It was decent, your use of the code is acceptable. The dialogue is a tad unrealistic, but I liked it. Yes, you should write out the numbers.

I can only see what happens in the next chapter.

You are a good writer and I liked the story, especially the description of the battles--very good. You should, however, write out numbers. A good rule of thumb that I use is to write out numbers less than twenty. It just make your writing that much more professional sounding. Anyway I enjoyed the story very much and look forward to seeing where you take it.
