ing towards you, guns
blazing? Though it depends on the skill of the driver, there are ways to come
out alive and even steal the Ghost from your enemy (a great way to make them
mad!)
Let's take a few scenarios and situations.
Situation - You are at the hilly center of Blood Gulch. You are armed with frag
'nades and human weapons (Shotgun & Pistol). Out in the distance a Ghost
heads to your direction, fire-trigger leveled. What to do?
Solution #1- Just by the way the ghost is being piloted, you can tell the skill
of the player. As soon as you've seen the ghost, throw a 'nade and switch to
pistol. Zoom in and DO YOUR BEST to shoot the head (hard to do when the Ghost
gives a lot of front al cover). You will only have a few secs to react before
plasma freezes your actions. If the driver of the Ghost was a newbie, he most
likely tripped over your 'nade. Finish him off before he regains control of the
Ghost. Should the driver be a bit more experienced and dodged your grenade, we
hover smoothly to S#2...
Solution #2- If the driver starts a "Death Ring" on you, your options
and actions will be limited. A "Death Ring" is what I call when a
Ghost begins to orbit around you while showering you with plasma. The best way
to live longer in a Death Ring is to back away from the Ghost as far as
possible. The farther you are, the less accurate the twin plasma bursts will be.
The rougher the terrain is (hills, rocks, and trees), the better you are also.
Do your best to shoot the driver, not the Ghost, with your pistol. Hitting the
Ghost will damage the drive by an insignificant small amount, but actually
hitting the driver will do the Pistol's real deal. If you cannot put some
distance between you and the Ghost, toss a grenade in the path of the ghost.
Remember to compensate, because if you throw the 'nade AT the Ghost, it will
explode after the Ghost has hovered over it (no good). Once flipped,
pistol-snipe the driver and the Ghost is yours.
Remember that there are infinite ways to survive any situation. Use your
surroundings, your equipment, and your head as well. If the player tries to run
you over, do your best to dodge it, because a Shotgun shot to the back is as
effective as a sniper bullet to the head. Take chances and risks, because
defeating an experience Ghost driver sure makes you feel really good.
One more thing. When all else fails, duck. More often than not, you will see the
Ghost hover over you at 120 mph and still survive to return fire.
