TRY THESE Assault Rifle / Shotgun
In close combat either choice is a wise one. Stick with AR, but switch to
Shotgun for extra close shave.
Sniper Rifle / Rocket Launcher Duh! Anything from med to short range will disappear in a puff of smoke,
while anything long range will get a short term migraine. Using the sniper to
scope for the launcher is always fun, too.
Sniper Rifle / Human Pistol Grab a sniper perch and go to town. The pistol keeps bogeys off your back,
conserves sniper ammo, and doesn't have a tell tale trail to give up your
location. A snipers best friend!
Plasma Rifle / Assault Rifle Use if you want to lay down some serious suppression fire. Unload with
Plasma till overheated, switch to Assault rifle, empty clip, switch back to
Plasma Rifle. You're talking 8-10 seconds of almost continuous fire. Wow. And
both have awesome melees for anything that survives your hosing.
Human Pistol / Assault Rifle The default for Slayer Pro, its actually not a bad combo on the medium sized
levels. Track your foes with the scope and go get them with either.
Needler / Human Pistol Make'em dance with the needles, then lay down the funky beats with your
pistol. It just so happens that the 2X scope and the needlers range are made for
each other. Great if you don't have a clean shot at someone.
AVOID THESE Sniper Rifle / Shotgun I used to go for this on Blood Gulch because of the one hit stopping power
of each. Of course, folks don't usually teleport from long range to short range.
I started getting killed by an AR toting friend from med range. One AR bullet
will knock you out o f zoom, leaving that tiny target circle to aim with. In
this scenario you'll be dead before your shotgun can bail you out.
