IncitePC is a new gaming mag, and their premier issue contains a nice writeup of Halo. We're seeking permission to bring you the full article, but in the meantime, we'll whet your appetites with a screenshot and a quote... In their discussion of the background story, they say this of the Halo:

"However, there's one small catch: It's slowly drifting into the planet's gravity well."

Nathan Bitner (former Halo Producer) stands by his Island Four quote: "Throwing in 1st-person is pretty easy (I think) programming-wise, so I'm sure they want to wait and see how the game plays out in 3rd-person before making a final decision." (Wirehead )

According to CG, the December issue of MacWorld mentions Halo in the Future Candidates section of the Macworld's Game Hall of Fame section, with this quote:

"Bungie remains uncommitted to the number of players the game will support but the company assured us that no fewer than 32 people will be able to play at the same time."

This is an interesting quote, given that it was written by Christopher Breen, who wrote two months earlier (in the October issue of the same magazine)

"The game will allow up to 32 players - 16 players per team - to have at it across a network or Bungie's own Internet-based BungieNet.com."

Interesting. Last week's poll at the Core is over, and the word is firm: 53% of 200 voters chose Seropia as the favorite name for the moon in the Halo's system, compared to 31% for Zartmoon. Interestingly, the two names were proposed on the respective forums of the Core and halo.bungie.org; "Zartmoon" came from Phayd and Butcher, while "Seropia" came from Loren Petrich. (Louis Wu )
