortana said a little more relaxed now that the chiefs awake. "How did I get here?" he asked. "An Elite knocked you out unconscious and dragged you in to his boarding craft. I overheard him and his partners talking about yanking me out and using me to find Earth, then they're going to destroy me" "That's not good. At lea-." Then he realized that he didn't have his weapons with him anymore. Then three Elites walked in and opened the cell door. One Elite pulled out a gun and stunned John. He was now paralyzed. Another Elite yanked Cortana out of his helmet, closed the cell door and walked away. A few minutes later he was able to move again only he was locked in a cell without his A.I. who is soon to be destroyed. He banged on the cell door as hard as he could but he couldn't break the shield. Shield? Why didn't he think of it before? The Chief threw a plasma grenade at the door and it exploded. The door was wide open. He ran out on the cell and came across a long hallway with sleeping Grunts all armed with needlers. He stole one and then the Grunts woke up. He sprang in to action, shoving needlers into every Grunt. Screams and shouts of agony spread through out the hallway as blood spattered everywhere. He grabbed their ammo and reloaded. Without his A.I. his reflexes were a lot slower but still he had his combat skills. He went up and down hallways trying to find the control center. He came to a room filled with 2 hunters. He knew where to shoot. At the orange part of their backs. MC slowly approached them. He shoots a couple of needles at one of the Hunters. He fell to the ground with a loud growl. His partner turned around and saw The Chief. The Hunter started to charge up his Fuel Rod Cannon. It released the cannon but the Master Chief dodged it with ease. He ran up to the hunter and jumped over it. He did the same thing as he did with the first. After that, MC looked for an unlocked door. To his luck he found one. "Dumb Tee Dumb Tee Tee Dumb." Sang a pathetic grunt. The grunt spotted the master chief. " "AAACK!! ENEMY!!!!!" The grunt fled from the chief. Mc ran up to the grunt and grabbed his armor. "Tell me where the lab is right now you little basterd!" "I'm not talking" Mc pulled up his needler. "Well, are you convinced?" "Nope, I'm not talking to a human." "I'm going to count to 5 and you're going to tell me where the lab is or I'll kill you. 1,2,3- "Alright I'll tell you! I-I-it's actually not that far from here. Ummm? Go through this door and turn right. Th-there I-is a long corridor going straight down. G-g-go down that corridor and at the end there is a door. That's the door to the main lab." MC lowered his gun. "It better be the truth." "It is!" MC leveled his gun at the grunt again. "Thanks pest." With that the Master Chief pulled the trigger and killed the grunt. MC followed the grunt's directions. At the door of the main lab, were two elite swordsmen. Master Chief pulled out a frag. Grenade and chucked it at the elites. They looked down and saw the grenade. BOOM! The grenade exploded. Gobs of blood splashed against the walls and the elites growled with pain. They were dead of course. John ran through the door. The two elites that stunned him in the cell heard him walk though the door. They pulled out there stun guns and tried to zap the chief he was a little too fast for them. Same strategy. He pulled out two grenades and the grenades exploded. The force was so powerful that it pushed the master chief back and he slammed right into the wall. His shield was low and he was injured quite badly. After the dust subsided, he ran to the terminal. Pushed some buttons and looked up at the main screen. "Downloading File." Said the computer. "Download complete." Cortana's holographic figure appeared. "Are you O.k?" The Master Chief asked. "It's about time you got here." "At least I saved you" "Yeah, thanks." Cortana lowered her head and crossed her arms. "How'd you find the lab?" "A grunt" "Let's talk later. Right now we need a ride. I located a banshee in the shuttle bay. The only problem is that the shuttle bay is swarmed with covenant right now. I suggest that you gather up things like rounds for that needler and grenades. We need a ride to Reach" The master chief pulled out Cortana's chip and inserted it into his helmet. "Whoa!" This armor could be cleaned up a bit." Commented Cortana. The Master Chief walked out the door. He found Cortana on time. Cortana set a nav point. He knew a new adventure was waiting for him at Reach. Tired and hungry John trudged through the corridor towards the shuttle bay. Thanks for reading. The next chapter might take a while but its called "Arrival at Reach" |
